Gibson pays tribute to Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson who, for over 30 years, has provided much of the sonic firepower of Canadian prog rock pioneers Rush. This guitar sports maple top, back, and sides, with a slim-taper 3-piece maple neck and 22-fret ebony fingerboard providing excellent feel and speed for everything from chunky chording to intricate solos.The Gibson Custom Shop Alex Lifeson Signature ES-355 guitar is a painstaking recreation of Alex's trusty 1976 ES-355, an instrument he's relied on for years, both on stage and in the studio.

Gibson's Custom Shop tribute to a rock guitar innovator and versatile guitarist, the Limited Edition Alex Lifeson ES-355 offers the same broad tonal palette and playability that's made the original 1976 model a go-to instrument for the Rush star.
Recreation of his classic axe
This beautiful semi-hollow guitar features a laminated maple top, back, and sides, while its 3-piece maple neck and 22-fret ebony fingerboard provide excellent feel and speed for everything from chunky chording to intricate solos, thanks to a 1960s slim taper profile. This exquisite recreation of Alex Lifeson's ES-355 also offers a pair of '57 Classic humbucking pickups, complete with a 6-position Vari-Tone selector and bypass switch for getting a rich array of tones, from clear clean to aggressive growl.
Appointments
The appointments are magnificent, from the pearl headstock and fingerboard inlays to the multi-ply body binding. This Custom Shop ES-355 model also sports gold hardware, including an adjustable wide-travel Tune-O-Matic bridge, Maestro Long vibrola tailpiece, and Grover keystone tuners.
