Insane
I'll be concise.
M80M is an instant favorite. Waited a bit until it went in
stock as they sell quickly (already sold out and they haven't been up long, can confirm.)
Resonant. Clean. Dynamic. Peaceful. Massive. Brutal. Cosmic. It blows my mind on each of the prior mentioned traits I strive for in my sounds. The Ibanez M80M just wins for me.
Beautiful intonation, tension, general setup, and build. I have never actually given anything a 5. I have bought much from this site.
Just buy it lol
This does the thing
Bottom line, if you're gonna do anything with an 8 string, just get this. It took me 3 until I finally realized how much the scale length makes the difference. The RG and RGA are great but they don't have the sound and feel of this guitar. Also the Lundgren pickup makes a huge difference. A/B them you'll see.
Beast of a guitar...
I have an original RG2228 and this thing trumps it. The Lundgren M8 sounds amazing. I would put it on par tonally with an EMG-81 but without the bite. It still sounds great in front of all of my amps. I chose this guitar because I do not like the Gibraltar bridges that Ibanez put on their new 8 strings. The Edge Pro is my goto for bridges and this thing is great. It stays in tune and sounds monstrous. It is about 2 inches large than my Rg2228 (It's a 29.4" scale) and holds Drop E and Double Drop D tuning really well.
Wow
If you want a guitar that you can really downtune while maintaining good string tension then this is the guitar you need with its 29.4 inch scale length. The Lundgren pickups sound amazing. Great clarity and bite to capture the full range of tones you get out of this guitar. The low end sounds so evil and in mid range, you get so much attack and bite out of it. Everything on the highend is just crisp. I am simply blown away by this guitar, and you just have to play it to understand.
WANT MORE!!!!
THIS THING IS OUT OF CONTROL AMAZING. I AM SERIOUSLY GOING TO BUY A 2ND ONE WHEN I HAVE MY FIRST ONE PAID DOWN TO A TOLERABLE AMOUNT. YOU JUST CANT UNDERSTAND THE SOUND, THE TONE THE GROWL THIS BEAST HAS UNTIL YOU PLAY ONE. LISTENING TO MESHUGGAH DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE YOU HAVE TO PLAY ONE.
