Yamaha LS6M ARE Concert - Natural Reviews
Want a smaller-bodied acoustic-electric guitar with exceptional tone and playability? Check out the Yamaha LS6M. Part of Yamaha's legendary L Series, the LS6M uses a hand-selected solid Engelmann spruce top and mahogany back and sides to give you a rich, warm-sounding guitar with full-range response. The 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck sports not only a smooth-playing rosewood fingerboard, but also a new, slimmer neck shape and an enhanced fingerboard edge. A passive SRT Zero Impact pickup uses six separate elements to detect each string and give you authentic plugged-in tones. The updated Yamaha LS6M delivers killer tone and playability in a premium acoustic-electric guitar.

Best Guitar under $1000
The Yamaha L6S-M is the best guitar I've ever played at this price point. Actually, it is one of the best guitars I have ever played. Period. The action is amazingly low and is incredibly responsive. The smaller size of the guitar makes it easy to hold and a joy to play. With full gloss and the entire guitar being bound, including the headstock, it feels like a solid piece of precise manufacturing. I compared this head to head with my Martin D-16 which is dreadnought, but it still sounded so similar it was hard to tell a difference. This guitar is so much fun to play! Something about the super low action, small body size, and the impeccable manufacturing, quality control and attention to detail on this guitar is what makes it the best guitar under $1000, hands-down! Plus the passive pickup for each string perfectly recreates the acoustic sound of this instrument, with no battery or EQ needed?!I also purchased the LL-TA which is on another level. I was going to return the LS6M, but there's no way anyone is taking this guitar away from me. Once I played it, I knew I would not be able to let it go. Yamaha quality equals no compromises!

Bought this guitar 3 months ago , should you play it you'd likely agree it should be twice the price it is . the guitar did need a new set of elixir strings, but that's ok . this guitar has a fullness to it yet also a sound of feeling which in my thoughts this size guitar should have . I encourage you if you want a nice guitar at this price $500 to purchase it . kerry
Hands down best value for the money accoustic line.
Better tuning stability then my Taylor.
Resists temperature and humidity changes staying in tune with consistent action better then any other acoustic Ive ever owned.
Sounds Amazing.
Easily competes with guitars three to four times the price.
Incredible Guitar for the Price!
I am always impressed by what Yamaha is able to produce at the price-points they sell at. The fit & finish of this guitar is nearly perfect. The sound is incredible, and will only improve with age. I have owned several lower-end Yamaha FG and FS series, and this is certainly a step up! Very comfortable to play. I'm already looking for the dread/jumbo size for my next purchase.
Great instrument!
Excellent workmanship and finish, which is to be expected from Yamaha. I have 2 Yamaha electrics and even at the low end their quality and playability is superb.
Very nice warm tone. Overall I think that what you get with this guitar for the $$ far surpasses what you can get from the 2 major brands.
The tone from the passive pickup system is fantastic, and natural, without that twang from most acoustic electrics.
Disappointed at the Sweetwater setup however. Strings were too high off the fretboard making playing difficult, at least for me. I replaced the 13s with 10s and still not good enough. I sanded about an 1/8" off the bottom of the saddle and that did the job. Plays like a dream now!
AS ALWAYS - YAMAHA DELIVERS REAL BANG FOR THE BUCK
What a terrific guitar. Beautiful tone and the top paired with the mahogany delivers a clear but warm tone when played fingerstyle - which is what I do.
Workmanship is top notch, even the interior is spotless - no glue spread, pristine construction. Abalone around the sound hole is gorgeous.
I knew that I couldn't go wrong, I have a 12 string FG from 1972 and it is still going strong after 50 years of performing.
The ARE/torrefied top just sings on this LS6, and the mahogany back and sides deliver wonderful throaty bass response.
This guitar is a steal at this price, which isn't out of the ordinary for a Yamaha instrument.
Top Notch
This little Yamaha is very nice. It has beautiful tones, is easy to play, and looks like a high end instrument. I have played it everyday since I received it and it is perfect for what I have in mind for it. I plan to use it for practice, recording, and playing out. It may wind up with non-standard tuning on a permanent basis, but it is a worthy guitar for sure. Yamaha is becoming my favorite acoustic brand because you don't have to spend thousands of dollars to get excellent quality.
Love mine
This guitar is sweet .. I named her Sweet Potato Beautiful sound, excellent pickup, nice tone. Lots of compliments. Travels well. Flat action ( low= fast). Folk, blues, country all sound great. Looks good Makes you love playing it.
Fantastic Bargson
Beautiful Yamaha LS6MHCguitar with a pickup!!! And a beautiful case Man this is heaven. The guitar is without equal the to me is strong but pleasing nice low action = fast neck. Very sweet deal on a fantastic guitar
Outstanding playing and sound
...OMG. I've been playing for about 40 years and this is one of the smoothest Yamaha guitars I've ever played. Sounds good flat picking and finger picking. I would recommend a pre-amp of some kind for use on stage or in the studio. But this guitar naturally sounds and plays great.
Fantastic small body guitar
I've been playing this guitar almost everyday for 6 months. It is a pleasure to play. Very nice tone and the feel of the neck is great. I have played guitars for 40 years and am a self-taught luthier. I repair and rebuild many guitars each year. This nice little guitar only needed a bone nut and saddle, it comes stock with plastic (reason for only 4.5 stars). Otherwise, it's perfect. Very nice projection, very clear and balanced tone.
