Behringer kid 15

By Kenneth Gagnon from MA on March 19, 2024 Music Background: Played in many church bands for many years and still playing every day using my korg nautilus 73 key I also use that amp and a old Roland amp 18” speaker my amp stand keyboard stand all from sweetwater and that’s all thanks to my great sales rep Aaron And

I am very pleased with this low cost low end amp it has a lot of features other more expensive amps don't have it has some effects it has a 6 or 7 band equalizer it has surprisingly pretty good sound 15" speaker I use it every day as a monitor in my humble opinion for the money you can't go wrong I would buy again

Excellent

Nice price point, nice features, sounds good, handles bass quite nicely. I use the KXD15 as part of my PA system for low end instruments, drum machine and bass sounds with another speaker for vocals. It does the job and since it handles the low frequencies it sits on the floor. It has plenty of power for my band's needs.

Get a pair

By Daniel from Fl on May 24, 2023 Music Background: Keyboard player, many decades.

Looking for a rig that can handle keys, maybe bass with them, possible a vocal too, that has a sub out, with a small built in mixer, decent effects if needed, can do true stereo or small footprint mono….as needed? I did. Sounds very good, for the investment. It's not light, but that was down on my list of things I wanted. It's 50lbs, each. So I got two. No regrets, no buyer's remorse. I checked out all the options. I still have my ancient Barbetta, this sounds as good, maybe better low end. Noise floor is not a big deal live. If recording with it spend time properly gain staging everything.
Another set of tweeters would be nice, elevated….but that's what the line out is for. It sounds amazing with serious high end on keys. With two of them live, you'll never need your sub out.

Great Keyboard Amp

By Moses Reyes from Apopka, Florida on March 27, 2023 Music Background: Gospel and Folk

The more I use Behringer products, the more I like and trust in them.

Behringer sells real value at a still reasonable price,
and easy to use.

The sound on my keyboard amp is pure and clean, and most of all LOUD,
like a lot of musicians like their music.

The amp doubles as a PA with a nice range of effects,
so that is really helpful when I need to plug in a mic.

Thanks, Behringer, thanks, Sweetwater,
for letting the music play.

Excellent!!!

WOW, WHAT AN AMP

By Ron from Wisconsin on July 20, 2018 Music Background: Playing keys for 60years

Play keys, have a montage 6 and 7 and hammond xk1. Been using a QSC three way 1000 watt amp, and this little behringer just blows it away.. crisp highs and deep bass. I was leery because it only has two speakers, but it really kicks. If your tired of lugging around heavy gear, give this little guy a try.. the QSC costs me $1300. Anybody need an amp??

Behringer Ultratone KXD15 Keyboard Amp

By Patrick Simmons from California on June 18, 2018 Music Background: Keyboardist for 35 years

I have had keyboard amps like my Roland 550 and my Barbetta but this amp blows them away in clarity ! I have always had to run my keyboards threw a mixer then to the amps just to clean up that "Muffeled" sound like someones got a sock in there mouth. Using various studio monitors at home I love the clean sound but with keyboard amps that all goes away and I've strived to get even a slight bit close to that with a keyboard amp with no avail . This Behringer is like a breath of fresh air, no mixer needed ! The EQ and sound from what ever the hell behringer did is awesome and very crisp and clean. I just bought a second one last week to add to the other one so I can do my outside gigs with not a worry for good awesome sound and to punch it up a notch I use my Roland 550 as a sub. "WOW" talk about kickin some serious butt for sound. "It Just Rocks" ! Thanks Dave Brow and Sweetwater for getting me to try this new amp, I love it. Pat Simmons

Great Amp

By Sweetwater Customer from Michigan on March 1, 2018

Great Amp. A lot lighter than my old Roland KC-500, but just as loud! The modeling effects sound great with the right instrument, and this amp has some character which I found lacking with my Roland amp. Behringer has been putting out some great products!

Blown Away

By Marc W. Gagne Sr. from Stark NH on June 15, 2017 Music Background: Working musician

I just received my new Berhinger KXD15 Amp and I have to say, the best of the best !
And I've had most of them! It is just the right size and not too heavy.
Purchased this amp to serve multi purposes. My main one was a drum amp for my Roland TD30KV Pros
The highs, mids and lows are unbelievable and has splenty of power, great Sound, features and Quality.
I plugged it in the wall, hooked up my Roland's and when I played I was Blown Away!
It will be used in small venues as my drum and vocal amp(via 4 Chanel's and effects) and when I play the larger ones it will serve as my monitor via stereo line outs to my Front end PA System.
It will also be used for rehearsals.

Great amp!

By Brian on August 25, 2016 Music Background: Teacher, performer, bachelors music composition.

This amp replaced the k3000 or something like that. This new amp is so much smaller than the original I thought either sweetwater sent me the wrong amp or I ordered the wrong one.

It has the same 15" speaker as before, and the tweeter, but it has 600 watts of power instead of 300!! And it's smaller which means it is also lighter.

I use this in several ways-I use it at church where I play keyboards with a split bass, I teach with it, and when I replace the old one I will start to use this with a xk3 Hammond organ pro system and a Leslie 2101. That 15" speaker handles the organ lows with no problem.

In the last concert we did in a 300 seat auditorium, we used this one as a stage monitor coming across the stage from a bose 3 unit for vocals. These are very flexible amps,

Great Amp

By Rich from Durango, CO on January 28, 2016 Music Background: Played since 7, piano, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, keytar, melodica, juice harp

Just good all around. Light to carry, FX better than my previous Behringer KDX3000 (that I abused), double the wattage. My vocals sound SO good using my Shure wireless in channel 1 - makes me want to get another speaker for stereo link. Keytar Bass sounds awesome.

Worth the $$$ for sure. Behringer keeps getting better.

Amazing Keyboard/PA Am

By Joseph P. Carlino from Rochester, NY on October 16, 2015 Music Background: Self taught piano with sporadic lessons over the years and singer mostly old time rock.

This is an amazing amp. I purchased it as a practice amp with a drummer. I'm on keyboard split base. The bass is a fat bass that truly sounds like you really have a bass player with you. (Always shows up for practice lol)The high end keys also sounds amazing. I put my keyboard split bass, vocals through this two singers and it doesn't even bog down one bit. I'm in two duos keyboard and drums playing small classy establishments with baby boomers who like to dance to 50's and 60's music. This little amp fills the practice room. I haven't used it on a gig yet. You would have to look closer to see there is not a large PA with monitors etc. So far have been blown away at practice. Can't wait to try this on a gig.

With one duo I have a Roland KC550 amp which is also an incredible amp. However, extremely heavy to move up and down stairs. This amp puts out the same way and is much lighter only 50 lbs. I'm 70 years old and am doing light as possible. Gone are the days of the Hammond B3. I play a light roland 300GX piano only 35 lbs. So the two instruments that fill the room are the 35lb piano and 50lb Behringer keyboard amp. Its amazing the sound this thing has. I would have purchased two of these instead of the Roland but was advised that the Roland is just a tad better. I didn't experience that. This thing is built like a tank and performs well and easy to move around. It also has feedback filters which the Roland does not. So I get feedback with the Roland and not with the Behringer. So far I have been very pleased with this amp. A plug for my sales guy. Anthony Longono. He rocks with service.

YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED

By DOC PEARSON from TEXARKANA, ARKANSAS on September 16, 2015 Music Background: SINGER SONGWRIGHTER

THE SOUND IS UNBELIEVABLE. SO REALISTIC. SO CLEAR. THE BASE SOUNDS ARE WARM DEEP. THE MIDS ARE LUSH AND WONDERFUL. I PLAYED MY TYROS 5 KEYBOARD THROUGH IT AND I REALY WAS ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY. YOU KNOW WHEN YOU BUY SOMETHING AND HOPE IT IS GOOD BUT IT JUST TURNS OUT KINDA OK.. WELL NOT WITH THIS ONE. THIS WAS ONE OF RARE TIME WHEN I WAS OVERWHELLMED WITH THE QUALITY AND SOUND. THE HUGE BONUS OF THIS ONE IS THE 7 BAND EQ AND EFFECTS THAT CAN BE PUT ON ALL CHANNELS. THIS REALLY IS A WINNER. THIS IS ONE TIME I WAS OVERJOYED WITH HAPPINESS FOR GETTING SOMETHING REALLY MORE WONDERFUL THAN I EXPECTED.

Great Value

By Sweetwater Customer on April 27, 2019

Bought this as a gig amp for my keyboards. Have only had for a few weeks, but so far so good and nothing else with the same power, channel count, functionality and range of register was close in this price range. Free shipping, free support and a 2 year warranty with Sweetwater made it a great value. I decided to go with the 15" woofer model versus the 12" so I could get full depth of the low register and am glad I did. I agree with some of the reviews that the amp is not as loud as it claims to be at 600W, but it's plenty loud. I have my first gig with it next week and think it will suit all my needs: light enough to carry from car to stage without wheels or a dolly, easy XLR out to the house system, a smaller form factor than my larger amp so it's easier to transport, should be loud enough to be my keyboard monitor as I play through a house system with a band. Other things I like about it: the EQ is sensitive (which is great because you can really hone in on the tone you want with small adjustments) and the EQ is lit up so you can easily see it on a dark stage. I like that the amp has side handles as well as a top handle. Also, the amp is pretty sharp looking. Things I don't like: all inputs and outputs are on the back versus the top or front. I recommend an amp stand. If you're looking for one that will fit this amp perfectly, look at the Proline PL7000 Adjustable - lines up perfectly with the openings in the back of this amp. Unless this amp doesn't last long term, I think it was the perfect purchase.

Great and budget friendly

The sound is crystal clear and the FX are awesome. Exceeds Behringer's reputation. I use it as a PA for vocals and acoustic and it captures all Frequencies.

The Missing Link

By Larry from Kentucky on June 23, 2016 Music Background: 38 year veteran

As an electronic drummer, I know certain band mates will complain that the feel is not present without real drums. I have a monitor rig that has an 18", a pair of 8" midrange and a tweeter, with a rack full of amplification, mixer and direct box options. Its 300 lbs of pain and a deal breaker for traveling in a smaller vehicle.
So, I began looking for something smaller but with plenty of punch to be felt on stage. When I found this 4 channel Behringer KXD-15 with a Turbosound 15, a compression driver horn, 600 watts of bi-amped power, DSP and 7-band of EQ for under $500.00, I was curious. I ordered it and have played 4 gigs with it and love it!

LOVE ALL BUT 2 FEATURES - HERE'S WHY

By Leonard Dobrzyn from Peckville, PA on September 12, 2023 Music Background: full time musician - former touring

Hey Folks - I bought this amp, based on the great reviews at SW. The first thing I have to say is that most of the EFFECTS are fair, but MOST are not usable for 2 reasons. First - Usually you're far enough away from your amp on stage, so changing EFFECTS is damn near impossible while playing. (Plus you're always fiddling with the keyboards to make settings between songs, so if you're like me, doing piano/organ along with full orchestration screwing with amp settings is the last of your worries.) So even if the effects are great, you usually set to Reverb and leave it alone. It would have been nice that since it's a keyboard amp, they made it midi capable to change effects through your keyboard. That was really dumb to leave that out. What were you thinking?

The second thing I don't like: The only way to control bass, treble etc. is the Graphic Equalizer. It would have been nice to supply us with a button on each of the 4 channels that allows you to set the EQ individually and lock in the sound for each channel. That way, if you're using say a Hammond Skx in channel 1, and a Juno DS in channel 2, and an Integra-7 in 3, you can adjust for the proper bass/treble PER CHANNEL PER INSTRUMENT. This again was a dumb oversight on their part.

HERE'S WHY IT WAS DUMB: Seriously, when I first fired it up, that GRAPHIC EQ really disappointed me, and I almost SENT IT BACK. I would adjust for Acoustic Piano, and when I played a Rhodes, Wurly, Strings etc. it sounded like CRAP! (I do have to say the EQ is very responsive though with each setting to each kind of instrument! We just don't have time to be fiddling with an amp setting every song, every part of a song as a keyboardist!) But realize this .. the amp is really good. In my honest opinion I seriously doubt that it is 600 watts as the boast. It may be 150 RMS and that's about it! But overall it is pretty good! And sounds good... so follow my suggestions to get past this.

HERE'S MY SUGGESTION: When you first get it, turn it on, put on an acoustic piano patch on your keyboard. Make an adjustment, and then try other instruments.... If you're like me, you'll get a bit bewildered, even bummed.

BUT HERE'S WHAT I DID.... AND THIS MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!!! --- SHUT IT OFF! Walk away from it.... and don't come back til the next day... Turn it back on a day later, and fine tune the graphic one more time... Try to find a happy medium between acoustic piano, horns, strings. Trust me in saying this.. you will never find this happy medium the very first day, and that's why I suggest walking away from it for a while. When you come back the 2nd day, hold off on synth sounds and guitar sounds until you find your happy medium....

Once I found the medium point, the other patch sounds really sounded good... Granted, it would sound better if I could have dedicated EQ to each channel individually but I decided after I adjusted this way, I WILL KEEP THE AMP.

I hope this helps people like me that are picky about making horns sound like horn sections, saxes like saxes, piano & EP's like the real thing! I do give my shout out on this amp but subtracted 1 star for the above to mentioned screw ups by Behringer. I have a lot of their stuff and am mostly satisfied with it all. And now also with this amplifier, but took some getting used to.. for sure.

Great gig amp

By Sweetwater Customer from Cleveland OH on February 22, 2020

I bought the Behringer as an upgrade/ replacement for my old Roland 300. Great range, clear tone, even when playing heavy bass lines. No rumble or break up. Linking two amps makes it easy to get stereo effect, although I usually just send a stereo feed to the PA. Much lighter than the Roland, and probably not as durable, but very reliable so far.

I'm skeptical about the the wattage rating though. Doesn't seem that much louder than the amp that replaced it, but it's powerful enough and clean enough to get the job done. I'd buy it again.

Nice and clean

Behringer Ultratone KXD15

By fRIED fRED from California on March 31, 2017 Music Background: Classic Country Floor Show

These are good, reliable, clean sounding and reasonably priced keyboard/PA amps in a small, lightweight and manageable package for small to medium venues without running through a PA. They work excellent for monitors on larger venues. Not sure how they get a rating of 600W as they seem a little under powered for what they claim to be. However, even when they are cranked up they remain clean without high volume distortion, rattling, or cracking. Purchased two to run stereo on my NORD Stage 2 EX. Not to crazy about the effects. I also run my acoustic and electric guitars through them with a pre-amp and effects pedal board for better effects control and sound. I suggest it would be better to keep them simple and run variable controls for reverb and forget the rest of the preset effects. Also suggest they'll carry and sound much better if you put them on stands especially in a noisy hall. Very happy with them especially for the size, weight and price.

Good but not great

By Paul Galloway from Mogadore, OH on March 30, 2023 Music Background: Working musician

After reading the reviews I picked this up to upgrade from a Fender Rumble 100 V1 15 that I had been using to amplify my Alesis keyboard workstation. Unfortunately it failed to live up to expectations. Good sound quality but I did not see the increase in volume level I was hoping for. Sound quality and volume were actually pretty comparable to the Fender Rumble 100. The Fender has castors so I will likely continue to use it as the keyboard amp until a clear upgrade presents itself. It can keep up with a drummer at lower levels but if you are looking for a keyboard amp that will keep up with a rock band or high volume tube amps you should keep looking.

On the bright side, instead of sending it back, I was able to find a use for the Behringer Ultratone as an acoustic guitar amplifier and PA system for acoustic solo project. I haven't been able to use it in that application yet but have no doubt it will shine in that environment. Perhaps it should be marketed as an acoustic guitar/pa.

WHEELS

By TOM HENNIGAN from PALM BAY FL. on September 19, 2016

JUST ONE THING IT NEEDS TO HAVE WHEELS...

Pretty Decent

By Noah Spradlin from hamilton, OH on April 17, 2018

Pretty decent amp, the reverb effects sound nice and it's quite light and manageable physically. Seems to muddy up if I get loud enough to keep up with a full band playing though.

Served its purpose for a while

By James Leach from Cincinnati, OH on August 3, 2023 Music Background: Gigging musician

Served its purpose to a degree for about three years. Used as a keyboard amplifier. Then failed. No power. Intermittently worked for another couple weeks then finally failed. Out of warranty, of course.

Cheap knobs came off, broke during very easy use.

Underpowered for my use. Could be an OK rehearsal amp, or with a primarily acoustic band.

I mean …….you get what you pay for. It's all in the name. Just understand that.

I'm sure others that have the same amp have been luckier. It's kind of a crapshoot with this brand as we all know.

Ok while it lasts

By Rich from Cortez, CO on December 3, 2018

I bought the KXD12 and it lasted just over 3 years until a capacitor related to the power supply fizzled-out . Then I bought the KXD15 and it lasted just about 3 years until a capacitor related to the power supply fizzled-out (while I was playing).

It wasn't my power. They failed in different places, so it wasn't the power on-premises (every other device just fine). Both failed in a at-home practice situation.

Behringer brand is dead to me from this point forward.

KXD 15

By Gary from Ovid Idaho on September 22, 2016

I purchased this unit about 6 months ago. it is a fair speaker but the 600 W rating does not even compare to my 300 W mackie set up . I set them side by side and played my guitar and keys though both of them and my 14 year old mackie 300 w speakers knocked the socks off the KXD 15 both at one half level. be aware if you puchase this for Gigs, it just doesn't put out that great of sound but it is great for a practice amp.

First it died.. then it cried

By Sweetwater Customer on October 3, 2023

Buyer Be Ware. If you appreciate the QUALITY of sound from your gear then skip this one. My first one died after three months. No explanation. I sent it back and the kind folks at Sweeterwater immediately offered a replacement. I asked for a "store credit", but was denied from the service department. The second unit is still alive, but the sound quality is lacking to say the least. Almost like listening behind a closed door.. No punch whatsoever from a 15" speaker! Needless to say I have been using my headphones a lot with this guy. I am thinking Craigslist "Curb Alert".

Behringer Terribletone KXD15

By DOug from Kitchener, Ontario Canada on January 26, 2022 Music Background: Bmus in Piano, Genesis trib keyboard player.

It sounds like an AM radio through a loud speaker. Any warmth in any piano or synth sounds is gone. The organ cuts through on this but it's cold and even ruins the sound when you run the xlr to the FOH. My (very) old Marshall Audiostate LR150 puts this terrible thing to shame. Marshall doesn't make them anymore.
