Kala Learn To Play Soprano Ukulele Starter Kit Reviews

My granddaughter is just starting out playing ukulele and we got her one of these for Christmas. When it arrived, I got it out of the box to check it over, tune it up and this is very well-made for the price point. Not to mention it came with a little case, and a tuner and cord book, I would recommend this to anyone for that matter I thought about buying one for myself.

i was reluctant to buy this for my daughter. was really wondering why anyone would want a uke. i actually purchased her a guitar also, thinking she would set the uke down quickly after hearing the guitar. while she loves them both. she has been rocking this uke non stop. she has not put this uke down. it's an amazing quality instrument. easy to play. stays in tune. nice happy sound. if she keeps going like this, it will be time to upgrade in a few months. she's gone from not knowing anything about it to playing several songs using the great kala app. she shows me her calluses and smiles. when she ready for the upgrade, i'll buy another kala without a doubt. very happy with my purchase of the kala uke. really happy with sweetwater service too.

We ordered the "Learn to Play Ukulele" set and it arrived the next day! One of the team members were kind enough to call us a few hours after we placed our order to let us know that it was on it's way. I've never had a company take that kind of time and it was definitely appreciated. The tuner is very helpful especially since we are new players as well. We would definitely recommend it! I can't actually give a review of the Ukulele quite yet. It is a gift for my granddaughter and her birthday is not until next week. I can say that her older sister got it out and tuned it for her and played it and she reported that it was a "nice one!". I can also say the customer service was top notch. They answered my online questions quickly, shipped my purchase out immediately and even left a voice mail to say it was on the way and to ask if I had any questions. With a phone number for a REAL person if I did need any assistance. Very refreshing for these times!

Thanks to my very musically multi-talented daughter, son-in-law, grandson and granddaughter for gifting this Ukulele Starter Kit to me for Mother's Day. The grandchildren play it and so do ten other's in their Spectrum Children's Choir! I have always wanted to learn and now I Can! I purchased two of these Kala Learn to Play Starter Kits for our homeschool; one for my son, and one for myself so that we could learn together. I am very pleased. My son who has been disinterested in our piano, has been practicing on his ukulele everyday with joy. Chords on the ukulele are much more fun than on the piano, he tells me. (Haha!) I too have fallen in love with this little ukulele, it is such a happy instrument to play. It is well constructed, simple but pretty, and sounds lovely. I feel it is fairly sturdy, although a healthy respect for the care of instruments is always wise. I highly recommend this kit for getting started with the ukulele for kids and adults alike, it is a great choice.

I bought this for my granddaughter but had it shipped to me to check it out first. The action was very high at the nut and bridge so I lowered it a lot. I want it easy for her to play.
For such a small, budget priced item instrument it has great tone and quite a bit of volume. I wish the action had been acceptable but beyond that, overall I am impressed.

I have had the ukelele now for about 2 weeks and have been teaching myself to play it with the booklet and online lessons. The sound is nice and I like the lessons. The player on the videos is good and seems like a nice guy! I am starting to pick up a few chords.

Overall a great value for the price, sounds good and looks good. The little clip on tuner it comes with is very nice with settings for ukulele, guitar, violin and chromatic. Only thing is the C string tuning machine is pretty wonky, probably going to replace the tuners soon because of that.

For the money this is a good deal! It's a nice playing little soprano ukulele, plays in tune up the neck, comes with a decent clip-on tuner and gig-bag, nice booklet teaches most often used chords, as it's not close to a guitar tuning. Fun for beginners, though it was brought for a 4 year old child and she hasn't the coordination not mental development to learn chords, I told her Mom I'd teach HER how to play it, and in a few years her daughter will be 6 and much more likely to be able to begin to learn to play it herself!
The only thing that struck me as odd was that where the lowest string on most all stringed instruments would be, turns out to be the HIGHEST string on this one. A little like a 5 string banjo, with the lowest string NOT being the bass note! Otherwise, great fun and nice little kit... Only wish they'd included a strap!
