It's ORANGE!!!!

By Alex B. Hatt from Edmonds, WA on February 10, 2023

Did I mention IT'S ORANGE!!! Always love the color orange on just about everything and this guitar is no exception. Had a few questions as to the finish before I placed my order as the finish looked odd in one of the pictures. I emailed my sales engineer (Chris Goldbach) and he was very quick to respond and even went out and took extra pictures of the guitar for me. Always much appreciated with the extra effort that Chris puts in even though I don't spend as much as some folks at Sweetwater. Always very impressed with the service I receive.

Look no further…

First off, kudos to Gibson guitars for bringing back the Kramers! I used to have a couple Kramers back in 1985. This takes me back to those days! I was skeptical at first, did a lot of research, and took a shot on getting another one. Glad I did, totally awesome guitar! Quality is great too! Great tone, great action and playability, Floyd works great too! I used to have a couple Jackson USA soloists, before I fell on hard times. This guitar is pretty darn close to the same thing at a fraction of the cost of a new USA soloist. As with any new guitar, spend the extra cash and get it professionally set up when you get it. Want a solid-built, in your face battle axe, that doesn't cost as much, BUT will run with the big dogs? Look no further, the Kramer SM-1 does not disappoint! Special thanks to Brandon @ Sweetwater with the help. Happy customer here!

34 years and finally

Sweetwater set this guitar up perfect straight out of the box. The sound, the feel, the quality, awesome. Paint job looks great. This is the guitar I wish I could have found in 1988. Then I was gifted a BC Rich Warlock. Since then I've owned Ibanez USA custom 540SLTD,Dean ML,ESP LTD EC1000. I loved everyone of those guitars, even though had issues keeping the Dean in tune. But the Kramer SM1 has ignited the WOW spirit the same way the that Ibanez custom did for me way back when. This looks, feels, and sounds like a guitar that will be a friend for a long time to come. Their are alot of great guitars out their no doubt. Kramer SM1 is one of those. Clean or chunking it out, I love it!

Phenomenal machine

By Jackal Jay from Chicago on December 31, 2021 Music Background: NWOTHM

Was looking for an ebony fretboard with higher level of construction and wood quality. This guitar delivers. Silky smooth feel with great sustain. The coil split on the bridge is a perfect feature, combines well with the rail in the second position. This guitar was the dream I was looking for.

HairMetal Shred Machine

If you have a hankering for hairspray and screaming dive bombs this monster delivers the goods. The finish is show car quality and the neck trough construction sustains for days. It's Seymour Duncan's aren't brand stamped but they're definitely the real deal. The Floyd Rose is of normal quality although it needed to be used liberally for awhile before it was silky smooth and the locking nut mounting screws need to be retightened when you change strings to keep things quiet and creak free. All pretty normal maintenance for an axe of battle. Thrash it and dive bomb all you want and it comes right back to pitch.

Not the dream guitar I thought it would be

By Ricardo Valencia from El Paso, TX on May 18, 2023

The sound is not great. If you like the shape and the amount of frets its an OK guitar, but it's like there are no switches, the pick ups sound does not really vary from one pick up to the next. Get a different model or another brand.
