Latin Percussion LP193 Click Hi-hat Tambourine
Latin Percussion LP193 Click Hi-hat Tambourine Reviews
The Latin Percussion Click Hi-hat Tambourine mounts on the pull rod of your hi-hat stand and can be muted with the simple click of a button. The eight pairs of steel jingles produce a bright, crisp sound, and the high-density frame can be struck with the jingles in either the on or off position. This yields a satisfying percussive report either solo or in concert with the musical jingles. Sweetwater percussionists were quick to appreciate the tough ABS construction that ensures the Click Hi-hat Tambourine will perform reliably for years.
LP hi hat tambourine
Bought this for a tambourine effect on some of the rock songs I'm covering. It's a great extra sound maker that will mount over your hats, or over a cymbal.
I recommend a cymbal top mount for use with cymbal stand.
It's durable, looks and sounds cool.
The wingnut and drilled hole needs improvement.
Finally Got it Right!!
I've used other brands of hi-hat tambourines in the past and end up replacing them far too often; the glued-on plastic ring that is supposed to permit stick strikes falls off, the jingles fall off, and the thing begins to look like the cheap piece of junk that it really is. Not so with this must-have bulletproof jewel. I'm so glad I finally found something that delivers exceptionally crisp sound that wont break, and the mute function is also a nice bonus, although I've found it muted when I didn't intend for it to be, so I check it before each track. It is designed to stay mounted on the HH, although it isn't difficult to remove, it's not something that can be done mid-song as easy as the cheaper brands. All in all, it is rock solid and gets my highest recommendation.
Sounds good, but doesn't last
I've gone through 2 of these now and won't buy another. When I broke the first one, I thought it was a fluke. But the second one broke even more quickly. I just stripped the guts out of it and throw it up onto my hi hat for those couple of songs where I need it. Wish there was an all metal version of this.
Easy to use on of HH tambourine
I have times when I want to add a tambourine flavor to a number using the High Hat but do not want it on other songs. This provides a quick on off switch that avoids having to take the tambourine off and on between numbers.
Doesn't last even a year.
The plastic structure breaks. You don't even have to hit it (which I don't). Just the use of the click mechanism causes the plastic to stress break. I wouldn't recommend it. I went through 3 of these thinking I just got a bad one... but it's apparent it is a design flaw. LP did replace one of them which was nice but I can't abide breakage this many times.
LP Does It Again
A little pricy but its worth it. At first I was concerned that this would not be loud enough.
If you play very loud Music, you may want to use a double row of Jingles. Lots of choices.
I can say it fits nicely in the live mix. My Bass player loves it. The mute fetcher works well.
Hi Hat Tambourine adds a nice flavor. Some songs require it. If you are covering a track that has it,
its a good idea to use.
Long time Fan of LP products. Satisfied with this instrument.
Enjoy
Best Addition Ever
This is one of the best additions I've ever made to my kit. I love the sound it produces when it's muted; sounds like a mini stack.
Genius
This is perfect for anyone who loves to use their high hat to keep tempo, but wants the option to control if the tambourine sound is on or off. The other added plus is the sturdiness of the unit to be hit as well. Clicking down and up is easy. This is a mainstay for any drummer in a house of worship.
