This stand lasted 4 years until the height locking knob stripped out. It was expected since it is a plastic housing with a nut and bolt through it. So, this renders and otherwise nice, sturdy stand useless.

Overall quality is very good. Feels like quality components and fairly priced. The only negative, and it's small, is that the tightening nut for the platform, when it's folded, hits the screw. As a result, the platform cannot be stored completely flat.

I cannot say enough good about Sweetwater. Whenever I place an order, it gets here quickly and I also receive a call from Mark to ensure that everything was done right. Old time service in a modern day is unheard of anywhere else. I will continue my business with Sweetwater.

Great for my laptop to entertain for parties

I purchased this On-Stage LPT7000 Deluxe Laptop Stand for using my Laptop while recording tracks into my DAW when outside of my home studio. I added an accessories tray to the stand to hold things like a portable SSD that was connected to my laptop, and my drink. This stand is solid and I never have any concerns about it not holding my laptop in place as the soft pad on the tray works perfectly.

Love it, just the right height. I am musician and a magician, and this stand serves two purposes for me. Very well made, so I am very pleased with this purchase

The only problem I have with this stand is that the screw that adjusts horizontally hits the one that adjusts vertically in most positions, making it difficult to adjust. I don't need to adjust it often though, so it works for me.

Best laptop stands I've even seen. I use one of them next to portable (battery) PA system for Wedding Ceremony vows + music, but additionally as you'll see, I love two of them for my synch work re: ahead of gigs for downloads re: music, etc. Love em!

I have two of these stands and have used there for various purposes. Currently, one is for a multi-effects pedal that puts all the controls within hand reach and the other is for a Novation Launchkey 25 midi controller.

I had a minor issue with the second stand where the clamp for the vertical extension was loose. I used a bit of hot glue to secure it and now it is fine.

Not only is the stand sturdy enough to trust expensive gear with, but the sticky pad is amazingly versatile. I am using them with Yamaha Reface mini synths and they have a horizontal slot on the bottom that fits perfectly over the front lip of this stand, extending the keyboard forward off the shelf - yet the whole thing stays locked down on the pad. Serendipity! This allows them to literally hover over the controller so I can change parameters without stretching. This also means that small units like a host or thru box can find space on the pad as well. Overall very pleased with design of these.
PS - my laptop rides on a synth stand so I am totally backwards, and good with that.

This stand hold many things like a MacBook or iPad anything you need to use while making music. Great price and great quality. I would recommend this to any musician. Also the best music store ever. I worked in one in Grand Rapids during all the 80s and Sweetwater is one of a kind store and amazing business. They only place to buy gear.

I'm using this laptop stand for a mini keyboard and couldn't be happier with the result.The silicone pad is more than just non-slip, it really grabs whatever is pressed onto it which is great for wonky sockets like USB-B that you don't want cables wiggling. The fact that the safety lip is on the front and not on the sides means my Reface can a) extend wider than the stand, and b) use the horizontal slot on the bottom of the keyboard to actually ride on the front lip, extending the keyboard even closer to my controller while freeing up space behind it for a USB host and other boxes. The conventional scissor legs gives me more latitude in placement, but I can see where traveling musicians might opt for the heavier synth stand that is built like a tank.

I received this stand a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. It's well constructed and very stable. Delivers everything promised.

Easy to move; very stable. Laptop stays in one place. Tray tilts for easy viewing, typing, etc. Raises high enough for me to have near my treadmill.

Solid build, tacky pad keeps laptop in place. Unless you tighten it firmly, the top section will have a slight wobble. Not a big problem but noticeable when typing. It would be nice if it could tilt in both directions so you could reverse the orientation of the laptop. Otherwise the flange can dig into the wrists if you have a slip laptop.

This is a solid and strongly built stand and the clingy pad takes an excellent hold on the laptop - no more need for velcro. My only two criticism are :

• The lug that slots into the top tube has a diameter that is a bit too narrow. When you crank it tight, it creates a slight tilt. It isn't terrible but it is noticeable.

• The top only tilts in one direction. If you have a thick laptop it isn't a problem but if you have a slim laptop, this means that you will have the flange digging into the base of your wrists. You can turn the laptop around to the side without the flange, but it cannot tilt in your direction beyond the horizontal.

I purchased this stand to hold my computer while teaching online classes. I am 5'1", so the height adjustment allows me to use it for sitting or standing. I enjoy the flexibility, and the small space. The stand is very sturdy, and holds my MacBook without a problem. It does wiggle slightly when I type, but not in a way that is insecure. I even purchased a small shelf that works great for an external mouse. I am very happy with this purchase!

I love this stand so much that we bought another one. I use it for my laptop to run MIDI from my keyboard and our campus minister uses it to preach from with his jumbo iPad. The sticky pad helps grip your devices without leaving residue on them, and if it gets dusty I've found that you can restore its stickiness by wiping it off with a little water. Sturdy and easy to adjust, though I would avoid adjusting it on the fly during a service, as there are a few different points of articulation and you don't want your laptop to fall off.

I am doing a lot of writing/arranging from my Roland keyboard and needed something more sturdy than a regular music stand that I could set up behind my keyboard. This is able to nestle in between the wall and keyboard and the adjustable top is great. All the midi chords are now out of the way and this can fit just to the right or left of the music desk.
Plus, service from Sweetwater was super prompt and my kids loved the baggie of candy!

I bought this originally for my submixer and looper for solo gigs, where it nestles comfortably between my congas and instrument stands.

It is solidly built and it remains quite stable up to heights of 40" or so. A thin plastic pad is mounted on the surface, measuring 7"x11", which is covered with a removable sheet of acetate. The pad is very tacky, feeling much like the adhesive on scotch tape and it would do a good job of holding a laptop, tablet, or submixer in place without a problem. I am guessing that it will attract dust and other stuff if moved around much, so I have left the acetate in place. I advise users to hang onto the acetate to protect the pad from collecting random crud when not in use.

My laptop gets very warm and could use a touch of space beneath for airflow, so I may not make much use of the tacky pad, but I will add velcro to this stand for the laptop. After spending a bit of time with this unit, I will be ordering a second stand – one for the mixer and a second for the laptop. Frankly, I wish the top surface had holes for ventilation, but it looks like it will work very well.

Bottom line: solid, good quality, tacky surface, a good value.
