Supercardioid Condenser Microphone with Gooseneck, Violin Mounting Clip, Microphone Cable, and XLR Adapter

As much as electric violins have changed the game for live violin sounds, engineers still need to be prepared when an acoustic violin makes an appearance at their venue. For situations like that, Sweetwater recommends grabbing an Acacia LIZ-Instrument Gooseneck Microphone for Violin. It offers amazing sound reproduction without tons of background noise bleeding into the signal. Plus, the flexible gooseneck lets you place the mic right in the sweet spot of any violin. Your purchase includes the LIZ-Instrument microphone, a flexible gooseneck for perfect positioning, a mounting clip, and an XLR adapter. Best of all, setup is just as easy as tearing down after recording. Users here at Sweetwater recommend the Acacia LIZ-Instrument Gooseneck Microphone for applications ranging from playing onstage, Sunday morning worship, TV spots, and everything in between. Acacia currently offers LIZ-Instrument Gooseneck Microphones in a range of instrument-specific options.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

By Mooshie from Houston
Music Background: Pro musician

We bought two of these mics. Both have failed. The tiny cord they used is much too delicate for a microphone that has to be taken on and off the violin each time you used it. After only a couple months, both of them started to crackle and pop as though there was a short in the cable. We had one replaced already, and now both the replacement and the original have both gone bad again. The warranty only gives you repair on your mics and not replacement, so you have to wait however many weeks or months it takes for them to fix them, AND they make you pay the postage to the repair center! They would probably just use the same weak cable. Also, the mic head itself kept falling off! We would put it back on, but it would just fall off again. The last time it fell off, we searched for it for an hour and could not find it. What good is it now?

I had to buy a replacement, so I got a Behringer mic at 1/6 the price of these, and it is working fine.

I understand them not wanting a heavy cable that would make the microphone heavy, but it's ridiculous that these cables fail so easiy. Our violinst was extrememly gentle handling them, and it made no difference. Don't want anyone else to waster their hard earned dollars.

Delicate as a crystal flower

By Albert B. from Santee, CA

Fantastic sound from this microphone out of the box however not much thought was put into making it Road and stage-worthy and it did not make it through one performance you know the violent player has to pick their violin up and put it down on the stand and maybe it would be better with some sort of Wireless configuration

Great!

By Didier from Falls Church, VA
Music Background: graduated with Music Production degree - currently a church Worship Director

We purchased this mic for the violin that was recently added to the team and it has worked great. The first one had issues and would not receive signal unless constantly adjusted, but we got it replaced and it has worked great. Installing it each time is a tiny bit of an inconvenience because of the different components of the mic, but I cannot complain as it has done its simple job and has not caused feedback or bleed issues.
