For my money this is the best cymbal I've ever come across and I've owned literally dozens of ride cymbals and several dozens of cymbals in general as well as been in bands with drummers who have gone through many different high end cymbals and rides so I have played and heard A LOT of them. For recording work it's just unparalleled. I find that the medium ride (my particular K Con medium ride is 2470 grams) is absolutely the perfect balance in terms of providing versatility while also hitting all the marks you want great rides of ANY weight - light, medium or heavy - to hit. It has a great stick, is extremely complex, has a beautiful bell, has a gorgeous, ludicrously musical wash and decay, can be crashed in a wonderful way, has plenty of cut and it's never too light or too heavy for any one job you need out of a ride or just a cymbal in general. In just the first stick tap I put on my cymbal, it was instantly recognizable just how different of an animal this cymbal was. It immediately sounded rich, lush and MUSICAL. Really the more I try to say about it, the more I feel that the words I have fail me in really conveying just how lovely it sounds. I highly, highly recommend it. In my studio, I have dozens of different cymbals from Zildjian K's (sweets, custom darks, custom dry etc etc), A's, A Customs, Orientals, vintage Zildjians from the 50's through the 70's, their later "Avedis" labeled line, Meinl Byzance, Customs, Sands and several different cymbals and hats from Dream, Istanbul and even two from UFIP. Now having gotten a hold of this 22" K Con medium ride, I wish I had just started with K Cons and went from there.

I love this cymbal. Great stick, beautiful integrated bell, big crash all with a shimmering warm wash.

This ride is so versatile, and I can play any genre of music with it. It was a huge price step up from my S Series ride, but it was worth it. If you can, pick one up for yourself because you won't regret it. I c an play songs from Luke Bryan to Slipknot, and the ride stands out. It has a balance of body, ping, definition, and warmth. Crashing feels amazing, too.

This is such a key aspect of my drum sound — when working sticks, mallets, brushes and hot rods across the 22inch surface I can engage in a plethora of tonality making this a very engaging and inspiring cymbal. Never needed to expand the decay with rivets as its resonance has hung around long enough to make both live and studio occasions just hit the right spot which I"ve learned to adjust follow up strokes or not on sub sequential patterns on the drums and cymbals.

Every time I record with this the sound quality just pulls me in and adds a lush tone to the whole track. I"ve had countless emotional questions after live sets, "what IS that cymbal?"

Worth every single penny, period.
