I'm impressed

By Paul K. from Akron OH

I finally had the chance to use my KC12s at a live performance after receiving them in December. This is a band (2x guitars, bass, drums, 3x vox) playing 70s, 80s classic rock.

Setup was a breeze and the small footprint greatly helped with the limited floor space. This is a smaller bar that got very crowded with about 150-200 people. The sound was even better than expected. Feedback from the crowd said it was balanced and clear. The gains were set at about 55-60% with still plenty of headroom on the board. I believe they could have handled a larger venue with no difficulty.

I am beyond pleased. I can pack this PA along with my bass rig and guitars in the back of my compact SUV.

QSC kc12

By Vincent T. from Millsboro, DE

Portable, easy to use and transport. I've gotten a lot of good feedback from club/bartenders, musicians and spectators. I'm only using one! Tight clear sound is what they are telling me, I'm considering buying another to really blow them away

Very Nice!

By Gregg from Bay Area
Music Background: Lifelong drummer and broadcaster/recordist.

This is a lovely piece of kit. As a freshly retired broadcaster (UnderCurrents), I needed clean, mobile amplification for various projects: band rehearsals, hybrid drums, and the occasional protest rally or DJ gig. The included bag is fine for the top pieces, but addition of the SKB case rounds out the whole portable package. Great design, excellent sound.

QSC KC12

By Dan from Los Angeles
Music Background: musician

The QSC KC 12 is the most significant technological improvement in the past 20 years.

Having used it at 4 venues, I am extremely satisfied with the phenomenal clarity of the vocals and the richness and fullness of both vocals and instruments. We used it in a 200 seating area twice and 2 smaller venues of about 50. The 3000 watt system fills the entire room with very clear vocals and instruments and has a wide dispersion. The performances included solo vocals and guitar, pop bands with vocals and keyboard input, and vocals and acoustic guitar. All sounded rich and pure.

The setup is very easy. In addition, the monitor speaker is almost unnecessary as the vocalists can hear themselves in the KC12 speaker. This is a real advantage.

If there are more than 2 inputs, I attach a Mackie FX12 mixer and conncect the output to one of the 2 line inputs.

Overall, unless I need 2 K12 speakers for a very large room, one KC12 is sufficient for our events.

QSC Column System Offers Great Sound and Solid Value

By Steven T. from SPRINGFIELD, MO
Music Background: long time semipro gigging musician

I have always been a big fan of QSC speakers and the KC12 column system reinforces that opinion. The band has replaced two Turbosound mains and four subs with two QSC columns. While the Turbosound system did a great job for us, the QSC columns have the advantage of offering a bit more clarity without sacrificing coverage, and doing so with a system that weighs 500 pounds less and takes up less than half of the trailer space. In addition, the QDCs can be set up by one person in ten minutes. That is an incredibly important advantage for both load in and load out. We have found that the QSCs have been more than adequate for all of our indoor venues, and we have been very happy with their flexibility, features, sound quality and coverage. We highly recommend the OSC columns for their value and quality.

QSC KC12

By DJ S.
Music Background: Wedding and Event DJ

The QSC KC12 speakers pack a punch for the size! They weigh less than most of their competitors, easy to set up and sound awesome! Clear crisp highs and punchy low bass and they go loud! They are perfect for most of the events I've done especially weddings! The sound is focused on the dance floor enough so people can talk at their tables! Thanks QSC

Beyond my expectations

By Mark T. from Port Charlotte, FL

I am a full time musician in a acoustic duo. Prior to my QSC purchase, I had a JBL PRX One column ( 2 months and returned), Turbosound 3000i column and EV speakers prior. This QSC has solved my sound problems. Adequate bass and overall volume. QSC has 3000w verses 1000 w JBL and Ev. I can use my beat buddy and roland kick without clipping or distortion and only running at 50 to 60%. Plenty more headroom if needed. The tall mids, tweeter disperse the overall sound evenly.

Meh

By Bob from Michigan
Music Background: Musician and Studio Rat

Plenty loud. HOWEVER, the issue with these types of speakers is the crossover and lack of warm cross talk with smaller drivers. The bass that comes out of them is great. The size is great. However, the mids are "barky" and just don't smooth out across the mid to high and mid to low frequencies, in my opinion. Would I buy them? If I absolutely had to have a column array that was louder than you know what. However, as far as smoothness, buy the Bose.

Finally, the "column mix mud" is gone!

By Rick P. from Lake Jackson, TX
Music Background: Longtime Performing Musician

I have always liked the form factor of the column systems, and as gigs have become smaller and more impromptu over the last several years it has become obvious how beneficial a smaller, less obtrusive, and quick to set up PA could be. The problem is that, compared to my larger three-way system, the columns sounded muffled... like a blanket was over the speaker, blunting all the crispness. Not bad, just not great. After searching through the many options, I had pretty much resigned myself to the back-soreness-inducing load in/out of large speakers. I began the search again in 2025 and was, initially, disappointed to see systems had gotten larger but hadn't addressed that high end issue. Then I ran into, nearly by accident, the QSC KC12. I didn't include them initially, because I didn't know they made a column-type system. It was new and, as I really liked the power and reliability of the QSC brand (though I have not owned anything of theirs in a decade), I dug deeper... and I'm glad I did. When I heard this system A/Bed with others, it was like someone took plastic wrap off the highs every time the KC12s were switched on. Other systems sounded good, but the QSC sounded natural; clear and full, like a real PA and not the DSPed-to-death sound I was trying to avoid. I ordered one, and was so pleased with the sound that I ordered a second column the day it arrived. I never thought I'd say it, but this column array system just might replace my larger PA; it's that good. There is a place where larger speakers are required but, for most of what I do these days, I may never need more.

A gigging musicians dream!

By Marelle from San Diego, CA

As a full time gigging musician that plays solo, duo, trio and as a 5 piece band I'm a big fan. Why? Well, its been a one size fits (mostly) all situation, whether I'm playing with my full band or solo I don't need a huge, double speaker set up because of the range, sub and power of this thing! You'll be using this no matter the set up and as a girl, not having to throw it up over my shoulder on a speaker stand is sooo nice. At the end of the day, I'm always trying to optimize my set up and be able to offer great sound anywhere I go and as of right now, the KC12 has been the most versatile speaker covering small to medium spaces with up to 100ish people easily.

QSC K12 Column Speaker

By Kevin S. from Grass Valley, CA
Music Background: Vocals, keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars. I play both small acoustic setups and in a band.

I purchased 2 of these to replace a pair of Bose L1 Model 1 each with 2 B1 bass modules. I'd been keeping an eye on column speakers but nothing really jumped at until I saw the QSC's. The Bose was easy enough to setup, but the QSC is even easier and faster. I also like only having 2 items to carry for a QSC vs 5 pieces for the Bose. The footprint is smaller, and the sound is much better. I like the the top of the column being so high because it allows it to throw better in some of the venues I play.

First gig was an acoustic setup: 1 acoustic guitar, 2 vocal mics, and 1 djembe mic. This was in a long/narrow wine bar. I used only 1 QSC, and the throw was excellent and sound very clear. I put it right behind us with no issues.

Second gig was 6 piece band: 4 vocal mics, keys, 2 guitars, bass, e-drums. I used 2 QSC's split out to the side (like a normal setup). This was in a club. Again, sound was very clear and bass was good. For a larger, outdoor setup, I'd probably add a couple subs.

Both setups use a separate mixer. I do not use the built-in mixer on the QSC.

The only drawbacks I've seen are 1)no app from which to adjust gain/volume. 2) No master gain/volume, only input gain settings. 3)I don't like the gain knobs as they seem like they could easily break.

All in all, I think these are great speakers!

One beast of a speaker. Crystal clear audio!

By Robert R. from Roanoke, VA
Music Background: Music Production Teacher/DJ

Heard this in person back at the NAMM conference and it left such a great impression that I had to get one for my DJ gigs. The clarity of the audio overall is no joke especially if you are looking for something in that column array category like I was. Bass is very strong for a 12 inch sub, though if you are trying to get extreme punch, you will probably need to pair it with an 18 inch sub, but for general purposes and great musical experiences, you can't go wrong with this one! Looking forward to getting a 2nd one!

KC12 just wow

By Kenneth L. from Springfield, MO

I decided to try one as getting older and while running sound for bands is great. The load in was getting a bit to handle.
Yes I was skeptial but,
with the Bluethooth option the sound is amazing and so crystal clear. We decided to try it with a full 5 peice band. All the band uses inears so the stage is quiet. This little KC12 THUMPED. The kick was tight and clean, the Bass was very well defined lots of low end. The guitars and keys just sang. The voclas were stop on and popped out of the KC12's. Load in and out wasnt like a chore. the sound was full and clear. The guitarest liked them so much her boght a pair the next day for his practice hall. Great choice and thank you Evan at Sweetwater for getting me in the ground floor with these. I am very very impressed. What a game changer!!!

My favorite speaker!

By Helena from San Diego
Music Background: Professional Performing Musician

The versatility doesn't compare and the footprint of the sub is so small. I bring this speaker to every one of my solo to full band gigs. As someone who is not tech savvy this thing saves me the trouble I usually experience when trying to mix myself to be heard in loud spaces and can still be heard clearly when I'm in a small space and need to turn down. It just has a clarity and depth like I've never heard before and eliminates the need for a monitor in most of my smaller room settings. The sound can reach extremely far without sounding too over overpowering. There was even a time I forgot my mixing board and was able to go direct guitar and vocals into the KC12 and the presets on there sounded pretty dang good when I was in a pinch! The Bluetooth is an added bonus too when I go on breaks. Stoked!!
