Awesome guitar for beginners
Epiphone Power Players Les Paul
First off the guitar is really sharp looking, the sound seems a little deeper than other Epiphone Les Pauls. The price was an overriding part of my decision to purchase it. It is the least expensive of all 4 of my Epiphone Les Pauls and provides unique sounds and it is easy fingering for my arthritic hands. I whole heartedly recommend this selection to anyone.
While I'm at it, I'd also like to say all recommendations I've gotten from the Crews at Sweetwater have been spot on, I have never had a wrong item arrive at my home (unlike a competitor of theirs) and I've never had to call and complain about the gear I've received from (unlike another competitors of theirs), and finally, I'm not a big money client, but Brad and others treat me like I'm the most important Client. Within two days of each purchase, the Sound Engineers call me to ensure I'm satisfied with my Purchase, and if there's anything they can help me with, whether it's something I just bought or any trouble with any of my gear, even though I didn't buy it from them (something, none of their competitors do at all)
Perfect travel/couch/kid's guitar
The fit and finish on this is perfect. No orange peel or mistakes anywhere. I have always loved short scale or 3/4 guitars and this one rivals my original '58 Les Paul Junior for playability. I can see that I will be changing out the pickups, but I seem to do that on almost every guitar but these are pretty good. Kind of like a 57 Classic tone. I originally bought it for one of my grandsons to start learning to play but I might need to buy another for him before he starts grabbing my Gibson Custom Shop guitars. Anybody that is starting or even has a good collection of guitars will appreciate having one of these around.
Good but a little strange
This guitar is well-made. It plays well. I have small hands and I love the small neck. It sounds great. It's a real guitar that I would gladly take over many much more expensive guitars. I'm giving it 4 stars not 5 for one reason: the body is really tiny and it's actually hard to play sitting down. If you're buying this for a child that might be perfect, but for an adult you probably have to wear a strap or something while playing even if you are sitting. Just my personal preference.
