On the shortest setting it sticks out a couple inches past the back of the stand, so if you have your stand against a wall it wastes a couple of inches of extra space behind it for no good reason. The Omega stand is already so deep that even with a full sized 88 key workstation your keyboard doesn't extend past the back of the stand, so I really don't think this thing needs to be able to extend so far back. I took a dremel and sawed off about 2 inches of it to make it fit better in my space and I really think that's the size that they should have made it to begin with.

Definitely good quality build. For me, it reaches too far back to hold a music stand. I took a hack saw and cut off about an inch, the most that can be done based on the existing holes and welds. Between this attachment and the one it goes into that bolts onto the actual music stand, it would have been very easy for them to provide for even more adjustment. My Nord Stage 4 keyboard is deep compared to many others, and yet the attachment could/should still be able to slide forward another 3 inches or so. I hope they will consider this cost-free improvement for the future.

So I needed to get a sheet music attachment as the stand I have is big and bulky and it was a pain to move it in and out since it also blocks my monitor. The solution though not a cheap one was to invest in the KM18817 Universal holder. It requires that you also buy the KM18814 adapter that was incorrectly mentioned as not needed in another review. I am including the pics of the instructions that clearly show this. I also purchased the sheet music holder and what is fantastic about it is the quick release so I can remove it when I want to use my monitor from that position in my studio. See attached pics. This is a worthy investment for me and I hope the photos help you make a decision if its for you. I just wish SW would ship everything in a single box to save packaging and costs etc. Peter

First I'd like to point out, though the previous comment is old, it doesn't apply for the K&M table style stands. You may want the adapter only if you don't like the position of where this product would be inserted or if you are already using the two inserts for something else. Don't usually write reviews but definitely enjoy the products this company has to offer. Currently would be using 2, one for mic with boom arm and another for laptop stand.

Very well made product, but largely useless without the purchase of the adaptor that it slides into. Be sure to add the K&M 18814 adaptor to your order. The adaptor attaches to the main stand, and the 18817 Universal Holder slides into it.
