Laney LF 60-112 60-watt 1 x 12-inch Solid-state Combo Amplifier - Blue Reviews

60W, 2-ch, 1 x 12" Solid-state Guitar Combo Amp with HH Acoustics Speaker, FX Loop, Variable Wattage, Reverb, and Footswitchable Boost - Blue

Armed with two character-laden channels of Lionheart-inspired tones, the Laney LF 60-112 is a broad-gauged 60-watt combo amp that’s equally at home onstage and in the studio. In addition to a global 3-band EQ, each of this amp’s channels — a creamy Clean channel and a fiery Lead channel — sports a voicing switch for on-the-fly EQ changes. Next, an onboard boost lights the proverbial fire under your tone’s backside, while a Secret Path–derived spring reverb imparts lush space and a lively presence to your playing. Tonally, the LF 60-112 is a true jack of all trades. It’s also an effective studio and practice tool, thanks to a robust set of utility features, which include a transformer-isolated effects loop, a variable wattage control, an aux input, and a headphone jack. A 12-inch HH Acoustics speaker rounds out the LF 60-112’s stellar features. Able to tackle polished pop and blistering rock with equal aplomb, the versatile Laney LF 60-112 is ideal for musicians looking to storm the stage or add a new centerpiece to their recording rig.

Big Time Little Amp

By Justin H. from Houston, TX

This amp is so impressive. I was blown away by the sound, tone, and overall performance. It sounds like an old school tube amp and I would definitely purchase another one if needed. Beautiful amplifier

So Good

By Bob from LBC

I just received this amp today and it is so good. It has exceeded my expectations. It sounds great, and the low power bedroom mode is perfect for playing at night and not waking the family up. I have been shopping for a new amp, and I am super impressed with this! Just buy it already.

This is my new favorite amp! Running a couple of Strymon pedals through the clean channel and wow! Unbelievable sound for the money. I highly recommend this, you won't be disappointed.

Big Amp, Small Size

By Greg H. from Philadelphia, PA

I love how the Laney LF60 gives me the look and feel of a British sounding vintage amp, but is small and lightweight to be able to take with me. The amp is so easy to use and is able to give me that vintage crunchy 70's rock sound that I love. Highly recommended.

Awesome little amp

By Craig S. from Thurmond NC
Music Background: Semi pro. 40 years

I've had this little beast for a few months now and am enjoying it a lot.
I am running it 4 cable method with a Helix and it integrates seamlessly.
The preamp sounds great. Very warm and tubey. I have been using it mostly vs my Helix preamp models.
It's also very transparent in recreating my Helix tones with the cab block turned off on the Helix.
I do however use the Helix for my "pushed" edge of breakup tones vs the Laney. You have to crank the clean channel pretty good with the boost on to get that edge of breakup on the Laney. Plenty loud for stage work at small/medium venues with the 60 watts of power. I like the retro styling as well.

Very impressive little amp!

By Raul J. from Southwick, MA

I thought my Boss Nextune Stage sounded good till I play this Laney fl60 112 amp, Wow…..! The tone you get on this little amp is so flavorful and talking about laud, very LAUD! All I can say is one of the best investment I made. Is small, light and easy to get a good tone. I recommend this amp for practice and gig no question ask!

Lionheart

By bob e. from Lancaster
Music Background: well worn americana

I have had an interest in in the new lines of solid state analog amps that have appeared over the past few years. This certainly doesn't mean I don't love my tube amps...I do. But the idea of a light weight amp without tube issues started to appeal to me more and more. Short story, I have gotten an OrangeCrush35RT, an ElectoHarmonic DirtRoad Special, and a Quilter Aviator Cub, all amps that have been created to emulate tube tones in a totally analog solid state circuit. All three of these amps deserve attention. Although I have to say I am most disappointed with the Quilter in the way it responds to me. My touch just doesn't seem to stir its gain stage the way I would like. Anyhow, I saw these new Laneys and researched them and bought one. Glad I did. This amp responds to me just as I hoped it would. To me it definitely has the most tube like response and push/pull natural compression of any of the others. I play it mostly in the lead channel with a little boost and I can get all I need just using my volume knob, which is how I like to play. I am not a pedal guy. This amp gives me what I look for. I could probably sell the others and wouldn't miss them. My old trusty Fender isn't going anywhere or my VOX Pathfinder, however. The only thing that I do question on this amp is the power of the clean channel. It seems weak to me, but would probably work well with a pedal board and the boost that would give it. But that being said, I am very happy with this Laney Lionheart and very glad I got one. It has me thinking that maybe I prefer the British sound. Oh well, Live and Learn.

Excellent Clean Pedal Platform

By Al H. from Kalamazoo, MI

This amp is exactly what I'd been looking for. It's small and lightweight, loud (or quiet), and has a lot of clean headroom that makes it a perfect platform for pedals or a multi-effects unit, like my GT10. The multitude of many eq options (bright switch, tone knob, three band eq, dark switch) makes it easy to dial in the base tone you need. I mic mine with an MXL DX-2 and the FOH guys love it!
