Gibson Les Paul Modern Lite Electric Guitar - Cardinal Red Satin Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Mahogany Body, Mahogany Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Cardinal Red Satin

The Les Paul Modern Lite by Gibson will impress with iconic Les Paul character carefully enhanced for improved comfort and modern demands! All this is accomplished while preserving the quintessential Les Paul sound with materials including a mahogany body, a mahogany neck, and humbucking pickups. The Les Paul Modern Lite’s mahogany body features thinner dimensions that make it more nimble onstage and easier to play for extended periods of time. A fresh satin finish shows off lots of mahogany woodgrain, which adds to the Modern Lite’s workhorse feel and stylish looks. Guitarists at Sweetwater are especially impressed with the Les Paul Modern Lite’s tasteful 498T and 490R humbucking pickups. Sonically faithful to prized vintage Les Paul humbuckers but subtly enhanced for hot-rodded output, these humbuckers offer more midrange response and better resistance to microphonic feedback. Crack open the next chapter of a Gibson legend with the Les Paul Modern Lite from Sweetwater!

Really nice

The sound is there. It's the feel that makes this so great. A guitar this light should not have this sound. Pretty wild.

Best guitar I've ever played

By Sweetwater Customer on January 3, 2024

I was excited when I read about the new Modern Lite series coming out, I thought it might be exactly what I was looking for. As it turned out, it exceeded my expectations. The guitar feels perfect in my hands, so much better than any of my other guitars. Workmanship is good, and the sound is Gibson Les Paul - so great. The only thing I would say is a negative, is the finish on the body. It's basically just painted mahogany, not the gorgeous maple cap you usually see on an LP. But this saves weight, so it's worth it. If you want a beauty queen, I have a PRS SE McCarty in faded blue, a truly gorgeous guitar. But it doesn't feel nearly as good in my hands and I don't pick it up as often as this LP. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

I love this guitar!

So...I am mainly a Bass player that started playing guitar out of necessity for recording. I write my own songs and I play all of the instruments. I have a fairly decent arsenal of guitars to begin with including a Goldtop Les Paul that I love so, when I saw this completely red Les Paul I knew I had to have it!
First let me just say that my Sales Engineer Eddie is great! He called me 10 minutes after I purchased the guitar and was in touch with me from the moment I bought it until it showed up at my front door. I opted to have the guitar plek'd and I had never done this with any of my other instruments. It is WELL WORTH IT! The action is great, there's no fret buzz, no sharp edges anywhere.
The 498T and the 490R pickups sound incredible through my Marshall 50w Origin and my Bogner mini. Playing rhythm has a percussive feel to it that I just love, and leads sound great!
The guitar is very lightweight and even though it not really an issue for me one way or the other as I mainly play the Bass in a live setting, I could see how the lighter weight could be a positive thing for someone that was going to have to play it all night long.
All in all I'm very happy with this guitar and can't wait to use it for my recordings!
The pictures don't do this guitar justice
