K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand
K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand Reviews
Professional-quality, heavy-duty stand/boom combination consisting of the K&M 201A/2 tripod floor stand and K&M 211/1 telescopic boom. Rock-solid t-bar locking screw that won't drift once it's set, and a high-quality clutch which holds the stand's height for your whole gig! Matte black finish.
Excellent
An excellent stand. Sturdy, tough and reliable. I only wish the knobs were more like a wing-nut style. I knob they make them small knobs to prevent over-tightening but I find I want them just a tiny bit tighter than they get. Especially when working with very heavy microphones or other gear. I add counterweights (from K&M) to any stands that will be carrying heavy loads or that will be extended to long lengths. I also like the K&M offers so many different configurations of mic stands to accommodate virtually any needs.
Great Boom Mike Stand
This stand is thoroughly thought-out, well built, sturdy, and easy to adjust and use. Worth every penny. What more could one want?
Terrible
I e only had problems with this mic stand. It stripped itself and won't hold anything up. I bought this a while ago and just started using it and it's completely broken. I'm very upset
THE Standard
K&M tripods are the industry standard for a lot of reasons. Ease of use, build quality and affordability of parts keeps me coming back to K&M year after year.
Very nice
I'll be able to use this. I like it lightness but wasn't able to support a music holder I was hoping it would.
Great Stand!
These stands barely last a year before they cross thread and lose all tension. Bite the bullet and buy a higher end stand, you'll be thankful on year 2 when it still works
Excellent!
Quality equipment from top to bottom. Sturdy, and well balanced. Locks into place and stays!
THE mic stand!
K & M microphone stands are simply the best.
Never Stays In Place
I'm pretty shocked at how well received these mic stands are. I bought two of them and no matter how much I clamp down on every clutch of this stand, it CONSTANTLY is slipping and causing mics to lose their position. I have stands that are a fraction of the cost that perform so much better than these, it's pretty disappointing. It's unfortunate because I love how the stand looks and it feels like it's made from quality materials, but they have proven to be a nightmare in every application I've used them for. Would not buy again.
As solid as a mic stand gets.
As with anything K&M makes the mic stands are no different. Solid, reliable and easily repairable if you happen to find a way to damage something on it.
made in germany
I have learned the hard way. this is the only way I go now. dont confuse with the other acronym co.
Hoping this one holds together
I've had so many mic stands that "lost their grip" after a year or two. I thought Ultimate Support would make a great stand since I'd had good luck with some of their other hardware. No luck. Threads gave out on the base and the arm.
This time, I'm trying the K&M. The build appears to be solid and the various bolts and clamps used for adjustments seem stable. Due to the nature of live performing and then hauling the equipment, these will have to go up and come down repeatedly. We'll see.
So far, so great!
Great Stand
Cant go wrong with this stand. Very well constructed, solid, and it can support additional mounts.
Solid stand!
This is a great mic stand and worth the money! Great quality compared to the cheaper options out there. Built to last!
I bought a cheap() stand a couple years ago and it didn't hold up…fasteners stripped and the base was way too light which made it wobbly.
Loving it
This is a solid stand.
Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand
Great Microphone Stand. It's nice and sturdy!
Hold up the SE Space & AKG Condenser Mic!
This mic stand is legit. the SE Space in combination with my AKG-420 condenser mic aren't exactly light, and this mic stand holds them both up. NOTE: I did remove teh boom section as it's not needed for this format. FYI. But the twist clamp holds both these items up without slipping (or tipping over). Additionally, if there was ever an issue, the mfg sells replacement parts instead of junking the whole stand like many others out there. Great purchase! :)
Boom mic stands
If you're tired of mic stands that are so flimsy and want a more substantial one, these are the ones.
So much better than cheap stands
I bought a couple of inexpensive stands for my SM58s when I started building my home studio. They work but end up getting loose, sagging and the tripod on one of them requires I break out my Allen wrench to tighten the base for time to time or it ends up folding and start to become unstable. When I ordered a couple of Lewitt 440 pures I wanted to ensure I had stable and versatile mic stands. The K&Ms don't disappoint. Large enough to use as overhead drum mic stands and get low enough to use to mic other instruments and use as vocal studio stands. These things are bomber, from the base to all of the adjustment hardware. I know my mics are safe. 5x the cost of the cheap stands but infinitely better.
Wow! Worth every penny!
I'm a solo composer that was always trying to keep my price point at or below WAL (wife approval level). That meant the cheap end on that one big site everyone goes to. Those mic stands are truly 4 and 5 star mic stands for their audience.
This mic stand is not that mic stand. This mic stand and that other thing don't even exist in the same universe.
Seriously. I have decided I may need to make an executive decision and go above WAL and beg forgiveness later.
Great mic stand
Great break down and rigid while working.
Awesome stand, awesome service
People here rock!
The industry standard mic stand
K&M make the only mic stands I have anything good to say about. As a 10 year live sound tech I only ever recommend K&M stuff to venue owners. I've seen these stands last over 5 years and have only had a couple wear out. They are not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for with these. No notes.
Great product
My Sweetwater advisor Justin Dunn recommended this stand a few months back. This stand is hands down the best "skinny and lightweight" stand I have ever used. Once tightened the nuts stay in place. It is noticeably heavier than other lightweight stands that look similar. Never had an issue where a mic even thought about falling over because of the weight and being extended all the way out. Love this mic stand and will be buying a couple more soon.
Great Mic Stand
I needed an extra mic stand for my home studio, and figured I'd spend a little more than I had in the past - as I was never happy with the more budget friendly ones I've purchased previously, and I only needed one. Man, what a difference! So much better! Sturdier, more stable, and will clearly be more durable - but the best part for me, in my small studio, is the shorter boom arms. I immediately bought three more, replacing my cheap ones. Highly recommend these. They're worth the extra money, without question.
I didn't think that they made them like this anymore!
Well made, stable, easily to transport. The finish is a nice matte black, and all is good. I know that the tripod base is how it comes, but I like the old "Atlas Sound" iron bases. Stability is good, but they never took up stage floor space or were a possible trip hazard for the players/songers.
Good solid well made mic stand
Throw out your old crappy stands. This is solid!! Well designed too.

The best mid-line, for sure
Always work, never droop, sturdy and reliable.
Quailty Mic Stand
K&M stands are amazing and this one is no exception! I appreciate my sales engineer Ken Nace for his help - he's awesome!
K&M Mic Stands are the best!
Portable, reliable and high-performing.
I wish that this boom stand had more articulation to it, but it's 100% reliable and I've used it with the Earthworks Icon mic for many years. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.
Quality
I've never been disappointed in a K&M product and this mini boom and stand is no exception. I'm completely satisfied. Thank you Nate for the recommendation!
Sturdy and Easy to Set Up
This K&M mic stand is solid and well-made, with a sturdy tripod base and boom that's easy to adjust. It's quick to set up and collapse so it's great for travel too. Highly recommended.
Solid Mic Stand
This is a solid feeling mic stand and the ability to buy replacement parts is appealing. We are a bit hard on our gear, and replacing mic stands every year is annoying. A bit pricey, but now that I've used it at a couple of gigs, I think I'm getting my monies worth. I can hang a cupholder with a beverage on one side, a mandolin on the other, and a tablet holder off of the boom and never worried about it tipping over.
Great Product
Don't waste your money buying cheap mic stands this stand is awesome! I have three and love them!
A sturdy, wonderful mic stand
I recently bought a K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Mic Stand and am very happy with it. It's very, very well built and solid—exactly what I need during recording and also as protection of my mic.
German Excellence
This stand is a fine example of excellence in manufacturing. Worth every cent and then some.
None better
The K&M stands are the best i have used.
Built sturdy, mechanisms work great, tightens up easy and stays tight, great finish and looks good too.
Pro use on stage or in my studio they never let me down.
As a pro i say dont mess around with cheap stands.
The extra cost is worth it.
Excellent mic stand
Great Stands
Tired of the cheap stands. I finally asked my rep James to recommend a good gigging stand. I bought 2. These are solid and not super heavy. If you gig regularly, these are a great option. They cost more but are definitely worth it. I recommend you get a nice bag for the stand si they don't get scratched up.
Great Stand
This mic stand is built with heavy grade metal ready to take the beating of the road jigs.
Thanks Greg, for recommending another great product!!
Bulletproof
Very happy with these well-constructed mic stands.
Historically, stands from other manufacturers fail at the threaded components. We hope these will be stand up better.
The best microphone deserves the best stand
The Title says it all.
Will Last
I own a K&M that I had for some time. I gave it to a relative in the mobile DJ business. It shows its age, but still works like new. Today mic stands are more than just holding a mic. They are a workhorse in a mobile studio. When attaching audio interface, cameras, tablets, and other devices, it is worth investing in a good stand. Simply put, K&M will last.
It does its job well
I bought this after seeing many great video reviews on it. It is definitely the industry standard when it comes to Microphone stands with its build quality and ease of use.
K&M OVERPRICED SUBSTANDARD
I bought a K&M mic stand about 10 years ago. Within one month the clutch wouldn't hold the boom. I took it apart and used vice grips to squeeze the outer clutch wings closer together. It worked for maybe 15-20 shows and I had to do it again. I finally Bastardized it with another boom and it's fine now. Just a shame to pay that much for low quality.
The real deal
Most heavy duty mic stand I've owned (that isn't a hardcore studio grade drum overhead crane). Worth every penny to feel confident with higher end mics in the studio. Definitely has some weight to it which contributes to the sturdiness so I wouldn't want to lug it on stage, but I love having a couple of these at my home studio for condensers, tube mics, and anything else that's basically heavier than a 57/58.
Musician
These are the best mic stands ever!!!!!
I have an older one that's over 15 years old with no issues what so ever.
And the carry bag is well made.
Great boom stands for drum overhead mics
These are great boom stands for drum overhead mics. Highly recommended! Thank you Josh and Sweetwater for the excellent gear and service!
Microphone boom Stand
Item arrived and was as advertised
Dependable gear
I manage A/V at a non profit venue. We host weddings, quincineras, concerts, musical stage productions, seminars, etc. A lot of folks borrow our equipment while they are with us. Some are very gentle with it and some are not. So I need things that will hold up. K&M mic stands seem to last a lot longer than others that I've purchased over the years. I pay a little more but it's more than worth it.
Excellent quality stand
The only thing that I foresee as a weak spot is the plastic thumb-knobs used for tightening the telescope points and the one at the base that secures the tripod.
Otherwise, a very heavy duty piece of gear that will likely outlast me.
K & M Mic Stand/Boom
Look, it's ok but I wouldn't gig with it personally...it's rather weak and doesn't have the heft of the boom stands we used to use in the 70's and 80's etc...it's ok in my rehearsal studio but I don't think it would hold up to a lot of gigging..simply because it has too much tubular thin steel and the round clamps are cheap and iffy..as I said it's ok and if you treated it with kid gloves I suppose it would be ok but long term don't expect it to handle the rigors of gigging..
Mic boom stand
Great product! Very sturdy. Love the telescope that is has the shorter bar....doesn't stick out in the way.
Well Worth the money!
I am a working musician with 150+ shows last year (2022) and 2 broken mic stands.. I was a bit hesitant at 1st to purchase this due in part to the cost. But, why go cheap on an important part! I should have purchased this last year the 1st time my stand failed. All I can say, is if someone were to steal this, or I would lose it, I would not hesitate to buy another. From the moment I took it out of the box, I could feel the difference. Some of you might know how the boom would sag a bit when you put your mic in, well not on this stand. I have done 10+ shows since I purchased this, and I can honestly say, Once I set the boom where I want it. I never have to change it until I break down for the night. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Wonderful Customer Service as usual
Mic stand works great, great quality. The real stars are the team at Sweetwater and their exemplary customer service. Initially received the wrong stand (fixed boom instead of telescoping) no big deal, but I emailed my sales engineer, Tyler Moore, and a couple quick questions later he had the correct product on the way to me. The best part is Sweetwater did not make me send back the original incorrect mic stand as a way of making up for the mistake. Can't think of another company that does business like this but it is completely refreshing to see a company that actually values customers time and money. I will be a loyal Sweetwater customer for life because of the quality and care they put into everything they do.
Quality Stands
I got a pair of these to replace two older stands. I hate using those older ones because the round bases leave them very tippy, the clutches are weak and very hard to adjust, one has a boom that is way too long and doesn't telescope, etc. These are much better. The clutch is tight. The tripod base means I can extend it out at an angle and not have to worry that it is going to come crashing down. They just seem to be better made overall than any other stand I've owned. Spend a little more on these and don't waste your money going through cheap stands!
Mic stand
This is a very high quality microphone stand
K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand
Recommended by Cliff Hackleman of Sweetwater. The K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand is very sturdy. Love the setup! I house the
Rode NT1-A Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone on the K&M, also, recommended by Cliff and sits really well. Vert sturdy when making adjustments for recording purposes. I recommend the K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand.
Awesome mic stand
This thing is Nice , it is sturdy and can adjust to many different positions. I love it
Works Great, Nice Built-In Cable Management Features
I am using it with the Shure SM57 and it works great. Nice clips and straps for XLR cables to make sure everything stays neat and tidy.
No Droop - No Drag
Not often do I think a 5-star rating is earned but this mic stand does its job; supports heavy mics without sagging! Well worth the extra bucks for a high quality engineered and manufactured mic stand. It is solid! If you are tired of mic stands sagging while tracking, give this one a try, glad I did.
Solid
Good, solid stand.
Perfect Mic Stand
This is a lightweight, very stable mic stand that fits nicely into small home studio spaces. The parts are precisely machined, and rugged. The telescopic boom arm does not sag, and comfortably holds any of my lightweight or heavy mics. I like it so much, I bought a second one for the studio. Customer service Sweetwater is superb.
K&M 210/9
Sleek and smooth, adjusts to anywhere. I don't have a lot of experience with boomsi, but I cannot imagine a better one. Sets up or breaks down easy but feels stable. I love it. Trying to keep the other band members from trying to take it is the only problem.
Nice!
I got this stand in a package deal. I didn't think much of it. I set it up after it got here and realized how nice it was. This thing is STURDY.
This is not a good stand
This stand came in a pack with the slate ml 1 I got and I like the mic but this stand is very easily tipped over. There is no locking mechanism for the legs. You're much better off getting one else where.
Solid Mic Stand
I've owned many mic stands over the years and finally decided to upgrade; good choice. You can tell that this stand is a cut above your standard mic stand. Just feels well built.
K&M is Quality
I have never been disappointed with the quality of K&M products. You get what you pay for. I've never regretted the decision to purchase anything from K&M.
Good microphone stand
It was as expected, as I was looking for a strong and high quality microphone stand at a fair price.
Great stand
The best stand I own. Not the ceapest but clearly the best!
K&M mic stand
Exactly what's I'd hoped for. Rugged and sturdy! Love it.
Solid mic stand
After years of trying different stands for different applications. When looking for a light weight, easy to transport, solid tightening ability and stable, this stand is the best. Worth the extra cost.
Best mic stand I've owned
Nice, heavy duty metal parts. It's sturdy and takes up the same space as my old mic stand so it fits in my trunk with no issues.
Rock solid
This mic stand is well built, rock solid, but hey you can attach a mic and sing any kind of music through it, not just rock :) This mic stand will last s few lifetimes, and no worry about vibrations or unsteadiness. Much better than I was expecting.
Solid performance for it weight
Tripod mic stands work well for transport and storage. Sizing of legs provides very good stability if floor space is available. I like the trade off with this particular stand and it meets my storage needs. K&M stands have been my goto for years for quality build, design and durability.
K & M ! Why waste any time!
Try It, You’ll Like It
After using this stand for a while, I appreciate it even more. And it breaks down well for travel. Easy to adjust mic positions and stays put once adjusted. All-in-all, just a great mic stand.
Excellent mic stand
Very steady and easily adjustable
Outstanding Stand
Would get a full 5 stars had a clip been included. My bad for not noticing and their bad for not recommending as a common accessory item. I just ordered one and it's coming freight free. Can't beat that!! Sweetwater has really been a great place for all my guitar related purchases.
K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand
Sturdy, strong, and adjusts to just the right height.
K & M Stands Tall and Strong
Having purchased a couple of these K & M mic stands, I can say that they are great. They are sturdily built and well weighted; the functional fittings stay securely set and the base weight helps to keep the mic in the air. They are much better than basic and definitely worth the extra cost, especially if you need a couple of dependable sturdy stands for performance.
Perfect
Very sturdy, very durable, does whatever you want it to do. Simply the best.
Now we’re taking
I've had many a mic stand. This one makes me feel like I'm serious. Which I am.
Last Mic Stand You Will Ever Need
I've been using mic stands for many, many decades and this is the most solid, top-notch stand I have ever used when it comes to Boom mic stands. I qualified that because a simple straight up mic stand can be pretty solid. But boom's really benefit from something extra in weight and sturdiness, primarily because they extend out from their base, and never has one done so well. This thing says "I'm in charge here!".
Nice Heavy Duty Stand
Was surprised to see how heavy duty this was. Very Pleased.
Mic stand
Heavy duty mic stand. Works great.
Never buy anything less than a K&M Stand
Honestly there are some products where you can buy a cheaper version and it'll be alright. But with mic stands, the only ones I ever see lasting literally decades are K&M. Worth every penny.
Well made, solid mic stand
this is a really well built mic stand. I did live sound engineering for over 3,000 shows and I can tell you about how many mic stands couldn't take the beating of many shows, some with the stands getting thrown around by some bands. This is a stand that could easily take the life of the road easily and last a long time. Another huge plus is that this has the extra weight and stability to avoid accidental knockover's that are a part of the stage territory of things that are bound to happen. Think of it as additional microphone casualty insurance. I saw a lot of good microphones broke from an unstable and/or lightweight mic stand that tipped over. Take it from a live sound man, this is worth it.
No boom sag
I'd become quite frustrated when a couple of "heave duty" boom stands would sag when they had to be fully extended at the clutch. I took a chance on this and no sag. I'm using it mainly for Beta 58's, so I've not tested it with a condenser. I wish I had 4/5 more of these.
cant go wrong with K&M
solid, sturdy and worth the extra costs. im done with cheaper, sagging stands from other companies!
Solid Mic Stand
I imagine I will be needing a microphone stand for many years. I wanted to get one that was solid and dependable, and if that meant paying a little extra, I was okay with that. The stand itself is noticeably hefty, certainly compared to my previous tripod stand. It feels solid and does not sway easily, and the boom and all the knobs turn well and keep things where you want them when tightened. A mic stand is not the flashiest piece of gear, but all things considered, a piece of gear that gets used a lot. This is a good piece of a gear, and is worth the extra money compared to cheaper stands. I have only owned it for a brief time, but I imagine it will last for many years.
God’s Mic Stand
The only mic stand company I love. I've tried all of the popular stands and I return them. K&M will hold very heavy mics and not move. K&M is the best!
K&M 210
A good, stable, sturdy stand. Works great.
It Is The Best
For a few extra dollars this is precision stand!
Praise The Lord Jesus Christ!
I kept having a problem with the cheap mic stand I had bought from guitar center, the arm kept going down while I was trying to sing and play piano. This mic is so sturdy!! I love it! And it works great for what I'm doing. Thank the Lord! And thanks Ben Stokes for pointing me in the right direction
Solid Mic Stand
This is a solid mic stand for recording or live music. It is very heavy, however it would need a counter weight for use with larger mics. I have a couple of tube mics I would never use this with but still it is a nice mic stand and I think worth the money (especially if it's on sale).
Heavy duty mic stand
This is a solid mic stand. I'm a drummer and put a gooseneck on the end of it to extend it and stay out of my way. The stand doesn't tip even with the extension. Good stand for the money.
Absolutely Amazing Boom Stand
First - YES - it's a bit pricey compared to other boom stands, but the durability and sturdy construction make this well worth the extra expense. Not only are they amazing for normal vocal use, they are also fantastic for supporting and positioning heavier mics or a multi-mic array for various uses. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a stand that will do it all and last forever.
Solid as a rock!
I've been a professional musician for 30 years and I'd recommend this stand to anyone looking for a sturdy, high quality mic stand.
amazing
worth the money dont wait just buy.
K&M 210/9 Mic Stand
My sales person, Ryan Clapper suggested this stand a few weeks ago to replace my 1970's stand with a round base and duck tapped boom. While playing my Martin D35, said stand slipped down and nicked my baby. Needless to say I wasn't happy. The next day I called to order new K&M stand. Immediately right out of the box you can feel the weight and quality of this product. Stand remains stable when boom is fully extended. Well worth the money.
Solid mic stand
very sturdy, and strong. i have a reflection filter and mic on it and it feels safe and secure. very easy to assemble as well.
Heavy
I usually like those round bases for stands but these guys impressed me with the stand I bought for my Double Bass.
This is a stand I think I can trust with my best mics around the studio.
Love Sweetwater
I can't give much information about the product as it was a Christmas gift to someone else, however as always I am more than pleased dealing with Sweetwater. I have been dealing with them for years as there are many musicians in my family. They are wonderful from the individual attention you get from your own representative to the lovely little candy slipped into each package. I can't think of any other place where you get this kind of attention.
Great purchase
Every interaction we have had with Sweetwater staff has been excellent. Their equipment, service and knowledge has been a great help to our church's sound ministry. Thanks!
Great Microphone Stand - K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand
As usual, my Sweetwater arrived ahead of schedule.
The K&M 210/9 Telescoping Boom Microphone Stand
is everything I needed. Easy set up and solid build/construction.
5-Stars
K&M 210/9 Mic Stand Outstanding
If you've purchased cheap mic stands in the past, you've probably regretted it at some point. Stands get a lot of abuse, whether getting knocked over a lot or by ham-fisted adjusting by the user. If you plan on doing a lot of home recording or rehearsing, get these and you'll thank yourself down the line. Solid as a rock. They were on sale when I purchased, so worth every penny.
Great mic stand!
I purchased this stand with a gator case and an attachment that allow me to affix my digital recorder to the stand. It works very well. The adjustability provides the flexibility necessary for a variety of different environments. Thanks for the advice, Sweetwater! Geoff in Idaho
K&M mic stands
Great quality, timely shipping, good price, excellent customer service from Brian. Thanks!
Excellent Choice
Matt at sweetwater always steers me in the right direction
Solid stand
Works as advertised. Solid boom stand!
Sturdy
This stand is very nice and sturdy even with a reflection filter on it. It was a great choice for me.i recommend the mic stand.
Top Quality
Great weight keeps this stand solid. Very well built, should last for decades.
Quality Gear
Built to withstand the demands of gigging. After you have thrown the cheap crap across the parking lot because it failed on stage, you'll pony up for the good stuff, and you'll be glad you did.
Piano player is happy
If our piano player isn't happy, nobody is, this mic stand did the job!
Mic stand
Came in sooner than expected & was fast and easy to set up for my first recording experience.
Superior Mic Stand
Sometimes the budget requires that you get the least expensive option available, and of course that's fine and good. But years of enduring economy-grade tripod mic stands has produced a profound appreciation for K&M products. This stand is a pleasure to use with its sturdy construction, reliable clutch and adjustment controls, and threads that hold true through repeated clip swapping. It's hefty too, with enough mass to secure heavier microphones to fullest extension. I still have a number of econostands in the arsenal, but this most recent K&M purchase from Sweetwater is the second in a movement to slowly replace the cheapos with a really excellent product.
K&M
Anything made with the K&M stamp on it have always been a little more expensive, but the extra investment is well worth it!!!
Favorite Mic Stand
I now own several of these. I have used other cheaper brands in the past but nothing holds up like these. I have a few of these sitting at a venue that is a stone's throw away from the ocean and there are little to no signs of rust after 1 year. The only piece of advice I can offer is to use blue threadlocker when mating the boom arm to the stand. Had a renter once crossed the threads after they accidentally screwed the boom off.
Heavy Duty for sure!
I have been looking for a mic stand that will hold up to the rigors of the road, I think I have finally found it. This mic stand is heavy duty and I believe this is the Humvee of them all. I am tired of buying JUNK mic stands that do not hold up for even a few weeks. Its ridiculous how cheaply some of the mic stands are made and the money they are asking for them to turn out to be trash. Not this one, This on is sturdy, heavy, and built tough. Go ahead and spend the money for it. You get what you pay for! Go Cheap, Get Cheap!
Get what you pay for!
Construction is solid, locking sleeves are well made, the telescoping boom is just the right length for a keyboard player, retracting legs are longer, and the weight in base and legs prevent tipping since I extend the full extension on the boom. And its great because I don't need to lug around my 5lb base weight ( was needed for competitors boom stands). Why did I wait so long ang burn through so many of the less expensive mic stands?
K&M mic boom stand 210/9
Sweetwater recommended the heavy duty K&M mic boom stand, 210/9 when I was looking for a stage stand that would actually hold the mic up. The boom is still extended with a mic in it, sitting in my room. You don't have to krank down on the clutch to tighten it. Well made stand. Lots of help and follow up by Sweetwater, my new "go to" music store.
No need to look any further. You get what you pay for
No need to look any further. You get what you pay for.
These are solid mic stands. Been using them for years.

K&M 210/9 Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom
Great product! I have used them as long as they've been around.
Outstanding quality!
I've tinkered around with cheap mic stands forever and finally decided to go with a quality stand. The K&M didn't disappoint! It is made with all quality parts and works great. I highly recommend it!
Very impressed
Not that I"m an expert. But I"ve had to purchase a lot of mic/boom stands. I wish I would have known about these guys. I give it a 4.5 sturdy solid metal
THIS is the stand you want!
I've had any number of boom stands over the years and have quite a pile of broken ones. I needed to get a set of stands for a new group I was working with so I went to a professional tech forum (controlbooth) where people from every corner of the entertainment industry hang out and posed the question. Hands down the choice was K&M. Not only are the 210/9 stands a solid build and have a very long warranty, replacement parts are very easy to find! I love the cast hub base (as compared to plastic.) When I set these up side by side with the run-of-the-mill cheap stands, the differences are easy to spot. Yea, the knock-offs may look the same from 10 feet away, but if you want something that is actually going to hold up, resist the urge to buy the cheap stands and invest in some 210/9 's
Great upgrade
Huge upgrade from the cheap On Stage Stands we had worn out. Heavy, Sturdy base and legs. Telescoping Boom. Stays put! Gonna get years of use from these stands I have no doubt
K&M stands are awesome
I wouls highly recommend these stands to anyone who does not want to keep replacing stands. Period.
My stand of choice
Great, robust construction, versatile adjustments, sturdy, heavy bottom. My preferred mic stand live and in the studio. Worth the extra money, especially for an instumentalist who also sings or a substantial condenser mic. I keep coming back.
Top Line Stand
Exceptional mic stand. The balance and weight distribution of the stand is perfect. No leaning, no tilting. At full extensions with least counter-weight, the stand has full, sturdy support. The dual boom extension makes for nice versatility. Bottom legs are very stable. Good material and nice, sleek appearance as well. Recommended.
Awesome best stand I have now
WOW this is a great heavy stand. well made.... and Not Made In China!! must buy !
Hefty, not wimpy
When you pick up these stands you can feel how substantial they are. They make my other stands feel like a child's play thing. I haven't had any issues with slippage, tipping over, anything. They're as sturdy as a rock. Would highly recommend.
K&M Mic stands
After years of using cheaper mic stands, I decided to try these.
Don't know why I waited so long to use quality stands. These
adjust just where I want them and stay in place. Also they fold
down compactly and stay folded.
Solid!
I know it's more money, but it is solidly built. Also, it is stable, even when I have it fully extended. I've used it 4 or 5 times a week, and it works. Very happy with the purchase!
Best mic stand
I have used most other stands, but this is so much better. Very sturdy. The parts don't just fall off and get lost.
K&M w/tele boom
Best microphone stand I've ever owned. The weight of this stand is fantastic for those heavier mics. Quality build is second to none. The rest of the band members will soon be getting their stands replaced with one of these. Thanks Sweetwater for steering me to this.
Great boom included free with Lauten LA420 mic
Immediately you'll find the K&M boom is heavier than standard. The clutch mechanism definitely a plus as you are constantly adjusting Lauten mic for different applications. A good choice even if purchased separately!
Excellent stands
These stands are solid. No extra movement. well balanced extension arms with out extra boom.
K&M 210/9 Mic Stand
Excellent heavy duty mic stand. Thank you Dan Overstreet your service and assistance keeps me coming back to sweetwater
Great Surdy Stand!
Great Stand! Very bottom-heavy, which is a plus for a boom stand. This sucker doesnt even hint at tipping, even with the boom fully extended loaded with an SM58.
As soon as I pulled it from the box i knew it was a quality stand. It didnt feel flimsy like some other lower priced stands. As soon as you unbox this, you'll know its not just an overpriced "cheapo" stand.
Thanks again Aaron Hoff, for all your help!
Solid and Dependable
Quit wasting time on cheap mic stands that break every few gigs. This one is solid and dependable just like my K&M Spyder Keyboard Stand. K&M products are excellent. You'll spend a little more but for the serious musician, it's definitely worth it.
Perfect
Finally spend the extra few bucks for a good stand, very happy.
The Clutch
As everyone else said. Well built, solid stand.
I love the clutch. It's easy to operate and keeps the boom SOLID. No sinking. So many inexpensive mic stands have a clutch that requires iron man force to keep it tight enough to prevent the boom from sinking with any mic, let alone a heavy large diaphragm condenser. And then it takes iron man force to release the clutch to adjust the boom. This one is easy and smooth in both directions and will hold any mic.
K&M Stand is great
Very nice, and durable. The heavy weight is really nice especially outdoors and for when it gets bumped. The hardware is firm and the mics and boom won't slip down unless you set them that way.
All in all it should last for years. Very pleased with it and with Sweetwater. The folks at Sweetwater are the best!!!! 5.00***
K&M 21090 Boom Mic Stand
Great quality equipment and very sturdy...The only reason I gave it a "4" is because, there is a brand that I use all the time in my little studio all the time, "Atlas" which is the the best and hasn't been beat by any brand...But these stands are very good !!!
Is this the same as my other one???
I recently purchased my second K&M boom as I needed on for when I had gigs in AZ. My K&M that I have in NJ has been going for over 200 gigs...but this new one, (same model) seems different and perhaps it has a few upgrades but it doesn't seem as sturdy. Time (and about 100 gigs) will tell.
I love all K&M products and I have many, this one scares me a bit.
K & M 210 Mic Stand
Excellent mic stands! Well made and sturdy....It's the only kind I use...Had them for years.
The Best
This is the best mic stand I've ever used... hands down. Collapses small, very strong, and great tension. this is a winner and unbeatable for under $100.
I found it at LAST
I have used a number of different boom/mic stands that look just like this one. But none of them did the job or stood up to heavy mics or heavy handling. But this K&M is the real deal. It handles the heaviest studio mics and just keep on rocking. Don't look at or even consider any other.
K&M mic stand
Perfect. Heavy duty, strong, folds up easily, I know it will last for years to come.
Rock solid stands
It was time to get some additional stands and rather than trust my judgement, I let my sales guru T.J. Walstrom steer me- it sure seems I'm a lot happier listening to him when it comes to successful results. He said buy these and let me say they are fantastic- built to excellent standards and perfect for my needs!
Best in this price range
These stands are rock solid. If you are used to using 20 dollar stands these will blow you away! The weight is heavy enough to hold a microphone firmly in place, but light enough that you don't mind carrying a few around to gigs. I shaved off half a star because I like my gear to be all-metal and built like a tank. This is really close. It has a few plastic parts, but the plastic feels dense, heavy, and solid. Not light and flimsy like cheaper stands. Not worried about breaking the plastic parts anytime soon. I think that even people that are used to using much more expensive stands of this style would feel that these are dependable after using them.
Quality
A high quality - easy to use stand. Two thumbs up!
Best Stand On the Market
These things are great they are the sturdiest stands on the market. Compared to the cheaper ones the cheep ones always tend to fall down and when you walk into the control room and here a big thud on an an very expensive mic you'll be smacking yourself in the face and ask yourself why you didn't pay the extra money to buy these stands. These are the SM57 of Microphones Stands and will last forever its defiantly worth the extra money.
Mic stands only "fair" rating
I bought these stands to replace my other cheaper stands because the base kept falling over. Unfortunately, these do the same thing. The telescoping boom works great, but other than that, they aren't any better than the $40 stands I bought 2 years ago. When will someone make the base of the stand so they will hold in place after being adjusted??
Industry-Standard Mic Stand Worth The Price
The K & M 21090 is by far the best stage mic stand I've used in the 40 years I've played professionally. I have musician friends who buy $20 stands, and they always have to replace them in a year or less. The stand I just purchased replaces an identical one that I purchased in 1993, and has lasted me 21 years. That one still works fine. I gave it to a friend. I use an Atlas L-02B quick-disconnect between the floor stand and boom so they can be quickly broken down and stored separately in the same case. These are the best I've run across hands down.
And BTW, the people at Sweetwater are very courteous and professional. It will be a pleasure doing business with them again.
Old Faithful
I have used these stands even back in the chrome days and have always found them to be reliable and easy to store. Because club owners build stages the size of postage stamps, these stands can sometimes eat up floor space. I now take a pipe cutter and cut the legs of the base to 7" long and put the rubber crutch tip back in place. Sounds crazy I know! but the stand is heavy enough to be as stable as most stands.
K&M Mic Stand
Guys...the mic stand is very durable but I had add another washer to make the boom tighter. It would actually droop down when the mc was put in position! It looks like a design flaw because 20 years ago I had to do the same thing with the other K&M I just had to retire.
Best regards,
Mark
Superior Mic Stand
This K&M Mic Stand with the telescopic boom is a very high quality stand, and worth the extra money I spent for it. With the outstanding price match I received from Sweetwater, this was a tremendous value considering the quality of the product. I highly recommend this stand for home studio or road use.
Rock Solid Quality
This K & M Mic Stand with Telescopic Boom is an excellent piece for any serious player. It's light weight, well balanced and the control surfaces tamp down nicely. I didn't realize how much trouble clunky mic stands were until I got this K & M.
K&M 210/9
Best quality boom stand on the market. It is worth the extra $ to upgrade to this stand. Has many length options. Durable and long-lasting.
Better....
This is a solid stand, the build quality is much better than your "standard" mic stand. However for the price I thought it would be a bit better. With a heavy LDC mic you still have to have a bear tighten the clutch. I think next time ill get a stand with metal teeth for a clutch so there is no droop at all.
Mic Boom Stand
Am a newbie Voice Over Type with limited space Home Studio, this stand gives me solid support, great maneuverability and doesn't take a bunch of room, love it. Would have given it a max rating but don't have enough experience with them to justify that.
K&M 210/9 is a great mic stand
Excellent stand. Far better than the less expensive ones, and very worth the extra cost. Service was excellent as always, and greatly appreciated.
GREAT MIC STAND
This mic stand is GREAT!. It screams "QUALITY" and is very durable.
This mic is a great deal.
