High Quality Stand
Very sturdy and well built mic stand. I spent time looking for the right stand. Mainly needed one for playing an acoustic guitar in a chair. The KM252 was the best choice for just the right height adjustments needed.
K&M 252 medium booms
I have used K&M short and tall booms for a couple years and they are fantastic, they are very heavy duty, and they stay where you put them. But I couldn't find medium booms until recently. These are perfect. The upright telescopes twice so it can be a medium or tall boom. The only problem I have with K&M is that they are heavy compared to the typical cheap stands out there. I'd rather have that problem though than replace stands all the time.
Best quality, by far
K&M make the best mic stands in this price range and this model is exceptionally versatile and well made. The height adjustment on this stand can be adjusted from medium low to high and everything in between. The parts are all top notch and tighten better than anything else I have used, even holds heavy mics well.
Also for live performance as a sax player, you have the ability to mic your sax with less of the stand getting between you and your audience. The low profile allows to position the mic at the best level while keeping the vertical part of the stand low and unobtrusive.
The Highest Quality
These K&M stands are worth the extra $$. Everything about them speaks quality. I can see why they are used by professionals everywhere.
The quality of the Sweetwater service is valuable. You actually have someone who cares about your needs. Forget about Amazon, I'm a Sweetwater fan!
Best mic boom stands on the market; worth the extra money even over cheaper K&M stands
I bought one of these a few months ago while working on the east coast with most of my belongings still on the east coast, not wanting to exactly duplicate anything I already owned and so taking advantage of the situation to do some trial runs on some studio "upgrades".
Pictures will never show you what a huge upgrade this mic stand is over the more common semi-high-end 21090 model, which I've used for eons now. This stand is sturdier, easier to adjust, stronger material and pieces overall. It doesn't "look" all that different, but it is.
I'm ordering another one tonight, now that I'm back on the east coast, as I have some critical sessions coming up where I can't afford even the slightest risk of mic positions "walking" during the playing or recording. I have higher confidence with these stands than any I've ever owned.
K&M 252 Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom - Black
K&M 252 Microphone stand. These stands are great stands. Great stability. If your in a band room setting you can go with a cheaper series of K&M stands and the will get the job done. But if you want something a lot nicer for home studio I'd recommend paying the few extra bucks for the nicer series. They have nicer hardware on them. Easier to work with hardware. More stability for placing your high dollar microphones for recording. I would also recommend there low profile microphone stands. I own one and there great for cabinets with low speakers you want to mic. They also will boom out to handle half stack style cabs. Great stand. I'd highly recommend these stands. Reps at Sweetwater will help you choose the stand for your application. Just give them a call. Great service/ tech team.
Great Stand, Great Price
Perfect stand for my versitile needs. Folds up to a small size and fits well in my gear box.
Great Boom!
K&M equipment is the finest available and the 252 Microphone stand with telescopic boom arm is a great example that great design and great construction does not cost a great fortune. When I first received the parcel for the stand I was amazed at how compact the package was. At first I thought 'Oh there must be another box' but to my amazement when I opened the box and emptied the contents and put the stand together I was so pleased with how it came together. For years and years seeing many musicians ( I am starting out) deal onstage with flimsy designs and poorly constructed (and cheap) stands; I do have empathy for the one(s) that deal with fussing on stage while the audience watches them/him/her struggle just to adjust a simple microphone stand... sound familiar? Too bad and what a waste of time and good, hard earned money.
As the saying goes you get what you pay for... but K&M and Sweetwater give you a lot more than just what you pay for. The proof is in this Microphone Stand; Great for the guy/girl who packs compact and light but will not settle for second best or less than your standards of excellence! Start right and get a great Microphone stand and you will be happy doing that that makes you and others happy.
K&M 252 works great
The K&M 252 Mic Stand is solidly built, with a steady base, and it has many adjustment options. It will adjust to your height whether you are short, tall or in between. And the telescoping boom is a great feature. Rock steady and very versatile.
K&M 252 Mic stand
This stand is top quality(macht' aus Deutschland) and because of its multiple telescoping features, it contains just about all of the versatility one would need for stage or recording purposes. No matter if you're short or tall, you're covered!
