Logjam Logarhythm Mk4 - Piezo Stomper
Logjam Logarhythm Mk4 - Piezo Stomper Reviews
You tap your foot while you perform, so why not transform that into your rhythm section with the Logjam Logarhythm Mk4 stomper? The third-generation Logarhythm has a smoother radius on the stomping area, for more comfort over long playing periods. Musicians at Sweetwater like piezo stompers such as the Logarhythm Mk4 because they don't require batteries or a power supply. Just connect it to an amp or PA system with a 1/4" cable, and you're ready to trigger an electronic bass drum sound with a tap of your foot. Put a powerful rhythmic accent under your foot with the Logjam Logarhythm Mk4 stomper.

Guts came loose
How hard can it be to drill a hole in a block of wood and fasten a piezo inside? We may never know. To be fair I used mine a lot over the last couple of years but now it makes a very audible click when you strike it like there is something loose inside. I use it wrapped in a microfiber cloth to soften the blow when the sole of your shoe hits it and run it through a LR Bagg Para Acoustic DI and it sounded great before it started clicking. I've taken the cover off and repacked it and it helped for a while but is back to clicking now. Guess I'll have to try and find a better remedy. I would have been your biggest fan Logjam.
AAACCCKKKK !
OK decent sound I suppose. However. Mine stopped working after just a handful of months with minimal use.
Have to send it to Logjam for repair.
I got curious what actually made it tick and took it apart. Two wire microphone style pickup in there. Cheap build internally. Very fragile.
Logjam will do a complete refurbish at no charge and pay return shipping as long as I pay the $ the shipping to England.
The whole thing has me a tad irritated so I've procrastinated returning it for return.
Logjam stomper
Not bad for what it is. I don't know how it would work through a small amp but running direct through my small PA, (which does have a small sub) it sounds great.
Don't Count It Out
I received this stomp box as a birthday gift, and as the other review states, it is rather quiet on its' own. However, as with many piezo instruments, it benefited greatly by being paired with a DI box - in this case I used an inexpensive Behringer ADI 21, and that made all the difference. With a little help, the instrument has a warm, full sound, and the width of the box allows the player to coax out a number of different tones, depending on foot placement.
Should this instrument be louder? Absolutely. However, with a little gain boost it has an appealing sound, and a surprising amount of versatility - I'll hang on to it.
Not loud enough
I hooked this up to my Mackie FXPRO 8 channel mixer with a 1/4 inch cord. I had to crank the volume and gain all the way and it was barely loud enough. This might work fine for a quieter finger style player, but it didn't have the umph I need.
