A tele on roids
This is my third custom shop guitar and it is the best one yet. Whatever problems Gibson had have been resolved. This craftsmanship is immaculate. The neck is perfectly fat. The gold color is perfect with tinges of green hiding in there. Very resonant wood even acoustically. The pickups are remarkable. It sounds like my broadcaster on steroids and with no hum. Very decent weight wise. Stays in tune for weeks at a time which still blows my socks off. Only Lester to ever do that for me. If you can swing the cost, it's worth every dime. Give Geoff Allen a shout and he'll help you out.
This is the one.
I'll keep this simple... if you're searching for the quintessential Les Paul, you can stop here... you've found it. I have lusted after this instrument for 35 years and finally serendipity brought it to my hands. There simply is no finer Les Paul, apart perhaps from an actual 1957 vintage. This is a perfect recreation of that vintage in terms of looks, WEIGHT, feel, subtle aging of the nickel parts and of course that rich, deep PAF sound. If you want a superb Les Paul, this is the one. The neck is hefty... if you're used to a Strat. I had no issues with setup.
On a side-note... the professionalism, willingness to discuss a competitive price and friendly customer service exhibited by Sweetwater makes them the vendor of choice IMHO.
