LR Baggs M1 Passive Acoustic Guitar Soundhole Humbucker Pickup Reviews
The M1 is LR Baggs' passive soundhole pickup designed to amplify your acoustic's projection without the aid of a battery. The M1's adjustable pole pieces provide great balance from string to string, amplifying a wide range of acoustics with varying bridge widths. When you're recording in the studio, the gold-plated 1/8-inch jack allows for quick and easy removal in a pinch. Your M1 includes a pre-wired strapjack harness, or you can use the included 10-foot external soundhole cable if you'd rather eliminate modifications to your instrument entirely. Here at Sweetwater, we've found this stacked humbucker design will give you a wonderful blend of string and body, and it's complemented by a quiet, hum-free operation.

Baggs M1 Passive Pickup
I've had this pickup starting about 20 years ago on my old Red Label FG 110, on which it sounded fantastic. It's spent the past few years on my Seagull Maritime Mahogany top.
Not only does the pickup just look sharp on that guitar (it matches the binding perfectly), but it does a great job of bringing out the character of the guitar. It never gets boomy or boxy live and even records well direct. A friend has the M1A on his Martin HD-28 and we always have trouble with clicks and pops (maybe it just needs a new battery?), while folks consistently praise the sound of my passive pickup. The only issue, and it's inherent with the design, is that it will usually need some sort of boost. That's okay and easy to deal with.
As a bonus, the included cables are Mogami (at least mine are), so I have a really nice 10ft cable to use for other things now that I have the pickup installed permanently.
Just what I wanted!
Great to have my songwriter acoustic where I can take it to events and be heard.
LR Baggs M1 passive guitar pickup .
I mounted this pickup on my 1951 Martin 00-17 . Pairing it with my LR Baggs Gig pro , then into my Bose S1 Pro . It's very well balanced , easy to mount . I used the end Jack . I already had one in . This pickup is very feed back resistant and easy to adjust . It works well with or with out pre amp however with Gig pro much easier to control . If I
Didn't have a pre amp I would have purchased an active model . Really happy with help from Patric Dennis and as always he has guided me through my purchases and always taken care of me after the purchase above and beyond . Thank you sweetwater .
