Sounds bad with Roland V-Drums V-71 drum module

By Hoang N. from Windermere, FL

For drummers like me who wonder why there are so few reviews of electronic drums on the Bose L1 Pro system—there's a reason. It sounds terrible.

I tried the L1 Pro 16 using Bose's 90-day return policy and spent a full week intensely trying to make it sound decent. In the end, I gave up and returned it. The system sounded great with my Roland grand piano, but with the Roland V71 drum module it was a completely different story. The sound was harsh, the kick had almost no low end, and the toms sounded like hitting trash cans.

Trust me, I tried everything—EQ, settings, positioning, different cables—you name it. On top of that, there was a very noticeable hiss once the volume hit around 50%. No matter what I did, I couldn't get past these issues. In the end, it had to go back.

Bose L1 Pro16 Portable Line-Array System with Sub

By Dennis V. from New Bern, NC
Music Background: Musician and Mobile DJ

I do some wedding DJ work and small private parties as well. I just received my new Bose L1 Pro16 Portable Line-Array System with Subs. This very portable line array system sounds so big and yet it's so easy to operate. This system is a game changer for mobile DJs, and I cannot wait to get out on my first gig with it next month. I know my customers are going to appreciate the clean deep bass tones along with the excellent high tones this system produces. A big shout out to my sales crew at Sweetwater, Ben Elder and Angie. You two are the best customer service reps in this business. Thank you very much guys!

Bose Pro16

By Greg from Chicago
Music Background: Dj, Live Band

I purchased a pair of these speakers to dj at smaller events. Coming from a pair of Rcf Evox J8's to this system and believe it or not this Bose sound system rocks! It definitely does more than I was expecting (using it weekly for half a year; parties 50-250 guests). I was going to add an extra subwoofer to cover medium events but after using this system for a few months I came to a solution that wont be necessary at all. There are venues I actually have to bring the low end down a notch. I use a pair of the Pro16's for 75% of my events including baptisms and weddings and I plan on keeping these for a while! Even with these new column array speakers coming out in 2025, somehow I am not interested in upgrading anytime soon.

Music Background: Mostly acoustic guitar. I have a 1973 Ibanez that has been modified and 2022 Taylor 814 CE. I recently bought a Fender Bass and just starting to learn how to play

Love the new Bose. Sounds great!! My only concern is the speaker column appears to be a bit unstable. My music room is almost complete so I should really be able to test in a few weeks. Working with Aaron at Sweetwater is always a pleasure, easy and painless. Thanks !!

Great PA System for the money.

By Mike from Orlando Fl
Music Background: Drummer / Vocalist

Bought this Item a month ago, so far so good.
What can you say for clarity, it's a Bose :)
The only thing I would of rather had if I had a choice was to put the Knobs and Plugins in the front. However, for stage appearance I get it. One might say " Just use the APP" Yes, that is an option but what I have found is their is a danger in the way the APP works with the Volume control. While trying to move the volume it jumps from low to high if not super extra careful with the control making it scary if you will, could suddenly over power the Speakers so, for me, Id rather not take that chance in damaging anything.
Therefore again for me it's an annoyance to constantly have to go to the back side to make adjustments in Volume or switch between Mic, Vocal or Inst. But I would still not trade it for anything Nor would I say don't buy it Just be aware of the APP Software sensitivities.
I gave it a 4.5 Star because of the APP Sensitivity issue on the volume knob part.
5 stars on the physical product.

I Own Two...

By DANNY H. from ROSEBORO, NC

I have these two Bose L1s for a large concert room at church. We have guest bands come in for singing services, and they usually bring their own speaker systems with their equipment. Once they hook up to my two Bose L1s, they agree the sound is the best they have heard. The use of just one Bose L1 is sufficient for most rooms. I would never buy anything but Bose. I also have two S1s for smaller church sings.

Great PA

By Aaron L. from Shawnee, KS
Music Background: Gigging Musician

I own 2 Bose s1 Pros, the L1 Pro 8, Pro 32, and now the pro 16. Sound wise the 16 is tied with the 32, and both blow the pro 8 out of the water. The main benefit of the 16 vs the 32 for me is the weight. I recently was playing an outdoor gig with the pro 32 and it got hit with a wind gust and toppled over. I was always concerned that the 32's base didnt weight enough. The pro 16 is not going anywhere. My biggest complaint with the pro 16 is also the weight. This bad boy is heavy. Everything is is wonderful. I'm not sure if Bose updated this product since launch or if I just got lucky, but there's no wobble that everyone talks about.

Bose L1 Pro 16

By Andrea C. from Snellville GA
Music Background: Mobile DJ

I have used Bose for over 40 years my first pair is the 901. Bose designed a great acoustical-sounding speaker. The highs and lows on them are music to your ears. You cannot go wrong purchasing these speakers right out of the box set up in 2 minutes and ready to play. I am a DJ who plays at various types of venues and they do not disappoint. From dinner music to hardcore dance music. The design pushes the music out a 180 degrees so every corner of the room receives the crystal clear sound that Bose speakers are known for.

Bose L1 Pro16 Meets My Need

By Michael R. from North Yarmouth, ME
Music Background: Gig regularly for past 30+ years. Acoustic and light Rock.

Many thanks to Alan Carter for helping me select this system for a specific type venue - A small bar/restaurant that has limited space and sonic challenges with patron background talking (all good). I wanted a quick setup/breakdown without sacrificing the quality sound I get from my QSCs. I play in an acoustic duo with some use of electric guitar, so I was worried about guitar sound through this array, as well as vocals. We have used this in practice and will know more about how this sounds in one of our bars this weekend. I've been able to dial in my acoustic guitar pedal board through a Soundcraft Signature 12 and it sounds awesome. Likewise, rather than bring in my large Headrush board, I am taking a Tech 21 5 V2 to use for both clean and dirty. Sounds alright for the songs we do, but it's a bit tricky to match all sounds. However, the purpose is to have a smaller pedal in our space. I'll add another quick review once I put all of this into the live setting.

Beast

By Chriz K. from Central WI
Music Background: Long term beginner guitar/bass/drums/sound

After a few months I can confirm this thing is awesome. I've used it for everything from solo acoustic gigs to a three piece band in a small hall (with external mixer for more inputs). Room filling sound with power to spare. Pro tip (from an actual pro I know): put it behind you and leave your monitors at home, let the anti-feedback magic do its thing. The only issue is now I'm probably gonna have to get a second one for stereo sound and the ToneMatch mixer!

Long time Wedding DJ review of the L1 Pro 16s after about 50 events.

By Jon W. from Plainfield, IL
Music Background: Wedding DJ for 25+ years

After DJing multiple sized venues and crowds including a gymnasium venue. My review of the Bose L1 Pro 16s.

*One other topic I wanted to add is on the 'Hissing problem" I've seen posted on various sites. I had this problem too but once I switched the input from XLR to 1/4 inch speaker cable the hissing went away. Also make sure you adjust the Unity gain for these speakers. My gains are MUCH different (lower) using these speakers vs traditional style DJ speakers.

Very Impressed

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: String player, composer, engineer.

Bought this from Evan Neiman (thanks Evan!) and set it up at home. Called a guitar player?singer friend and we hooked it up to a Mackie Onyx series analog mixer. So we had Electric violin, Acoustic?electric guitar and 1 vocal going into the Bose. I turned the Bose channel 1 and 2 up to about 25% and let it go. We were both pleasantly surprised at how good it sounded. It filled my 2100 sq. ft. house with studio quality sound. I am very happy and look forward to using it in venues. I feel there is a good chance that the Bose will be the best sounding P.A. they have heard. I won't be surprised if my friend doesn't buy one for himself!

Great PA for solo or duo if you can find one that doesn't hiss!

By Karl T. from Morro Bay CA
Music Background: Songwriter, Singer guitarist.

I purchased this Bose PA pro 16 as I have a friend who has one and it sounds great! Only problem is quality control at Bose seems to be lacking as many of these units have a audible and annoying hiss when you turn it on. Unfortunately, I received one of the units that hisses. My friends pro 16 is dead quiet.

I get that powerful high watt PA's might have some hissing when you crank up the gain but mine started hissing at a relatively low volume (9 o'clock on the dial). Mine also had a louder hiss at 10 o'clock then 11 o'clock on the dial- which is just bizarre! When you are paying 2K for these units- that is most unacceptable.

The big question is why are some units quiet with no hissing but some have a loud very noticeable hiss?

I returned mine and will unfortunately have to go to a bricks and mortar music store to try one out in person and make sure the one I get doesn't hiss.

Game Changer

By Brian from Palo Alto, CA
Music Background: Lifelong musician (rock, blues, acoustic)

I got both the pro8 and the pro16. I play small acoustic gigs with the pro8.

With my band, we use no amps (including no bass amp), and we use the pro8 as the monitor/left/main, and the pro16 as the main/right/monitor. Both are kind off to the side, but the pro8 is a little closer to the drummer and the pro16 is closer to the bassist and the audience. We use an x32rack for a mixer, and learn separate eq functions in the room for both the pro8 and the pro16 with a good mic and pink noise. We use fractal sims for the guitars, and the bass comes through tube sims and compression in the x32.

With larger shows, we add traditional 15s and another sub as the foh, and with a learned eq for that part too.

The result is fairly consistent sound everywhere we go, without a lot of tweaks before or during the show. The bose things are both much flatter (than any of my traditional speakers) when measured in a real setting where dispersion matters. Comparing the two, the 16 goes lower, is louder, and spreads/projects further into the room. It's better, but they're similar too. Feedback can still happen, but you can go a long way with a flat response and if you think about where the nulls are for the mics (keep the bose thingies to the side, and not straight behind the mic, so the directionality of the mic can help reduce feedback).

Having two is better than 1 (stereo effects, panning, and some amount of mon/main level tweaks), and with the bass of the 16, the second being an 8 feels like a good choice (cheaper, smaller, and still plenty loud). 1 for a full band, even a 32, might be kind of odd, with no panning and no spatial delay/reverb/modulation.

They seem plenty loud, but the input gain is fairly hot, so I keep the bose thingies around 10 o'clock, and run the x32 so the output signal is around -25dB from its peak. If the bose thingies are higher than that, then you hear more input noise, if you're in a quiet studio (I've never heard any noise in a real setting). I don't have a way to measure dB SPL, but it feels like 100ish (drummer loud), with lots of apparent headroom in the x32 when we need to bump it up a bit.

To me, being able to tweak the eq for the room (measured) helps too much not to have. Also these bose thingies don't have an explicit compressor for the vocal channel. So even for small gigs, I'm still using the x32 with the pro8.

Our sound was fairly transparent before adding these guys. Now it's more consistent around the room, and I can almost jam all of it, and my guitar, into a 2 seater. Much nicer than the old-school stuff. Should have bought it years ago.

This Beast Roars!

By Tom M. from Western Pennsylvania
Music Background: Guitarist, bassist, DJ

I bought this to upgrade my older Bose L1-Compact and I am glad I did. The sound quality of the Pro 16 is great, the control features are amazing and the flexibility of the Pro 16 is outstanding. I am using this to play my bass through on small gigs, sing through, and DJ with. It is a very flexible item. There are two things I am not satisfied with. First is the poor design of how the speaker pole is attached. Terrible design and I am at a loss to understand how the geniuses at Bose came up with this clearly sub-par idea. To try supporting that vulnerable, heavy speaker pole with such a weak connection point and with such little support is crazy. I feel certain this support/connection will eventually fail and break. Second, the device allows wireless control from my phone using an app. I love that idea. But, the controls on the app are incredibly difficult to manipulate. Bottom line is this thing is very flexible and sounds great. But, it does have some issues. these two items should have been worked out.

Love It!

We play many house shows and this system is just perfect for ease of set-up and performance. We paired it with a Mackie 8 channel board and we're happy with this purchase. Love the light weight and ease of load-in/load-out. We recently played an outdoor show and paired this system with two Mackie powered speakers - all good for our use. 3 Vocals, keys, acoustic guitar - no mics on drums and bass.

Vocals not loud enough!

By Rajeev V.
Music Background: Vocals and karaoke

The Bose L1 pro 16 is easy to set up.. design is great ..however the function is bad.. the speaker the extender and array seem to fit poorly.. this is quite obvious.. don't know how bose approved it??. Also the bag for the array and extender only has one zip pull on it.. even cheap bags have two..they sell the flimsy cover for 40£ Which is a dust jacket mainly..
The sound is great for instruments and line level inputs on the aux.. blue tooth is fine.. however the vocals via standard mic with correct tone match presets are not even as loud as the Bose compact..(even though the wattage is bigger).. needs 50% volume even in a small room of 20 x20. While the aux only needs 20%. Reverb is mild and sometimes audible not wowed by it.

However there is no "boxiness" open and clear sound.. however not loud enough.

I used to set my Bose L1 compact at a lower volume for the same effect. Hence kicking myself now for having sold that and buying this, the more expensive, heavier but quieter L1 pro 16.

For a vocal heavy performance, The audience need to be super quiet or you won't be heard unless the singers are naturally loud.

Disappointing

By Will from Seattle
Music Background: Gigging solo singer/guitarist

Really wanted to like this thing. I've had an L1 Compact for a few years now, done a few hundred gigs with it. I expected this to be as convenient and straightforward as the compact was. Step one, plug it in. Step two, turn it on. Done. I liked the compact, I just wanted more bass. And until a few years ago I could have just bought an external bass unit, but Bose doesn't offer them anymore, basically because they want you to buy a new system. First time a plugged it in and turned it on I noticed a pretty loud hiss. Sounded like the air being let out of a tire. I had read that this model had some hissing issues but bought it anyway. And yes. For sure. This system hisses and it is not subtle. Second, I wanted more, but there's just too much bass. There's a lack of crispness and clarity. It sounds muffled, almost like underwater. So I used the app to set my eq settings, sounded a lot better. I took it to my first gig with it and the app wouldn't connect, so I had to do the gig from the default settings because I'd only used the app and didn't have time to fiddle with the manual interface. Did two more gigs with it. For starters the app often doesn't work. Some of the settings can't be put in manually (like selecting optimization for specific instruments or equipment, like what guitar or mic you have), so you need the app. Tried to get someone on the phone at Bose to see if there was any way to install my scene as a default setting so I didn't have to mess with it every gig, but I never got through and they never called me back (their system asked me if I wanted a callback and I replied yes). I'm solo and I don't use a mixer because I've never needed one. I was told my solution would be to buy a TS4. So more than twice the price of my compact AND I have to buy a mixer? Only because of this weird interface that I don't have time to scroll through every time I set up? I don't have roadies or a sound guy and I just don't have time. It would be one thing if I did a gig a month, but I do two or three a week and I don't have time to sit with this clunky interface and dial all my settings in. I just need to plug it in and turn it on. That's how my Compact always was. Aside from that, it's got a loose, clunky feel. The post that holds the tower to the subwoofer feels very loose and flimsy. I play a lot of bars where there are a lot of drunks. Someone leaning on the thing, not even particularly hard, would easily break it. Any of these issues alone would be fine. But all of them put together, combined with Bose's lack of interest in helping me (or at least answering my questions) just made me hate looking at the thing and send it back. It doesn't even sound particularly great. I personally think the Compact sounds better. Sweetwater was great though. I HATE sending stuff back like that. It was my first purchase from them. David, who sold me the unit, was awesome and I felt terrible. But this thing was just one big headache and at the price that's just not gonna work. If anyone at Bose reads this review by the way, I might not have ended up sending this thing back, even if the answer had been no. But if I'm gonna spend two grand on a new system, I really don't think it's asking much for me to just expect someone there to answer a few questions. Good riddance, Bose.

This is the most critical review you'll probably read

By GCH from Washington DC

The Bose L1 Pro 16 is very cool, and we really wanted to like it. From transport to set-up, to configuring the technology (ironically) makes it cave-man-simple. We loved the idea of no monitors and one vocal sound source (we got it just for vocals).

I play in jazz trio with vocals (and sometimes piano). We are not loud, which has become niche for our gigs. As quiet as we are though, we could not get the singer's mic levels up loud enough without feeding back.

The Pro 16 would probably be great for instrument only (like amplified upright bass, or a keyboard), but for vocals your limited to a guitar only.

It's a great product, just didn't work for us, and probably won't for you either if you are in a band with bass and drums and are using it primiarliy for vocals.

Of course, TEN STARS to Sweetwater. They made the return process uber-simple.

Worth the extra cost!

By Shawn

Greg Lanning at Sweetwater was an absolute pleasure to speak with. I explained to him that I wanted to run two vocals with bass and keyboard backing tracks, along with live guitar and drums. While there were less expensive options, he recommended the Bose L1 Pro. I went with the Pro16 only because I wanted to have the extra power if needed. I have only tried it in smaller rooms (maybe 75 people), the vocals were crystal clear, plenty of lows for bass and keys sounded incredible. I have not gotten anywhere near its maximum power and it is plenty loud. Greg is extremely knowledgeable and I will trust him with any of my musical needs. The Bose L1 Pro is pricey but worth every bit of it!

Bose L1 Pro 16 - Amazing

By Mark R. from MI

I first heard the L1 series several years ago when a friend bought the L1 Compact. Having heard hundreds of small room PAs over the year's I was extremely impressed with coverage and fantastic full-range sound. Now having heard the Pro 16, I can say the experience continues through the product range. It sounds consistently great in all listener locations in a large room. Singing or speaking, the human voice through the Pro 16 sounds clear and warm. I will also say that the overall volume level for the unit size makes you stop and say wow - music and vocals remained clear at higher volume levels.

Music Background: Over 50 years of performing. Playing guitar, singing, and yodeling

I used the pro16 for the first time and it was exceptional. It was linked with my tone match 8 with my four piece band. I feel like Bose could have engineered a more sturdy mounting system for the line array speaker. That is the only part of the unit which makes me nervous. Over all it sounds fantastic and I look forward to future gigs with it.

Bose L1 Pro 16

By Tom H. from San Diego, CA
Music Background: Vocalist

The new Bose L1 Pro 16 adds another dimension to our existing Bose sound system. We use 2 Bose F1's, 4 Bose L1 Compacts, 2 Bose S1's. The new L1 Pro 16's help bring up the Bass as well as adding to the highs. The most important aspect to these speakers is that they are powerful enough to use by themselves for an at home rehearsal or a small venue gig of 100+ people. One L1 Pro 16 would be good enough for a guitarist and microphone playing in a coffee shop or restaurant.

Amazing!!

By Sweetwater Customer from Normal, IL
Music Background: Worship leader and traveling artist.

I just got the 16 unit set and couldn't wait to try them out. I was not disappointed! I have been traveling and singing for 40 years using professionally recorded, studio quality, backing tracks to sing with in houses of worship and medium sized auditoriums.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the backing tracks sound with the Bose. Even the older recordings from 30 years ago sound Clean, clear, crisp, smooth bass. I didn't have any of the harsh highs and lows that I have had with my other speakers. I was a bit skeptical about the "racetrack" bass concept and wondered if it would meet my expectations for punchy low notes without the distortion when I cranked it up. Mission accomplished. I ran the music through the Bluetooth functionality and then through the Bose tone match 8 mixer and both sounded great.

The system was simple and easy to set up. I had both speakers assembled and placed in about 10 minutes and the sound dispersion was really good. I also like the portability factor. 50 lbs is much more reasonable for me and I can carry each bass unit using one arm thanks to the handle being on top of the speaker rather than on the side's of it.

One thing I did not like it's how flimsy the stick became when I added the included height extender to raise the stick. Beside the fact that it is plastic and looks cheap, it is so flimsy that I just won't risk using it. I'm also not a fan of the stability of the normal stick set up as it seems like it could come apart from the bass bin fairly easy if an " unauthorized " user were to push on it. I also think Bose should include a built in set of wheels on the back bottom of the unit so that it can be tipped back and moved around.

I'm not a huge fan of Blue tooth because it can be unreliable and drop the signal at the most in opportune times. Not good if you are in the middle of a song using prerecord music. For those people that want to use it though, it was easy to use pair up both units to run the music in stereo which I do.

I found the L1 App to be a nice touch and was easy to use. Unlike the Turbosound app, it has a simple interface that matches the back panel of the unit. Each channel has a it's own knobs that adjust volume, bass, and treble. I realize their are those folks who will not use Bose products and I'm not a die hard fan of any product or company unless I can get the sound that I want within my budget. But I feel this one is going to be a great addition to my collection.

I have a pair of S1 Pros, and they have a place for certain uses but their limitations become clearly evident fast and a pair of them cost roughly the same amount as one L1 and are no comparison soundwise - realizing that they aren't intended to be.

I also have a pair of Turbosound IP3000's which also sound great but are more complex when it comes to getting the right sound. Even with .wav tracks, it takes alot of work to get the music to sound right and the Turbosound app is lousy and requires a lot of adjustments to get the sound that I need. The other thing about the 3000's, is the weight. At nearly 100 lbs each, it becomes a challenge for 1 or 2 people to move the speakers around and load and unload them - even with the optional hand cart wheels. The shape of the IP's also make it difficult to put in a trunk or backseat. Don't get me wrong, the Turbosound units kick butt once you have them set right but it takes work and they are heavy and the Bose speakers seem to be better proportioned for my current needs.

Overall, this one is a winner and I would recommend them for the use and reasons above. I order all my gear exclusively through Sweetwater and am a very happy with their service and I am happy with this purchase.

Bose L1 Pro16

By Jeff I. from Lost Angeles
Music Background: Performing Live for over 40 YEARS (that's right)

Prior to Covid I was playing 6 gigs a WEEK with the previous Bose L1 Model II. When you play this much, you want great sound and something that is easy to carry around and setup. I sold my Model II to pick up this one because it is one complete unit that can fit into the corner of a restaurant. For half of my restaurant gigs, I use the little Bose S1 on a small stand and it's super portable and sounds fantastic. So good, that I almost bought another one to go stereo (separate your L/R to each unit). The S1 by itself on a stand will easily cover a small restaurant of 75 people or so. Yet, after hearing this new Pro 16, I'm sooooo glad I got it. The mixer and phantom power is built right into the unit and it also uses an app so that you can control it with your iPhone. The app separates two types of bluetooth on your phone so that you can use the app for the mixer AND play music from your phone at the same time, brilliant. There are also a bunch of settings in the app to help to dial in your sound, a variety of guitars, horns, even accordion. Regarding the ONE button for phantom power which applies to BOTH main inputs, the system applies the phantom only to a mic cord, not to your typical 1/4" guitar cord. The size and weight of the bass unit is pretty big so if that's an issue, go with one or two S1's and you'll still sound great with much less stuff to lug around.

SOUND - Comparing the Pro16 to the full blown L1 Model II, I have to say that I like this new one better. My initial observation was that the "racetrack" bass driver was a little less tight and punchy as the old one but it still sounds BIG. I felt that my old L1 Model II sounded bright and punchy whereas this new Pro16 has found a better medium in that space between the bass and treble. I think that two of these split L/R would be great for a DJ too. Using a condenser mic with the phantom sounds friggin awesome. Everyone and their mother is a "singer" and most everyone will sound "good" with this unit. These Bose units are really designed for that "acoustic guitar/singer" guy but the sound has become much more versatile for keyboards or anything that you want to plug into it. Having 16 little drivers in the stick is enough I think, as 32 would bring more brightness than I would desire personally (I have not heard the 32 so take that comment with a grain of salt). Back to the racetrack bass driver, my old car stereos always sounded awesome. To use these designs in this level of "pro" audio makes complete sense to me. If you're a true "audiophile", not just a person that can afford audiophile equipment but somebody that really understands SOUND and TONE, round speakers are still number one because the best sound is ROUND. Like Zakk Wylde's guitar tone, ROUND.

One other important thing, I'm usually sitting NEXT to the unit. With the previous L1, I couldn't hear myself well enough to make adjustments to my sound without getting in front of it. With this new one, I can hear everything when I'm sitting next to it. I keep the unit at my right side so that I can just reach over and adjust the setting on the bass unit if I need to. Or, just use the app which is a little more cumbersome with my fat manly fingers. You'll also have plenty of clean power with this guy. If you're thinking about using the S1 as a monitor, you won't really need it if you're going solo or as a duo. I think that I would add the S1 it in a band setting though. One thing to note is that though the S1 sounds great, it sounds "different" from the Pro16. So, it wouldn't be the best reference for the tone but more for volume in your face in a louder setting.

Dislikes though few is that although they give you a travel bag for the stick speaker, there's no bag for the bass unit which is an optional accessory. For $... you should be giving me that stinking bag, gimme a break Bose. Now I have to spend another $... Number 2, I'm sure that Bose designed the unit but maybe somebody else designed this goofy shipping box. For my love of Bose, I won't comment further on it. Number 3, there's no manual included with the unit, I guess you just download it. Again, for two gees, I want a friggin manual that I can thumb through and keep with the unit without having to fiddle with my phone or iPad. Yes, I'm old school but us old school guys are the only ones that can even afford these things.

Final thoughts: This is perfect for a solo or duo or maybe even a jazz trio or quartet. Also good for a band using acoustic guitars. It could even be used in a band with electric guitars if people are considerate with their volume. I would go for something else in a louder rock band type of setting but for ME personally, this thing is IDEAL!!! Hats off to Bose for finally putting the mixer and reverb into the unit. MILLE GRAZIE!!!

I sent it back. Extremely disappointed

By Dustin A. from Florida
Music Background: Worship Leader / Songwriter 20+ years

Didn't have a good experience with the L1 Pro 16. The line array spacer was made of very poor material that made the entire line array rock back and forth. One wrong person leaning a little on it and it would break easily. The Speakers have a high pitched hiss (even when nothing is plugged in) and it gets louder as you turn up the volume. There is only one reverb setting on the app and it's not a very good reverb. I sent mine back as did many others I've talked with. I did a 4 part video on YT that shows all of this. Extremely dissatisfied. However the old L1 systems are great. Hopefully we can get back to those sometime soon

Extremely Happy

By Sweetwater Customer

This particular Bose came in last week and I cannot be more ecstatic about the sound this provides. It is CRYSTAL clear. No issues with the system. Love the Tonematch settings that come on board. Thank you for adding Reverb to this system.
I've been practicing everyday since receiving it. It is so very easy to put this together and use it.

To be fair, while the system is great. The app has not let me use it. Each time I've tried to access it, it asks for the privacy statement to be accepted. However, after accepting it, the app sticks. Won't move beyond that. I'm fine with this for now. I'm hoping to find a workaround for this because that is unacceptable.

Glad I got the Bose L1 Pro 16 instead of the L1 Pro 8

By Lewis T. from San Jose, CA
Music Background: Technical Engineer

I have been a Bose user for more than 30 years and I was amazed with this set. Good Bass with a new Subwoofer design speaker and powerful enough for my purpose.
It's totally plug and play which is one of the greatest feature.
I decided to give it a try because I need a system that is all in one and looks good.
It's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.
