Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s Figured Top Electric Guitar - Blueberry Reviews
Inspired by the legendary Les Pauls of the late 1950s, Gibson’s Les Paul Standard ’50s Figured Top delivers all the best of golden-era Gibson tones, looks, and vibe. This guitar’s mahogany body and AA figured maple top deliver a one-two sonic punch of warmth and clarity, marked by the mammoth sustain that’s defined the Les Paul since 1952. Under the hood, two Burstbucker pickups brim with an open, airy, and dynamic PAF-style punch. Fans of a chunky neck will be sure to appreciate the old-school chunk of the mahogany neck’s ’50s Vintage profile, while the 12-inch-radius Indian rosewood fingerboard’s 22 frets are Plek’d to perfection. A thin nitrocellulose finish completes the package, allowing your guitar gracefully age and develop over time — just like Gibson’s original 1950s Les Pauls!

My Dream Guitar
To be honest I was looking for a PRS S-2 McCarty or a Gibson Les Paul Jr as the PRS was going for $ and the Gibson Junior for $ I figured I get the Junior as I read the specs at the bottom of the page I saw this Les Paul 50's Standard Figured top BlueBerry Burst Demo for $ and I had to have it. It's my first Les Paul Standard and I love it.
A Beautiful Beastie
Review of Cyanthia, my new Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s.
Cyanthia has been with me for two weeks, now, and the new guitar 'Gibson guitarshmallow' scent has begun to fade, so here are my thoughts.
Overall, this is a splendid example of Gibson's commitment to making quality instruments. The fat round C shaped neck fits comfortably in my little paw, and the solid mahogany body, with the iconic maple top provide long ringing sustain, and at 9 1/2 pounds is almost light for the species. The Burstbuckers provide the classic LP sound, with, as Robert Plant might sing, 'All Of The Mids.' No frills controls, CTS pots, with Orange Drop caps bode no surprises, but bring the expected joy. And... IT'S BLUE!!!! Quelle superbe!
Infinite stars.:)
Everything I had hoped it to be
I've been playing for many decades currently own many top of the line guitars. In all my years, I've never owned a Gibson Les Paul Standard. I've owned lesser models but never a Standard. Why did I wait so long to buy the real deal? This guitar plays, looks and sounds fantastic. So glad I finally pulled the trigger on this.
Just Perfect!
I believe today's Gibsons are the best they've ever produced. My new Standard 50's in Blueberry Burst is flawless. The finish, construction, setup, and playability are all perfect. I could ramble on about every little aspect of the preceding sentences, but there is no need to. I highly recommend the Gibson Les Paul Standard…period! Many thanks to my sales engineer, Jim Ridings, and the rest of the Sweetwater team for another exemplary buying experience. There is no better place to purchase music gear where I know I will be taken care of by the best customer service in the industry.
