Gorgeous Guitar

By Sweetwater Customer from MO
Music Background: Beginner/Intermediate

This guitar is stunning in person, with a sparkling finish that really pops. It sounds incredible and gives you a lot of guitar for the price. Features like push/pull controls and stainless steel frets make it feel high-end.

It's comfortable for small hands and surprisingly well-balanced not heavy at all. I can play for hours without back pain, unlike my PRS.

For the price, this is an amazing guitar. It's stage-ready, playable, and gorgeous. Highly recommended!

Added a Floyd Rose FRX!

By Griff from Washington D.C.

As if the Larry Carlton L7 blue sparkle burst couldn't get any more cool… I added a Floyd Rose FRX to it!
The install was clean and easy and it's the best sounding most stable Floyd system I've ever played. There's a different feel to it because of that coiled spring "plunger" mechanism instead of the two out three springs in back. It bends buttery smooth.
I always wanted a short scale guitar with a Floyd term on it, but they are majorly expensive because they have to change the neck angle to accommodate the Floyd when they manufacture it. With a Floyd FRX the neck angle doesn't matter.

I got mine a few days ago and it's... WOW!

By Griff from Washington, D.C.

The paint job on this guitar is spectacular. It sparkles so much it hurts your eyes.

The back of the neck is also painted in silver sparkle... but it's a satin finish! It's unbelievable how they did that.

The pickups are very hot and expressive. The neck pickup actually sounds very powerful, and is very different than the bridge pickup which gives this guitar many different sounds. The steel frets are slick as molten glass, and the rolled fingerboard is fantastic. The side dots glow in the dark and the nut is cut perfectly.

I can't find anything wrong with this guitar. Everything is top notch. . The quality is really that good. The paint job is out of this world. Photographs don't do it justice.

The body is also chambered this generation, and it is noticeably lighter and snappier than the L7's from the last generation.

It did come strung with Dragon Skin 10-46 strings, which I swapped out for D'addario's... but that's just what I'm used to playing.

I own a gold top Larry Carlton L7 from the last generation and that is a great guitar, too... but these next gen guitars surpass the old generation. At this price I could buy 3 or 4 Larry Carlton L7's for the price of one of the "big manufacturer's" L style guitars, and that's exactly what I'm going to do, and I won't feel at all like I'm missing out on anything. I won't have any regrets. Larry and the people at Sire hit it out of the ballpark with this generation.
