Zildjian 17" K Series China Cymbal at a Glance:
  • Great performance, classic sound
  • Cast bronze for premium tone and projection

Great performance, classic sound
If you want a sound that's always in style, choose Zildjian K Series cymbals. The innovative cymbal work of Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams or any one of a sweeping collection of the greatest drummers in history has benefited from the sound and performance of Zildjian K Series cymbals.

Cast bronze cymbals for premium tone and projection
K Series cymbals, like all Zildjian cast bronze cymbals, are individually poured and cast from raw molten metal. Each casting is cooled and sorted by weight for each cymbal model. Castings are then put through a complex sequence of heating, rolling, shaping, hammering, and lathing techniques unique to each cymbal range. Cast bronze cymbals have a rich, full-bodied sound that improves with age. They also have greater projection, clarity, and durability than any other cymbals. Zildjian cast cymbals are made from the Zildjian secret alloy, which is comprised of 80% copper, 20% tin, and traces of silver.

Zildjian 17" K Series China Cymbal Features:
  • Cast bronze
  • Exotic, mellow sound
  • Category: K Series
  • Type: Special effects
  • Size: 17
  • Weight: T
  • Finish: Traditional finish
The Zildjian 17" K Series China cymbal adds exotic character to those special accents!

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

East meets West

It's wild, it's wacky, it's funky and trashy, ....it's a China!!!

Lots of fun! Purchased to play classic and progressive rock covers. Great quality from Zildjian and excellent service from Sweetwater.
Music background: Jazz, Blues, Prog Rock

No finer China

Listened to samples of different brands and sizes of China cymbals and the one that caught my attention was the Zildjian 17 inch K. It met all expectations as it sounded exactly as the sample I listened to.
It was bright, not too trashy but a perfect accent to find it's place in among my other K's.
Love it!

17" Zildjian K China rocks!

Who say's K's aren't for rock! Left to right- Zildjian K 17 china ( This baby cuts without overpowering!), K/Z 14 hats (Articulate when needed and the Z still gives me volume), K 16 dark thin or dark medium/thin crash (I alternate the two.The thin opens up a lot easier for quiet songs, but the medium/thin has horsepower), K 8 splash (Dark and loud), K 18 dark medium/thin crash (Beautiful sound and easy to feather), K 22 dark medium ride ( Has the volume, stage presence, and the beautiful K aura and sound!), and last but not least, K 19 china for the most incredible dark breakdown explosion you can imagine! But, back to the 17 K china. It's my primary accent because my 19 can be too loud and out of place with an errant hard stick, but when I lay into both on the same beat, I want you to know I discovered 'stereo china bliss'- K style!!!!
Music background: Gotta' beat on it first, make sure I likes it!

17" K china

After some months of searching for a china, I settled on the Zildjian K 17". Left to right, I have 13" K light hats, 10" A custom splash, A 14" fast crash, 18" K crash-ride, 15" K hybrid crash, and now this 17" china. These metals complement my DW Performance kit (1 up, 1 down, all smaller drums). The sound is quite sweet but can also be very loud. I use the china in the traditional, non-inverted position (ala C. Watts and many jazz drummers). This positioning takes full advantage of this China's sound potentials, imho. I use this china for accents, crashes, and ride patterns. The cymbal is powerful with a long sustain when struck mallets, but can also have a soft, subtle, and mid-sustain voice when approached gently. It truly adds to my metal palate in a rich and varied way. Beautiful!
Music background: Recreational player of rock, funk, avant music

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or ZBT pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
