Behringer Ultratone K450FX - 45W 10" Keyboard Amp Reviews
Ever run into a gig where your playing area is too small for everyone to bring amps, or even too small for a full blown PA? The Behringer Ultratone K450FX is a 3-channel, 45W all-in-one solution. A single 10" woofer gives you full spectrum range to cover everything from bass to keys, guitars and vocals. A built-in feedback protection system will save your ears and keep the crowd happy too. Sculpt your sound with the 5-band EQ and onboard effects. The K450FX also works as a great keyboard amp with its three stereo inputs.

I have to submit an updated review of this unit now that I have actually learned to use it....the more I work with it the better I like it...it's a very versatile amp, and I suspect that as I progress with it, I'll discover even more of it's virtues...all in all, I'm very pleased with it....5stars...thanks again Behringer and Sweetwater...
Nice Amp | Works as advertised
We've had this for a few months now. Does everything it's supposed to do and does it well. We've been using ours for keyboards, Acoustic Guitar and Electric Drums.
The only issue for me is the covering they used, it picks up pet hair and pretty much everything else.
I've discovered that a Fender Blues Jr. Cover fits nicely on this amp and goes a long way to keeping this amp presentable.

Very pleased with this amp I previously had one for years but gave away to nephew so needed another. Great sound no problems I'm sorry that I bought 2 amps on Amazon that were nothing but problems should have gone to Sweetwater in the first place
A year in...
I've been using this amp as a stage monitor (and feed to the PA) for all of my gigs around Austin for the past year, fed by my guitar pedalboard with amp modeling. It has been PERFECT - great compressed tone, reliable, easily portable, and loud enough for the job at hand. Bravo.
Bang for the buck
3 channels and the effects. Offers alot for the $
Great multi tool
Keyboard, guitar or vocals all works fine for mp-mf but any louder and you're gonna need a bigger boat. For the $, this fit my use well giving my Alesis more throat.
Great bang for the buck
What sets this apart from others in its price range are the built in 5-band equalizer and effects. If you already have a collection of FX pedals this might not matter, but if not, or if you'd rather not travel with them, this amp gives you a pretty decent set of reverb, repeat, and phlange essentially at no extra charge. Very satisfied.
Great sound at an affordable price
I have used mostly Yamaha speakers and amplifiers over the past 25 years for my personal needs. A few years ago when I discovered Sweetwater I also discovered Behringer products. At that time I was on a tight budget and decided to try out Behringer mixers, studio monitors and effect processors. I was extremely impressed with the quality and performance at such an affordable price.
I bought this amp because I can use it in different ways. It can be used as a traditional keyboard amp or as a playback speaker from my mixing console. It has a warm sound to it and the built in EQ per channel bring out a nice crisp high end. Take my word for it....Behringer makes quality products and they think out of the box....like musicians would. I recommend this amp and all Behringer products to the home musician or enthusiast.
Great amp
Does what they the manufactures claims and then some.
I use it as a drum amp and the lows are clean and the highs are crisp.
Power Plus
This amp is perfect for the extras. Rhythm machine, PA, etc. Use for keyboard in small areas. The power is there.
Great little unit!
Does everything I need at the moment! I use it for my synthesizer, and you can run your mic through it and other stuff whether you're doing a small venue or jamming in your living room! The price was right too! Very pleased!
Perfect for my needs
For the price this amp has so many useful features! I got it because I was taking my keyboard to a small church for a women's conference and I had concerns about plugging into their sound system. It worked great! I like that it has a line out capability so you can add on another speaker for stereo sound. Again I want to say it was so much more than I expected for the price I paid!
True "in house" amp made
I was skeptical of spending a couple hundred dollars for an amp to practice and record in my home, but I'm so glad I went a head and did it. This is truly the most amazing little amp I have ever used. I done things with this little amp that my much larger amps at four times the price would not do. Low and high ends are unbelievable. You really have to use one to appreciate it. And when you buy from Sweetwater, your guaranteed the finest service and delivery.
Synth and Drums
With a mix of drums this is working out very Well the company has a good customer relations as my first amp had a minor glich in the input. Sweetwater and Behringer both stepped up to help and I was made to feel important as a customer.I will attempt to do all my business with Sweetwater and you should too.
Great practice amp!
Behringer has really over the last few years upped their quality while keeping their prices affordable. This is a great amp for practice or live use. I have my Korg X50 and Korg R3 hooked up to it along with my Electron Machine Drum. Sounds great. I would have liked it to have three stereo channels but for what I paid for it, it's definitely worth the money. Down the road I'll probably pick up the bigger brother to this, the Ultratone KXD12 to compete with live drums if I start getting into bands again, but for right now it definitely meets my needs and sounds great.
Compact and Low Cost QUALITY
This thing is excellent, it's your all-in-one band amp. I run an Audio-Technica MB 3k/c, Roland Lucina AX-09 Synth, and an Alesis SR-16 drum machine through this thing simultaneously and it still has the power to play them all clearly and loudly. This is one compact powerhouse people. It's big, but it's not so big that you can't easily pick it up and carry it around but it still has enough power to (most likely) play a bar/small venue. I'm putting my money on it being able to, I plan on utilizing it for local shows in small venues around here in the near future, that is how good I think this is. I will DEFINITELY be using it for recording purposes too. If this amp had more slots it could probably sustain playing more instruments on it. The built in FX are a nice bonus too.
The negatives are very few...
-The exterior has a fuzzy/carpet covering (I wanted a hard solid exterior, mostly to put stickers on it. So this is just a personal thing).
-The knobs seem kind of fragile. They stick up high and feel hollow, I'm kind of paranoid about busting them.
-Even though it has a dedicated microphone slot it SHARES the volume/FX knob with slot 1. So if (for example) you plug a keyboard into slot one and you plug in a mic they are both controlled by volume knob 1. This isn't made very obvious by the labels.
So my set up is Slot 1-Mic, slot 2-Keys, and slot 3-drum machine.
So yeah I highly recommend picking one of these things up!
Outstanding quality for the price
Clear, precise sound. Effects are good. Line out is very handy. Projects sound very well. I play flute through various effects processors when using our main PA system. No need for any external effects processor when playing small venues with this carry-around amp - the on-board effects are sufficient. Solid value. Will purchase another for female vocalist.
Great product but broke within 1 week of using it
Like another recent customer mine broke within a week, Sweetwater sent me a replacement and that one broke too. I am trying round 3 now because Sweetwater is great about returning and the product sounds great, especially at this price. Fingers crossed!
Great amp for acoustic guitar or vocals
I primarily use this amp for acoustic guitar, I'm really impressed by this thing. It's actually quite awesome, only issue no footswitch luckily I don't use the effects so not needed.
Nice amp with features for a great price
I am very happy with the two Behringer keyboard amps that I purchased. They are very easy to use and not too heavy to carry around.
Ultratone K450FX
Not bad for acoustic gtr....vocals need preamp or really hot mic...a good Yamaha kbrd sounds not so good run through this amp...EQ setup is wonky...maybe a separate EQ unit would help??..I'll work with it for a week or so before deciding whether or not to send it back...right now I'll give benefit of the doubt: three stars.
Great Features, but terrible sound :(
At this point I can speak pretty knowledgably about Behringer keyboard amps, LOL. I have owned the KXD12, the KT108, and now the K450FX. The KXD12 is definitely the best of the bunch except mine literally fuzzed out and went poof in a puff of smoke, but it was a good all around amp but with only decent sound. The tiny and super cheap KT108 is actually pretty decent for what it is and produces a musical (albeit not terribly detailed) tone. My hope for the K450FX is that it would perform more closely to the KXD12 I once had but in a smaller, more affordable package. Nope. It sounds very close to the KT108 but more unbalanced. The tone and dynamics on the K450FX are weirdly unmanageable. I could not get the EQ to stabilize the sound in any way, and if I made any adjustment to the volume the whole tone and EQ balance would shift. I was excited about the "Coaxial" speaker, but it sounds more like a full range wizzer cone to me...very dull in the highs, and gets yucky and crunchy when you boost 8k or 12k on the EQ to compensate. Oh and vocal mic with reverb? Equally troubled. The issue here is probably the speaker or the enclosure design are producing a wild and and unbalanced tone no matter what. My recommendation is to spend a little extra for the KXD12, or spend a lot less for the KT108.
Broke within 3 weeks
Bought this for my school's jazz band. Had it for a few weeks and it just started making a low humming noise and would not respond to anything plugged into it. Tried multiple different inputs and power cables. Had to call and get a new one sent out.
Hard to find the right setting
Sound doesn"t come out nice even if I went over eq a lot I couldn"t find a setting that I am comfortable with
