Love this BOX

By Doc Arcana from Winchester, VA on September 26, 2022 Music Background: Studio Engineer

It runs well at very low latency
better than my Scarlett 18i8, better than the PreSonus this replaces
I dont have any issues with it ever (two years of almost daily use)
I am a NI fanboi and I use an MKIII and JAM simultaneously with this and zero problems.

It is plasticy, but I've beat it up and it has a couple scratched but still performs flawlessly.

Best audio interface for the money

By Brian on March 2, 2021 Music Background: Profesional

I've been using this interface on my DAW for years. Works amazing under heavy demands.

Great Interface at a Great Price Point

By Preston C Hart from OR on November 13, 2020

I use this with a Maschine Plus to add extra inputs and outputs, and also with a Surface Pro 7 tablet. The outputs are DC coupled so I can use it to send CV to modular gear. It is lightweight, sleek and well built. It sounds great, too.
Another reviewer did not like the NI instruments that were included. I totally disagree...I think they sound awesome. Monark sounds very close to my hardware Moog, and the Replika delay is one of my go-to delays. I think they're excellent.

Great piece of hardware & Great value

By Ronnie Prada from FL on August 20, 2020

The KA6 Mk2 is a great piece of hardware. Not to mention Native instruments includes a bunch of great software with the interface. I'm currently running a mic, guitar, and have ran a synth through the interface via 1/4" cables and MIDI and I find that the buffer lag is practically non existent/0. The tone from the instruments sound very nice, warm and crystal clear which really does make all the difference with recording VIA daw and using it in a live setting. And for those of you on the fence about getting this piece of hardware because it looks "plasticy", don't be fooled, this interface is pretty solid, has some weight and most of the body is made out of some sort of metal type material with the exception of the glass face that indicates the gain/clipping of inputs. The knobs and buttons also feel top quality. So far, I only have great things to say about the KA6 Mk2 and look forward to using this product for a long time coming. I want to thank my sales engineer Patrick Lantz for the excellent service and immediately reserving and shipping one of these interfaces for me as soon as it came back in stock.

Fantastic Interface

For $ this is the best Interface money can buy. Pristine Preamps and wonderful outputs. Well built and looks very elegant. Overall a great buy.

Perfect for rackmount sound modules

By Sweetwater Customer on October 2, 2019

This is probably the best option if you need to hook up synths with an S/PDIF coaxial connection, without having to pay a ton for extra functionality you don't need. My Fantom XR and Motif Rack XS have issues with the analog outs, but this interface's digital connections fixed all the sound problems I was having. It almost works right out of the box, you just need to download the right driver from the NI site.

A serious upgrade

By Charles Giles from Wheaton, Illinois on August 25, 2019 Music Background: Audio recording production

I had been using the first generation of the Komplete Audio 6 for several years. It was a good interface and when the second generation was announced I quickly decided to upgrade. This new unit is a serious advance. The fact that two headphones can be attached, each with its own volume control really makes a difference in simplifying wire up (no need to include a separate headphone amp to allow a second pair of headphones). Also the electronics are improved. In the first generation there was sometimes a ground fault hum that was detectable. Not with this new unit. It is completely black when gain is null. Very happy with the purchase.

Great Interface!!

By @godsrockstar from Wesley Chapel, FL on July 29, 2019 Music Background: MD/Songwriter

I HAD to write this review because of the person that wrote their review based on the software and gave it a bad rating not because the unit was bad but because they didn't like the software. NO BUENO! This is my second NI K6. I still have my original which is going strong and is built like a tank. I wanted/needed a 2nd because I hate having to disconnect a lot of gear. First the sound on this is super clean & I don't have any latency issues. The build quality is the same like the original whereas the look is quite different. You still have the big knob feature which is great but now it's a sleek black design with no stainless steel mixed in. So you lose the phantom power button in back which isn't a big deal & they have added another headphone jack which is BIG deal! So to address the other reviewers software situation....YOU DON'T BUY THIS FOR THE SOFTWARE lol sheesh! You buy this cause it's that freaking good of a piece of hardware. People shouldn't be allowed to give reviews if they can't actually review the product being sold not the freebies.

Recomindded

By Beslie A. from irvine on July 26, 2019 Music Background: I go to online university for producer

run great on my 2018 macbookpro
no issue with software or crashing down

down in chair because hard time seeing but maybe you taller
not problem

Does not pass the test of time

By Zuzu on April 14, 2022

Everybody I know who owns this including myself have said the same thing. It's great until it's not. The cheap plastic materials are not durable. The big volume knob in the top broke on mine after a year or so. The preamps are now noisy for some reason, and overall the build just isn't the best. However I must add that I travelled a lot with it and used it live in my keyboard rig so that definitely didn't help with the wear and tear. So maybe it is good in a stationary setting, but if you're going to be moving with it get a stronger build like a focusrite. Also, if you want something durable that will last, this is not the right interface for you.

good interface, bad software

By Greg M from Austin, Texas on July 18, 2019 Music Background: been playing for a few decades, mostly rock

I recently bought the original Audio 6 interface, and it's a good, well built interface, no problems there. BUT...one of the factors that influenced my decision to buy the Audio 6 was the included free Native Instruments software. I was thinking the software made the Audio 6 a better overall deal. I downloaded the NI software to check it out, and it's TERRIBLE. All of the included NI software ( The Gentleman, Monark, Drumlab, Replika, Guitar Rig Elements, Kontact, Komplete Control, Reactor, and Tractor LE ) looks and works like it's 10 years old, ESPECIALLY compared to similar and MUCH better software from Arturia. Plus the software is unreliable...frequently locks up on my very current MAC for no apparent reason. So...if you like the interface itself, fine, go for it. But DON"T buy it thinking the NI software makes it a batter bang for the buck!!! Companies like Arturia are CRUSHING Native Instruments when it comes to software.

Do not, under any circumstances, purchase this unit

By Sweetwater Customer on July 15, 2020

As they say, you get what you pay for. I was using this in a small Studio One 4 powered environment and with the latest driver updates, it stopped working and we lost the ability to complete all of our current projects. Rolling back drivers did not help, and Komplete has zero customer support. Just a forum with users all complaining of the same thing. Overall, I am very unhappy I didn't go with a more mainstream name. This is not well tested, poorly designed, and in general, impossible to troubleshoot should you run into a problem their automated online "wizard" cannot resolve. As a result, I'm out a couple hundred dollars, when I could have just payed a little bit more for something that works. In summary, stay away from the VST companies that want to get in on the action for audio interfaces. It's just a money opp for them -- they don't take the hardware seriously.
