Gibson Les Paul Sweetwater Exclusive Lemonburst

By Mark O from Pennsylvania on September 8, 2023 Music Background: Professional Guitar Player

What can I say? This guitar is unbelievable in every way. Has the 60s slim tapered neck; the most beautiful finish on a guitar that I've ever seen; plays like a dream and sounds fantastic with the Burstbucker pickups it comes with. Can play anything from clean blues to full out Metal and excels at all of them. Bought this guitar in honor of my Dad who passed away last year and couldn't be happier. Thanks and shoutout to Thomas McLaughlin my Sales Engineer. He made this purchase happen for me and was fantastic to deal with!

Incredible Guitar: it looks, sounds and feels amazing

By Arnas Gasparonis from Londonderry on June 21, 2023

The lemon burst is the only way to go in my opinion. The 60's burst buckers are perfect for that Jimmy Page tone. Think of the whole lotta love track on the live BBC record. It's got that amazing, bluesy, clean tone, and a huge powerful growl when overdriven. The neck is really slim and comfortable. You know how people say these LP's play themselves, it's true! Do yourself a favor and buy this guitar already!

I took the pick guard off to show that amazing top. It does not deserve to be covered.

Absolutely stunning!!

My 2nd Sweetwater Exclusive Gibson LP (Green Ocean Burst Classic). I had the honor to pick this up in Fort Wayne and walk around the place when I was there. I watched the website for about 3 months waiting for "the one" and it didn't disappoint. Matt M. made the purchase as smooth as always and I could not be happier with my purchase.

No Brainer...

By DJ from Cali on March 18, 2023

Purchasing this Sweetwater Exclusive Lemonburst Gibson Les Paul Standard was a no brainer. It cost $ more than the normal priced 60s Les Paul Standard, but you get an exclusive gorgeous color (Lemonburst), upgraded AAA Figured Maple Top and $ back in Bonus Bucks for future purchases. In other words you get more and pay less. On top of that you get the two-year backing from Sweetwater.

As for the guitar ...it is simply unbelievable it's a sight to be seen. The fit and finish is absolutely flawless. The intonation is spot-on no matter where you are on the fretboard and I can attest that it stays in tune. I assume the factory Plek's frets and workmanship have a lot to do with the playability. The sonic range from the Rhythm to Treble is fantastic ...blues to rock and back again and the SlimTaper neck is smooth as silk. I could go on and on but this Gibson Les Paul Standard speaks for itself. In short, it's a high quality American made guitar that you can enjoy for years on end.

This is my fifth guitar I have purchased from Sweetwater and it is the only place I buy my guitars from because they always have my back. It's nice to do business with a company like Sweetwater that places customer satisfaction above everything else. Lastly, shout-out to my knowledgeable Sales Engineer Tyler Dworak for assisting me.

Les Paul Standard

By Sweetwater Customer on March 9, 2023

I cannot say enough about these new Les Paul standards. They are top notch in every aspect. My guitar was flawless in fit and finish especially with the Sweetwater exclusive AAA grade maple top. Gibson is killing it with the Plek'd setup. I would also like to thank my sales rep Gharrett Kidd who was instrumental in helping me with my decision and making my purchase a pleasure to work through. Thank you, Sweetwater.

Fabulous guitar

By David Craft from Washington DC area on February 16, 2023 Music Background: Intermediate

I received my Lemonburst today. Incredible guitar. I have a LP Studio, an SG Blueberry burst, and a Fender Strat from the Custom shop. This stands above them all. The sound is fantastic. It is a gorgeous guitar. Troy Davis was on top of things as my salesman. I highly recommend.

More than happy!

By Richard Gower from Broken Arrow, OK on January 17, 2023

After spending months going back and forth deciding which model and finish to buy I settled on the Sweetwater exclusive Lemonburst. One came in with a beautiful top and I couldn't pass it up, I also had Sweetwater do a setup on the guitar also and it was money well spent! My Les Paul plays wonderfully, action nice and low for me and the guitar was spotless upon inspection. I was very impressed with the build quality of my guitar, overall everything was perfect between Gibson and the way Jeff at sweetwater took care of me during my purchase and after my purchase, I'm one very happy customer! Thank you again Jeff.

Fantastic Guitar!

By Keith from Massachusetts on January 12, 2023 Music Background: Learning

The Gibson Les Paul Standard, AAA top, Lemon Burst, Sweetwater exclusive is fantastic, I loved it right out of the box. It's a beautiful lemony yellow, and the AAA top is well defined with a great inverted "V" pattern running up the center of the guitar. I got really lucky.

The sound is wonderful and it plays like a dream. I have it in right now, to a local luthier friend for a set up, and it will hopefully come back even better.

When I first got the guitar, it did have a fairly significant amount of static electricity on it, which was causing a popping sound when touching the strings, and a fair amount of hum, that went away when touching the strings. As per Sweetwater's suggestion, I wiped down the pick guard with an unscented dryer sheet, and that along with using Music Nomad Guitar One polish on the body, tamed the static after a while. By the time I brought it to the local luthier, the popping and humming had likely gone away, as they could not significantly reproduce the problem. Thankfully, so far, they have found nothing wrong with the electronics.

For a Les Paul Standard, it is medium to modest in weight at 9 lbs 8oz, but it still seemed a bit heavy at first. So far, I've managed to get use to it, and the sound more than makes up for the weight of the guitar. Maybe all that wood is what makes it sound so good.

Btw, it's my first Gibson, all Fenders before that, and I'm so glad I bought it. I'm only playing it at home for now, and the fright stories I've seen online about headstocks breaking, will probably keep me playing it only at home, at least for a while. I plan on taking great care of it and great care in the way I handle it, so it should be okay. Btw, I loved this guitar so much, I also bought a Gibson ES339 Figured Sixties Cherry. So I just hope I never experience any headstock issues others have.

That all said, it is a fantastic guitar, the best or one of the best I own, and I like the ES339 too. I'm so glad I got both. They are beautiful, play wonderfully, and sound out of this world.

Wow, just wow.

By Nick from NC on January 9, 2023 Music Background: Playing for myself

I took the plunge and finally ordered myself a brand new LP. After playing a well taken care of, used, LP I decided it was my time. I've only had it a couple of days but I LOVE it. The very first strum on it through my (original) 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb was magical. I've gotten to that point in my life where I have some money (finally) and really want to advance my playing and having a high quality instrument is just a no brainer. The tones this baby has been emitting for the last couple of days just melt my mind! I was also smitten by the lemon burst color, I mean who can't love this?? Not just because its an exclusive color for SW, but it just looks amazing. The other standard LP colors are great, don't get me wrong, but man this one just stands out. Gibson would probably sell more of these babies if they opened up the LB to all sellers, but its more fun that it's exclusive to SW.

Do not wait, get one today!

Stunning Guitar!

My guitar arrived today, and I was blown away when I opened up the case. This will be my 4th Les Paul, and by far the most beautiful one I own. I was surprised by the inital setup, not bad at all! I will be playing this guitar a bit before I take it to the shop for a professional setup. My sales rep was amazing to work with (Israel Hernandez. Another amazing job Sweetwater!!

A new chapter…

By Michael from Wales Michigan on September 29, 2022 Music Background: Vocalist

This guitar popped up on my Facebook feed a couple of months ago because I purchased some gear from Sweetwater previously..
I looked at for a minute and said:: I think I wanna start playing guitar today!!!
So I'm almost 65 and I purchased my very first guitar and have been practicing almost daily..
The purchase went smooth with zero hiccups and was orchestrated by Ken Nace and team..
Saying it's a work of art is no exaggeration..
Thank you!!!
BTW, a few weeks after this purchase I bought an acoustic guitar for practice as well..

Couldn’t be happier!

By John Poulin from Las Vegas on September 17, 2022 Music Background: Life long player of all things blues- rock.

First, I can't compliment my sales rep Nathan Kelch enough for his patience and guidance in helping me finally decide on this Les Paul. He clearly wasn't after a quick sale and instead made certain I would be happy with my final choice.
And I couldn't be happier or more impressed with this guitar! Nathan was right- I love the neck and the pick ups! It plays like a dream and the intonation is dead on. The finish is flawless and online pics don't do it justice.

One minor detail- I had to tighten the toggle switch and I lowered the action once she settled in, which is just personal preference. If you're considering this guitar, buy it! You won't be disappointed.

Thank you Nathan and thank you Sweetwater! I'll be back.

Great Guitar

By Sweetwater Customer on August 25, 2022

As a beginner, I began playing on Les Paul and SG style guitars, but after about 4 years I got my fist strat…this turned into 7 Strats and a couple telecasters. After being jealous of the iconic sound of bands like Cream and The Allman Brothers Band, I decided to scoop up this beauty. The shorter scale length came right back to me with just a bit of noodling, and I couldn't be happier about the quality, sound, and looks of this guitar. There's just something magical about a Gibson Les Paul, and I love the warmth and clarity of the 61R and 61T pickups. Well done Gibson!

A Real Player!

By Sweetwater Customer on August 10, 2022

Erik Molenaar, Sales Engineer, Made my purchase Quick and easy, from start to finish. Sweetwater's customer service is second to none.

I couldn't be happier with my choice of instrument , this guitar is as much appealing to the ear as it is visually, the grain , I call them chevrons go in the opposite direction, very unique.

Like everything else I need to get to know her better. It's gonna be a long romance. Cheers David

The WOW factor.

By Sweetwater Customer on August 1, 2022

Well made, great tones great woods, but alot of meat on these bones. 9lbs 15 ounces. Need a wide strap. Not complaining! Sound great through Marshall, Fender and Mesa Boogies. Great for almost any genre of music. To be honest, I was intimidated spending this kind of money especially hearing about Gibsons finishing issues. But I believe GIBSON has turned it around. Is it 100% perfect no. But mine is 95% perfect and I'm completely satisfied. It stays in tune. Love it.
There's something magical about GIBSON LES PAULS no matter what pickups are in them. Must be the physics. I left mine with the 61R, 61T that it came with. No need to change. Overall, a great guitar. It's a blessing.

Excellent guitar

By Jason from GA on July 18, 2022

Can't say enough good about this one, neck is perfect good size, and actually really good way to be a Les Paul, happy with my purchase, Sweetwater is the way to go!

Not perfect but still great regardless.

By Michael on June 21, 2022

Mine came with two issues: 1. There was a tiny red speck of paint from overspray on the top of the guitar. 2. Gibson put the incorrect pickups in mine. Mine came with 59 Tribute Wildwood spec pickups which are exclusive pickups intended only for guitars purchased through Wildwood Guitars. Honestly I'm really not that upset with the error. I feel it makes my guitar feel a more unique. Basically I have a Sweetwater exclusive finish with Wildwood Guitars exclusive pickups. I'm sure Sweetwater would have accepted an exchange, but the top on mine has a good bit of flame, especially compared to some of the more plain tops I've seen pictured, so I didn't really want to bother with an exchange. Setup and playability were perfect out of the box. Despite the issues, I absolutely love this guitar and have no regrets with the purchase.

I haven't bought a Gibson Les Paul since 1981. I've been looking and finally broke down and bought another one and bought this 60's Standard in Lemonburst and it was sure worth the wait. This guitar is so pretty I almost hate to play it. Between the AAA flametop cap to the fret work and just the awesome Gibson craftsmanship throughout this work of art, I'm totally thrilled. I own upwards of 50 guitars and this one has instantly become my favorite. Then you throw in the awesome Sweetwater experience and dealing with my sales rep Mark Johnson and I'm wondering why I waited so long to make this purchase. Thanks to Gibson, Sweetwater and Mark for making it all happen!

Absolute Beauty

By Kaushik Wavhal from SAN FRANCISCO, CA on April 15, 2022

I have never layed my hands on a guitar that was this smooth to play and was this gorgeous. Everything about it feels premium. Not just the packaging and the outside. The strings, the bends, the tone. I am on love. Fully justifies its high cost. And this guitar was way smoother and easier to play than the LP 60s i tried in physical music stores. I was a bit hesitant at first on ordering a guitar online but the quality of this blew all the doubts of the park. It's nicely setup and polished before getting shipped. And it looks even better in real like the pictures from Sweet Water exclusive feature. Have attached both real and sweetwater photoshoot/listing pics for comparison.

Standard 60’s AAA maple top dream come true

By Sweetwater Customer on April 3, 2022

Have owned a studio LP for around 8 years and was…ok with it. Thankfully, my wife appreciates my obsession and talked me into trying out "that yellow one up there on the top row". Well, that yellow one is this beautiful AAA flame maple lemon burst that I think was built for me. When you know, you know - the feel and the sound - an immediate spark.

Enough of the mushy stuff, here's my thoughts. I played a few different versions of the standard 60's and I'm giving mine 5 stars. However - this is not, in my opinion, a guitar that you should buy without actually playing it first. Reason being is that of the 5 or 6 others that I played in the Standard 60's family, all felt and played so much differently, even with the flame top being the only technical difference. If you're spending this kind of $$ on a dream come true, put your hands and ears on it first. Fit and finish on mine, and the others I tried in this range, were fantastic - Gibson is getting back to basics and good, solid, resonant guitars. Can't knock any of them, mine was just built for me - find your own fit and take home an heirloom piece!

Exactly!!!

By Adam Cline from Buckhannon, WV on March 4, 2022 Music Background: Career musician

First off this is my new favorite guitar. I've owned and played many Gibson les Paul's, and this one just feels right. The flame top is stunning. But more than just the guitar, my sales engineer Jared Kalish is the best person I've ever dealt with when ordering gear. He always answers my questions promptly and helps me get the best bang for mu buck!!! Thank you sweetwater for this sweet memory! This will be passed down for generations!

By Craig from San Diego on March 4, 2022 Music Background: Noodler / beginning collector

Sounds amazing, looks amazing. Almost afraid to play it cause it's so nice. Sadly, broke my left hand flying of my bicycle handlebars 4 days after it arrived, which is depressing. Should be able to play again in 6 weeks or so. Will be admiring and strumming unfretted til then :(.

Many thanks to Ryan for getting it to me so dang fast. Ordered it Friday, it appeared at my door in mint shape 24 hours later on Saturday!

Perfect!

Thank you Alex McKinny! Charvel man who bought many guitars from Sweetwater. This however is my favorite! It's beautiful, perfect, sounds amazing, plays effortlessly. I can get lost in it for hour's and hours. The pictures don't do any of these bursts justice! Mine looks different depending on the lighting, day, night, or angle that your looking at it! Beautiful piece of art! Gibson converted me for sure. And yes, under the pick guard if you look hard there is a felt mark in the finish.

Outstanding

By David Zumbrun from Hawaii on January 26, 2022 Music Background: Professional 35+ yrs.

I have had this beauty for a couple weeks now and wanted to wait until I had a chance to really dig in with it.
The guitar is flawless. A masterpiece really. Quality is second to none. The pickups are perfect, sounds are so sweet.
It's true Les Paul through and through. It's worth every penny. The setup was perfect right out of the box. Traveling from Indiana to Hawaii the guitar was still very close to being in tune. I had a classic LP custom for several years and this is so far above that guitar all the way around its not even funny. I picked a few hot Hawaiian peppers from the garden for the pic. This thing is hot! Don't hesitate, get one.

Have had mine for a few months now and can say this is an amazing guitar no matter what style of music you play. It will deliver. Had a 1983 Reissue Cherryburst Flametop that was a beast but life decided I had to let it go to raise two girls and this guitar is every bit as a beast as it was and still is, im sure of that. Love it more every day. Arrived well packed and well set up and ready to play. Get one.

Wow What A Great Guitar

By Robert from San Diego on December 27, 2021 Music Background: Playing guitar for 40 years

I had been looking at this guitar for a while, waiting for a top that to pop up that I liked, and one popped up that I loved. The guitar arrived a day early packaged very well, and the guitar is just fantastic. There was a slight ping in the G string and the nut could have been cut a little bit lower, but after a couple adjustments for a setup that I liked, I was off and running. This guitar feels/plays/sounds amazing, you just don't want to put it down once you pick it up and start playing. I am more of a Slim Taper neck person, and I love that the neck is not a super slim taper 60's neck, it is a true 60's neck. I would say it is somewhere between a 59 and Slim Taper 60's neck, just perfect for my hands. I have a 59 and after a little bit, I just didn't notice the bigger neck after a while of playing, a really nice guitar. But I think the Standard 60's neck is the perfect size, the smaller shoulder is easier to handle fretting chords quickly and cleanly on the first few frets. Between the 59 I have and this new 60's, I am in guitar heaven for sure. The great thing about the Les Paul Standard 60's, is that the price is a lot lower than a 59 and it feels/plays just as well with some extra bucks in your pocket.

Amazing Guitar!

Best Guitar I’ve ever Owned.

By Joshua Gerling from Honey Grove, TX on November 21, 2021 Music Background: Guitarist/Guitar Instructor

Frankly, there are pros and cons to this guitar. For the money, I hoped for perfection, but I guess that is reserved for the custom shop. I almost gave it four stars, but I went ahead and gave it 5 because it is still the best guitar I've ever owned, the Sweetwater exclusive top is jaw-dropping, and Sweetwater's customer service was top-tier as always. The imperfections do not impact the playability at all, but they do cast doubt on how much Gibson has actually stepped up their quality control under new management. The two things that almost make me angry is that they clearly did not use a straight edge to measure the alignment of the tuning pegs or input Jack. Still the best guitar I've owned. Would've expected Gibson to measure everything twice, but I'm still a highly satisfied customer and will never sell this guitar.

Great guitar

By Jason from Chicago on November 16, 2021 Music Background: Hobbyist/Collector 30+ years

I am so glad that I finally pulled the trigger and treated myself to this absolutely stunning guitar - The finish (lemonburst) is a thing of beauty, and the playability is just off the charts. The guitar is heavy, but that is to be expected now that Gibson is not weight relieving the Standards anymore - and the sound acoustically is loud! Plugged in, the guitar just growls - the pickups have a great balance of bass/treble, and even in the neck position the guitar has a nice clarity that I don't have on my other LPs. The slim-taper neck is so comfortable to play - not too thin, but not nearly as thick as my LP Special (which is more of a true 50's style neck, just a baseball bat).
Bottom line, this guitar is excellent, and I cannot say enough good things about it - My Sweetwater rep, Patrick, is also the coolest gent around, and took care of me as always. If you're on the fence about this guitar, trust me, it's the real deal.

Freaking love it

By Matthew Graham from Cincinnati, OH on November 13, 2021 Music Background: Been playing for 18 years; classically trained; jazzer; was in a local rock band for a few years.

This is my first guitar purchase from sweetwater. I purchased it last month on October 2nd. By far this is one of the prettiest Les Pauls I've ever seen and this is what initially attracted me to it. I first saw it online back in late June (June 28th I think?) and decided I wanted one. I had just graduated from school and was new in my job so I decided I'd save up for one. These things sell like hot candy so when I saw new ones were posted in late september and 2 had already sold, I decided I needed to act fast since this was the prettiest of the set that they had I thought, so I just went with it! Zach Matthews is my sweetwater sales engineer and was very helpful throughout the entire process and I love playing it. I am so happy to own this beautiful guitar. Its tones are fantastic and I love the neck profile. My other GLP is a 2010 Gibson Les Paul Studio in Ebony with chrome hardware, 490R & 498T pickups, and I like the way this one plays better than my other LP.

That said, I'd still recommend one to try this out (or one of the others in a different finish since they're the same guitar) in the store or your local shop if you can. This has the 60's neck and I can see how some people might not prefer it, but I love it. This is my favorite guitar I own and I can tell this is going to be quite a collectable item!

Perfect

By Pasquale Macchirole from PA on October 13, 2021

I think the title says it all. This guitar is perfect in every way. So perfect that I am often afraid to play it! I've waited years to finally pull the trigger on another Gibson. I had one years ago and life dictated that I had to sell it. Since then I've had quite a few Epi Les Pauls which aren't bad but I had forgotten what the real thing is like. Finish? Perfect. Setup? Perfect. Sound and Playability? Perfect. Les Paul smell? Glorious. A big thanks to Zack for keeping me posted on the back order status and working with me to make this possible. This was my first Sweetwater guitar purchase and other than a small shop I will not buy a guitar anywhere else.

Great Guitar!

By Sweetwater Customer on October 12, 2021

I have two LP Standards '60s, a Bourbon Burst and a Lemon Burst. I bought the Bourbon Burst from another online store and it was in horrible setup (had nut, bridge and fret issues) shape but I kept it anyway and resolved to level, crown and polish the frets, replace the nut, replace the bridge and set the action and intonation. It's a great guitar but took some effort to get it there.

The Lemon Burst I bought from Sweetwater and it was immaculate and setup perfectly. I placed my order with a specific weight range and Sweetwater kept me updated and notified me after a couple of months when they had one. I've purchased other guitars online but this transaction was by far the best experience of all.

The stock Burstbucker '61 pickups were okay but not my preference and so set to work on some upgrades. I hand wired it '59 style, upgraded to 500K CTS pots and swapped the pickups for Seymour Duncan Antiquity Retrospec'd. The Bourbon Burst received the same treatment but got Seth Lover pickups instead. The end result is I couldn't be happier and both guitars are beasts now!

First online guitar purchase. As advertised a great guitar. Exceeded my expectations.

Beautiful and silky smooth playing guitar from Gibson.

I'd like to thank my personal sales rep at Sweetwater Dan Vanwerkovan for an outstanding job keeping me informed on my back ordered Lemonburst Lespaul Standard. The guitar shipped very well secured , double boxed and even had the "home acclimate "tag on the outer box telling me not to open up right away ! Hard to do but I did let it settle for 24 hours. It is really the nicest solid body electric I've ever owned. Everything you'd ever want and expect from Gibson.
Thanks Sweetwater !!

Worth EVERY PENNY !

An awesome example of guitar craftsmanship and design. I cant find a single flaw on it. No bad paint lines, no tool marks, everything is absolutely perfect. QC is through the roof ! And its a joy to play. Dont waste time thinking about if you want to do it or not, just buy one!

Gorgeous!

The Lemonburst finish on this Les Paul is gorgeous. The 61 pickups have plenty of versatility. I love the 60's taper neck. It's very comfortable and playable. Many thanks to Andy for his help on the order! I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.

Stunning tone, looks and feel

By Matt W. from Pennsylvania on August 20, 2020 Music Background: 25 year hobbyist

This is an extraordinary guitar. It sounds and feels amazing. Every minute turn of the tone and volume knobs gives you something special. And it is simply the most beautiful electric guitar I've ever played. Classic, yet unique. The combination of red-stained mahogany back and sides with the lemon burst maple top make it seem like flames are dancing on the surface. And the pickups throw out some flames of their own. I own several outstanding guitars. This is the only one that I consider to be irreplaceable. I'm totally blown away. Thanks, as always, to Chris G. for his excellent service.

Thank you!

Great price great guitar!

Really a sweet, sweet guitar.

By Gary Evans from Valrico, FL on July 29, 2022 Music Background: Bedroom Warrior since 1988

Really lucked out on the flame. Looking at some of the other photos posted here, some of y'all got finishes that I would have been disappointed in if I paid for AAA flame top. But mine looks like a wrinkled up chenille blanket. My pic doesn't do it justice, so I included the SW studio pic.

What else to say, it's a Les Paul Standard. It's a great guitar.

Chief complaints - 1. those stupid Gibson strap pegs, make sure you swap them out for locking pegs immediately, since the button is too small to stay in a strap that gets any slack, and 2. volume pots were a little dirty. I owned the guitar for less than 3 months and had to clean them because the pickups were reacting when I would pick up the guitar even though the volume was all the way down on the selected pickup. These two items prevent me from giving a 5* rating and drop it to 4.5*.

My Recent Purchase

The problem I've always had with Les Pauls is their weight — their just really heavy guitars. I still have that problem. . . But I'm getting used to it!

This is a beautiful guitar and you can't beat the sound possibilities.

Sweetwater made the entire purchase experience flawless. Thanks Nick!!!

Not quite early 60s Standard

By Sweetwater Customer from midwest on April 17, 2024 Music Background: musician singer songwiter with decades of gigs and jamming.

After study of many factors that Make late 50s early 60s Standards Dream guitars for many players. I knew I would Never own a High dollar Original. When I saw the one I bought ( Demo ) for a lot less than a "perfect New one" I decided to got for it. As it left Sweetwater to be delivered to Me. They sent it set up very well. I am sure the "Plec" machine did its thing well. After reading and watching online videos I decided to give it the real 50s tone upgrades I was told by others will bring nearly any Les Standard style guitar closer to 6 figure value real bursts. The bad changes Gibson made were changing the metals the original Burst guitars used for the bridge, ( alloy with brass saddles )bridge posts, Thumbwheels, ( solid Brass ) Tailpiece (light weight solid Aluminum) and tailpiece Studs and anchors ( Originals used Steel Gibson has not on any but most pricy custom shops for decades ) After those relatively inexpensive changes. Unplugged it sounded much better in tone and sustain. Plugged into a driven tube amp much better still. I now feel I have the closet one can get to original without spending hundreds of thousands. Looks fantastic as well. 1st Gibson I ever paid more than 1 k for. I feel it was well worth it. - After upgrades. I give this a 5 star .

Beautiful guitar, awful pickups

By Sweetwater Customer on March 30, 2022

This guitar was gorgeous-a little too pretty really- fit and finish were spot on...Sweetwater wouldnt have it any other way..however, the pickups on this guitar are terrible, which mightve been overlooked, but this was $3126 out the door....come on Gibson, help us out here......use something better
