Electronic Kick Pad with Frame for Single and Double Pedals

Want to give your electronic performances that human touch? The Roland KD-10 — the latest in the V-Drums line of kick pads — is a great place to start. This tower-style bass pad features an adaptive playing surface that responds more like an acoustic drumhead, providing realistic feedback for attack and dynamics. Its redesigned frame greatly reduces physical movement to minimize flexing and scooting. On a rug or carpet, it's rock solid, with spurs to anchor the pad in place. Roland designed the KD-10 to accept single or double pedals, so whatever style of music is inspiring you, this pad delivers. A feature we at Sweetwater were quick to note is the KD-10's pedal mount, which is able to accept a wide range of toe clamps from many pedal manufacturers.

Noisy

By Maynold M. from SILVER SPRING, MD

I don't recommend this product.
It wobbles unstable and noisy, Not recommended for apartments.
Double bass drumming not recommended too!

Kick trigger pad

By Sharon B. from Nashville, Tn.

I have yet to be disappointed and Joel has always been very accommodating. I just can't say how nice he is, what more businesses need to do. Keeps me coming back

Shelf life?

By Jason M. from NY

I purchased a Roland TD-17KVX set in Nov, 2020. All went well and I progressed as a budding drummer.

In Feb, 2022 the KD-10 kick drum trigger failed. Soldering point broke. Sweetwater attempted repair, but that too failed.

Sweetwater sent another KD-10 (thanks!) per the warranty and joy resumed.

Earlier this month (Feb, 2023) that KD-10 failed. Out of warranty

(Not using a double kick, not using felt side. But, yes I bury the beater when I play (like many).)

item could cost $+ to repair and it apparently has a 12-18 month shelf-life. And, my goal is to get an acoustic set - only so much I can spend.

This is not an indictment of Sweetwater. Roland is the manufacturer and the internals need to be more robust.

Don't buy if you play metal

By Michael B. from Colorado

Overall this kick pad is very responsive and has a good feel etc. The stability is where this pad definitely lacks. I play double bass often... think August Burns Red, Motionless In White, Periphery etc. If you look close in the photos, there are two bolts that create a hinge directly below the kick pad at the base of the pedal. I don't care how tight you tighten these two bolts, the pedal will rock forward and back as power increases (with the momentum of the return stroke, the kick pad is lifted slightly). I have a 15 lb kettlebell sitting on the back of the pedal for added stability, with the Roland carpet/velcro all that and it still happens. This might not matter for most people but those of us who are dedicated to intricate footwork... this is a killer. Ruins my practice sessions on most occasions. I feel like for the price, this could have been designed to be fixed instead hinged to add stability. Just my thoughts. I'll either upgrade soon or sell the kit and start over.

Great piece

By Pier G. from Doylestown, PA
Music Background: Producer/studio owner /BFA In composition

I think this stuff is too expsive but otherwise it"s great. We bought a used TD-10 kit for my 12 year old that came with that brick thing (KD-7?) which was horrible. Upgrading to this piece was huge. If that"s the choice you"re considering then don"t hesitate.

Love this kick pad

By Grandpa G. from Denver area
Music Background: mechanical engineer and lifelong musician

I'm giving my DW performance kit to my daughter and wanted something to use for practice. Having played a few electronic kits in the last 10 years, I didn't really want to go that route, but our space is limited and even a small kick drum was difficult, so I ordered this new kick trigger. Wow! It actually feels like a drum. Great choice. Recommended!
