Levy's M4GF-BLK 3.5-inch Padded Garment Leather Bass Strap - Black
Levy's M4GF-BLK 3.5-inch Padded Garment Leather Bass Strap - Black Reviews
Levy’s M4GF Bass Strap features an extra-wide, 3-1/2-inch leather construction and is perfect for bassists and guitarists who are looking for extra padding and support. The M4GF features a garment leather top and suede back with a foam padded interior that stays comfortable even during long gigs. Its distinctive square end maintains a low profile with an all-natural leather look, too. The strap is adjustable from 37 to 52 inches, so it’s suitable for low-slung bass players and for those who keep their instrument closer to the chest. Plus, the M4GF’s suede interior has a grippy finish that conforms to your shoulders rather than digging in. Grab a Levy’s M4GF strap today from Sweetwater — your back and shoulders will thank you!
Excellent Strap for Bass
This strap is a great step up from my plain, thin Levy strap (which is not bad btw). The padding is subtle but effective and the leather quality is outstanding. It's easy to adjust, is pliable and comfortable. The suede backing is effective in keeping the strap in place. An easy 5 stars.
Bass strap
The levy strap is very comfortable. With the suede on the inside it stops the guitar from sliding down on the neck end.
Perfect strap for a bass!
The cushioned leather strap is wide enough to provide superior support for your bass, but not so wide as to irritate your neck. I often forget it's even there!
Feels so good
This is a quality strap with nice leather. It looks good and feels great. The width makes my Les Paul quite manageable.
Levy 3.5 inch bass strap
Great product! Well made, comfortable, reasonable price. Strap length adjustment could be a little easier, but overall work well.
Perfect Strap
Works great with my Fender bass's! Perfect width and doesn't slip.
great on Les Paul
originally had this strap on my bass that I sold put the strap away and forgot about I gust bought a new les Paul 60 classic and needed a strap so I used this one works great love it this strap is 3 years old and has been adjusted more times than I remember and on an off the same no issues still in good shape
levys m4gf 3.5 inch padded garment leather bass-strap
very comfortable, strap locks need to be a tad longer to get the inside washer on but it works with just the c clip.
An excellent product
I recently acquired a new (old stock) Warwick Corvette Taranis Bass and wanted a strap for it that was quality leather, black, minimal in aesthetics, and preferably from the North American continent and without spending into the custom high end market...this strap checks all of those boxes. I've used it daily for a couple weeks now and I've found that it is at least as comfortable as the overseas 'comfort strap' I recently purchased elsewhere for my P Bass and looks way more like a serious component of a nice instrument as well. Total quality all the way and I'll buy the same strap for the next Guitar or Bass that follows me home. Many thanks again to Zac Coleman for all he does to assist, the man is a pro...
Great Bass Strap
This Levy bass strap feels very comfortable and is easily adjustable.
I am very pleased with this product.
Very Comfortable enabling Hours of Play
Paired with my Sire Marcus Miller M7 Swamp Ash 4-string, this Levy's strap is very comfortable. A good value for a supple, yet strong grade of garment leather. I would certainly buy it again. The wonderful team at Sweetwater recommended this strap for my new bass.
Perfect transaction

Levy's M4GF 3.5 inch Padded Garment Leather Bass Strap
The first thing that'll come to your mind when you see and use the strap is that it is a quality product. It is extremely comfortable and compliments my Marcus Miller V3 bass. I'm expecting that we'll make beautiful music together!
Levy’s M4GF Bass Strap
Still the best leather strap out there in my opinion.
Well-padded and Comfortable
The strap width works well for bass and it has the the right amount of padding. It is easy to adjust and seems very well made. Just what I was looking for!
Extremely Comfortable Strap
This strap starts out very comfortable, and it only gets better with time. The more you use it and break it in, the softer and more comfortable it gets. I have 2 of them (one for each bass) and I can't recommend it enough.
Not long enough
I wish it was able to adjust to a longer length
Best leather strap I own.
It is not too pricey and overall fit and quality is great. I bought it specifically for a Gibson SG Bass that suffers from neck dive (they all do). It helps out a great deal. It is a great looking strap. Strap one on! What are you waiting for?
Very Comfortable strap
This strap is very comfortable and supports the bass guitar easily.
Excellent!
I was looking especially for a w-i-d-e strap for my Strat, and decided (again, with the help of James Masterson) that a bass strap would be the best. James assured me that the length would be fine. And again, he was right.
This strap is very well made and looks like it will wear a long, long time. Best part? It's very comfortable. It's a bit stiff now because it's two layers of leather with padding in between, but I'm sure it will "break in" in a short while. Thanks, James...just what I was looking for and very affordable!
Good Looking professional strap
Well built, thick leather, fits Dunlop Strap Loks perfectly (nice and tight). If you want to look serious about your art this strap will help. This is the right strap for a serious guitar and serious players.
Don't be afraid of the price, this strap is worth every cent, High Quality.
Levy M4 Strap
I love it. Nice and comfortable. For some reason I thought it was 3 inches not 3.5 but still very workable.I use it on my Gretsch G5410T.
Long-lasting Comfort
I wish I had purchased this strap years ago. Very wide and nicely padded, its perfect for heavy guitars. 4 stars only because it's bulky and not the easiest to fit into a guitar case but it will fit. Although it might be too wide for some people, the comfort of this strap is worth the price to me.
Love this strap!
It's the perfect length for me (I'm 5'1"). It's very well made and super comfortable! Highly recommended.
Leather - bass guitar strap
After much research and being able to touch and feel the product while visiting the NAMM show I decided to purchase the strap. I have been using it now for a couple weeks And so far it has been great. Very comfortable, and because of the suede backing the strap doesn't slide around. It looks great feels great I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Awesome
This strap was comfortable from the very beginning. I recommend this strap for anyone who loves the feel of soft leather on them. I know sounds weird, but it is true.....
not quite
its a good looking strap .. but they really missed the design aspect.
The 'pull' from the guitar goes right down the middle of the strap so the effective in use width is about an inch.
The sides are not supporting the guitar and since the strap is rather ridged, due to its double layer and side stitching, it raises off my shoulder and rubs on my neck.
It is two layers and they are the same length so when the strap goes over the shoulder the inside layer bunches up making it even less comfortable.
YMMV but a single layer strap or a woven strap is MUCH more comfortable
great strap
I bought this particular strap because it's designed for heavier guitars, and I was hoping it would make my fender jaguar easier to hold. I can definitely tell it's supposed to go with a much larger guitar, but it is comfortable, and I can now stand when I practice. I did have some difficulty in getting the strap short enough to fit me, but all in all, it can go shorter (and probably longer) than most other straps I've seen.
Drop the Logo Already Levy's
I would've bought tons of Levy's straps by now, but unfortunately they insist on putting a big logo on all their straps (some are VERY conspicuous). I don't even want a signature GUITAR, let alone an accessory like a strap. Lots of people probably don't care, but I would bet they've lost a 1/4 of their potential market from doing this. A shame...
Very Awesome Bass Strap
Wasn"t really interested in those flimsily straps at the store so I was looking online for a really sold wide bass strap I"m new to the game so I wanted something for those long practice nights Levys pop up on my screen quality is top notch. Feels great on my end a must buy agian
Very comfy!
I'm using this for a Les Paul Custom Guitar and its incredibly comfortable. I was looking for a strap that could alleviate some of the weight-pain from the heavy Les Paul's and this does the trick. It's thick leather and padding and has a great finish on both sides. Don't hesitate, just buy it!
Great strap
The Levy padded bass strap is a great strap. It's top is beautiful leather and the underside is soft suede--an unbeatable combination. Then it is lightly padded to make a really comfortable strap.
Works Great!
I got this strap to use with my 3 heavy musicman basses. The feel is comfortable and stable with the suede backing. Now I just got to install Dunlop strap locks onto it.
Perfect
Needed a well-made, wide strap for a heavy bass. This one does it. Perfect.
Levy's padded strap
I bought this strap to ease the weight of my 10.5 lb. Les Paul. It is by far the most comfortable strap I own. The LP feels a lot lighter and my shoulder is happy. BTW it is excellent quality and looks much more expensive then it really is. I will recommend this to anyone who wants to hold their instrument more comfortably with style.
wanted to try wide without padding.
Happy with the wide strap so far, Its soft too.
Excellent
Great strap, well made, very comfortable. Perfect for that new Precision bass I just bought from Sweetwater. I didn't put 5 stars only because it seems silly to say I was "blown away" by a strap, but it is a great, quality leather strap that is made to last a lifetime.
Not padded.
It's not a bad strap, nice looking. But any hint of padding is on the outside and inneffective.
Very comfortable guitar strap!
Very comfortable! I use it on a big old dreadnaught guitar.
Feels nice and secure. Doesn't slip o my shoulder.
Worth every penny.
Great Strap
This is my second Levy's M4GF 3.5" Padded Leather Guitar Strap. I have a brown strap, and wanted a black one. Since I have tried this strap and like the quality and comfort of it, I went with what I knew was a good strap at a good price.
Comfortable, altough a little wide for electric guitars
This is a great strap, well made and comfortable, reducing the heavy feeling of a solid body guitar on your shoulder; however, it looks a little too wide for an electric guitar. It looks better on acoustic guitars, but I see this strap more for a bass guitar. I think a narrower 2.5in strap would be better for looks AND comfort. Anyway, if you're going for comfort, it's a good choice, and I'm still using it on my Gretsch.
Very Comfortable.
This strap is comfortable and looks nice. It's not a fancy strap, but is well made, so it looks good. I already had the brown one for my Fender, and it held the weight of my new Les Paul well. I got the Black one to match the Black/Silver Burst color of the Les Paul.
Great Strap!
This strap is well worth the money. The width and padding make it superbly comfortable for long practice sessions, or long gigs. The leather is of top quality. The strap is very soft, and keeps it's form/shape. So far, it's the best strap I have owned. I highly recommend this strap for anyone with a bass, or heavy guitar. I own a Les Paul that has not been chambered to reduce the weight, and this strap makes it as comfortable to wear as my Stratocaster, or any of my acoustic guitars. Buy one, you won't regret it!
That's the ticket!
I've owned a lot of guitar straps, never spent more than $20 on one though--I found out you get what you pay for! VERY comfortable, no adjustment issues. Worth every penny.
Very Comfortable
Great Strap. Very soft leather and the pad really makes a difference. The only thing I don't like about all rawhide & suede straps is that they tend to grab your shirt. If you move your Bass or guitar position a lot while playing, the strap does not slide over your shoulder. It holds on to your shirt and pulls it up or down. Other than that it's worth the price for the comfort. I have a heavy bass and I used to get shoulder fatigue with the standard 2 1/2 inch strap. I can play all day with this one!
Well-made, comfortable strap
Well, it's just a strap - but it is really well made and very comfortable to use for long practices and shows.
My only beef (and this goes for all straps I've seen) is that those of us who use Schaller-type straplocks (Rickenbacker owners have little choice) have to ream out the holes to make them fit. What we really need are straps with holes 3/8" in diameter, and no slots at all.
Other than that, a great strap for the money.
