Guild M-240E Westerly Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Natural Reviews
Guild's iconic arched back makes its return in the compact Westerly M-240E acoustic-electric. The purpose of this trademark feature is twofold: principally, it reduces weight and increases live projection. But it also pays tribute to some of Guild's popular models, like the D-25 and F-30. The result is a great-playing, easy-traveling guitar with Guild's unmistakable look. The Westerly M-240E harks back to Guild's golden-era flat tops with some exciting vintage specs, including a concert-sized body made from premium woods, a classic Guild C-shaped neck, and a retro red tortoiseshell pickguard. The M-240E includes the AP-1 pickup for a clean sound that plugs straight into a PA.

Love this little guitar
Want a concert size for seating on the couch and play. Settle on this one, I liked the arched back. I have had a week and I am very happy. Plays well. Sounds great. And projects very well for a smaller guitar. And looks great. Would highly recommend. I have always loved the classic look of open gear turners. Great buy for the price. And I like how the electronics are hide. But sound great.
Great Guitar for Price
Bought this guitar several weeks ago, and am very pleased with it! I have a couple Martin dreadnoughts, my goal was to get a less pricey smaller body guitar that I could feel comfortable taking out of the house to play. This guitar matched my hopes very well and has exceeded my expectations in terms of sound, feel, and build quality! No, the sound does not match the even balance of a dreadnought (this tends to favour the higher end), but I expected that from a parlour guitar. Of course, the differences in sound and feel are what having multiple guitars is all about! The fact that it is all solid wood is amazing at this price, and the electronics are a bonus. All in all, I got what I was looking for and it turned out to be better than expected! Thanks to Darcee for her help!
Portable Guild
Nicest concert size guitar out there. Acoustic-electric is a welcomed plus. Best bang for the bucks. I take my Guild M-240 everywhere. My go-to-guitar. Period.
M 240 E
I have had my guitar about 3 weeks,I am a letter slow writing reviews. I am very happy with this guitar, I had to go to a little smaller guitar. As I just couldn't play the bigger dreadnot guitars any longer. This is the perfect guitar for a smaller person or someone with smaller hands. I also had them do a setup on it and put lighter strings on. I highly recommend spending the extra money,it is well worth it and you can be sure to get a guitar that is perfect for you. I also got the Guild hummidfier case for it,I got a demo case and saved some money but it looks like brand new can not find a thing wrong with it . The customer service at Sweetwater is really great . I have bought 3 guitars and several pieces of gear and I would shop nowhere else. Sales engineer Braden Thacker deserves 10 stars for his exceptional service and follow up. I know this is long but I just can't say enough about these people. If you have not shopped here you need to give them a try you'll never go anywhere else.
Great Little Guitar
It's a myth that you need to spend $3,000 to get a good acoustic. I picked this up a couple years ago and like it a lot. It's great for fingerstyle and strumming. I prefer small-body guitars because they're more evenly balanced on all the strings. Guild has always made great guitars, especially coveted are the archback models like this one. Don't be scared off by the Asian construction, this is a quality guitar. Nick Drake would approve.
Great guitar!
Sounds is Incredible! It is also a great guitar for the price! Has a beautiful body!
New favorite
Construction, fit, finish insanely good for this price.
Full sound range in a small package.
Softly played, notes/chords very precise, booms sound when played hard.
Very light, perfect travel guitar.
My next guitar will be a Guild, no doubt, if $+ gets you a quality at this level.....
This thing is great, don't hesitate.
Great value
I've owned and still own, many of the top brands both acoustic, and electric. I purchased this as a rent to own for a promising Student. I haven't presented said student with the guitar because I'm ordering a hard case for it. This guitar is deserving of a good case, as I've put it through its paces, and found it comparable in build, tone, and playability to more expensive models. I would recommend this model to anyone, including a friend, that's in the market for a sweet affordable concert size acoustic.
Better than expected !!
Quite surprised by the overall build, neck, arched back and comfort. For a Chinese made guitar, this a good one. Plus, it sounds great. I'm very happy!!
BTW, I first bought a baby Taylor BT2e from another dealer. I was very unhappy with the build, sound, and value for the price paid. I sent it back, and then watched some various you tube videos. I wanted a guitar that I could travel with, was enjoyable to play, and sounds good. The research led me to the Guild concert size guitars. The M-240e fit the bill. A great size for my needs and not a baby almost guitar.
Great bang for buck
Beyond satisfied with this purchase! The guitar has a full and bright sound, solid materials, great aesthetics, and the perfect size for comfort.
