I have been working on an electric/hybrid set for small clubs. Because this goes on my 22" kick it feels so much better than the small towers. With my td and spx it allows me to control volume yet get great sound. Pretty easily assembled and installed.

The KD-A22 is pretty awesome all around. I'm in the process of converting my old OCDP kit to electric, mainly for recording purposes. This was a much cheaper route to take, vs. purchasing Roland's hybrid shells. I play mostly upwards of 200bpm blackened death metal and have used just about every trigger on the main market. This kit basically turns your kick into a more stable version of Roland's KD-9 kick pad. It's got a subtle mesh bounce like most Roland kick pads.I've ran the KD-A22 through both Roland's TD-6v and TD-17 modules with successful triggering results. Usually, I can't get dialed in perfectly on a single bass drum, double bass drum pedal setup without some kind of mis triggering going on, leaving me with 2 kicks separately triggered live. This solved that problem. My only complaint so far which I'm sure you'll read about elsewhere,is the area where the beaters strike barely fits my Pearl demon drive double kicks. Not sure if other pedals are as tight fit or not, but hey it works for me. I've included a video with me playing the KD-A22 through the TD-6v with Pearl demon drives

i've tried many different ways to trigger the kik, and i think this is absolutely the way to go. after tweaking a few settings works great. u can get super quick response out of your pedal also!! win-win. thanx so much to lee for always helping with all my drumming needs. even the querky ones!
