Squier Contemporary Active Jazzmaster HH Electric Guitar - Shell Pink Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Roasted Maple Neck, Laurel Fretboard, 2 Active Humbucking Pickups, and Tremolo - Shell Pink

Squier's Contemporary Active Jazzmaster HH sports the look and feel of a classic Jazzmaster, bolstered with active ceramic pickups to suit the high-output needs of modern players. It's primed for fast playability too, with a Modern "C" neck profile and 12-inch-radius fretboard. Instead of the traditional Jazzmaster floating vibrato, the Contemporary Active Jazzmaster HH is equipped with a modern 2-point tremolo for expressive bends and dives with a Strat-like feel. If you're looking for superb tone, playability, affordability, and a don't-play-by-the-rules vibe, Sweetwater recommends the Squier Contemporary Active Jazzmaster HH.

Squier is stepping it up

By Jacob Krause from MADISON, WI on December 8, 2022

As a proffesional luthier, tech, and player, all I have are high praises for this one. I couldn't recommend it more. I spent the last 10 years as a Squier hater like everyone else but I own 2 of their new contemporary models now and couldn't be more surprised and happy with them.
- The active pickups both sound incredible and are very clear
- The tuners hold tune very well, even for a guy like me who does a lot of big bends
- The neck joint carve is a nice touch that I wish they'd add to actual Fenders. Alas, boomers and purists would throw a fit if Fender added that nice of a quality of life change. Even though most of Fenders original designs are very bad and just didn't make sense from the get go. I digress
- These guitars have some of the best fretwork for their price point. Perfectly level, domed, shiny, rounded edges that aren't liftin off. All I had to do was a basic set up on it for my personal preferences and now it plays like a dream. Easily one of my favorite guitars of all time.
- Pots taper their levels in a very smooth manner, and there's no extraneous crackling noises.
- My only complaint is that the jack is on the face of the guitar, I prefer they're recessed into the butt somewhere, but all things considered, that's a minor complaint.
All in all, I highly recommend this guitar, it's easily worth the price,. And if you haven't noticed, Squier has been making so many new cool designs with unique colors. They found a way to meet tradional and modern at the perfect point. Don't hesitate, just get one!
