JHS Mary-K Vintage-style Fuzz Effect Pedal Reviews
The Mary-K is JHS's modern take on the late-1960s Kay F-1 Fuzz Tone. The original made-in-Japan stompbox was a knobless, treadle-equipped monstrosity with a frail orange plastic housing and a juicy, flatulent fuzz tone. JHS's Mary-K delivers the same fuzz-drenched sound as its quirky predecessor, but with sturdy control knobs and a Mode button for added versatility. You also get an expression pedal input for replicating the original pedal's treadle-based operation. So, what can you do with the Mary-K? Well, it delivers Octavia-like textures when you crank it, and it pulls off Hendrix-ian leads and mind-bending psychedelic chords like a champ. Let's put it another way: if an Octavia and a Fuzz Face were merged into one unit, it'd be the Mary-K. No matter how many fuzzes you have on your pedalboard, there's always room for one more. And, odds are, you don't own anything that sounds like the JHS Mary-K.

Incredible Fuzz
Easily my favorite pedal for bass- the low end response is incredible and the overtones are unlike anything I've ever heard before!
