Squier Classic Vibe '60s Jaguar Electric Guitar - Olympic White, Sweetwater Exclusive Reviews
The Squier Classic Vibe ‘60s Jaguar harkens back to this stunning short scale’s heyday in the 1960s, more than delivering on both vintage-style looks and tone! This guitar’s lightweight poplar body sports the iconic Jag body — a style that Sweetwater guitarists find to be one of the most comfortable shapes around, both sitting and standing. Couple that with the Classic Vibe ‘60s Jaguar’s short 24-inch scale length and comfortable “C”-shape neck, and this 6-string offers premium playability at a wallet-friendly price. Fans of the Jag’s chimey, percussive sound will love how the Fender Designed Alnico Single-coil pickups deliver authentic jag tone, complete with a period-correct setup of a dark rhythm circuit and cutting strangle switch. Finally, no offset is complete without a floating vibrato, providing a smooth, vocal-like warble that’s graced the tracks of countless surf, indie rock, and shoegaze albums.

Squire classic Vibe Jaguar
This is a lot of guitar for the money. I particularly am impressed with the fit and finish of the frets, the pickup out put, and the tremolo. I took it to my guitar tech after delivery and asked him to oil the fretboard and check the intonation. The offset design of the guitar provides a very comfortable playing experience. I am very happy with this instrument. Dealing with Adam and Sweetwater is always a positive experience.
A Jag bargain
My friend still owns his purchased in the 69's and sonically they are similar with the same controls. The Squires neck is easier to play. The Squire required a neck shim to be able to raise the bridge and the shim lowers the strings. Seems weird to raise the bridge and have the strings lower but the shim does that and allows the proper tension with the higher bridge. Im using Half Wound strings and the guitar plays really nice and sounds killer. I have Strats and teles and the Jag sounds and plays different enough to warrant a purchase.
Dreams do come true!
I love the 24" scale and the white color. And whether it has the Fender name or the Squier names seems immaterial - this is one quality instrument!
I ordered this early Monday morning and It arrived early Wednesday of the same week. However, allowing for the 24 hour acclimation, I didn't get to really see and play it until Thursday morning. Double boxed shipped. The first thing you will notice is the weight. Not a bad thing but the guitar does have some heft to it. It feels like the weight of quality. A visual inspection shows the outward quality as I see no signs of imperfections. She is outwardly beautiful.
Due to Sweetwater's 55 point inspection the guitar arrived just slightly out of tune. A quick tuning adjustment and I had all Thursday to play. This guitar is great as is. If someone would want modify it there's nothing wrong with that but if you want a great guitar out of the box, this is it.
If you are unfamiliar with the jaguar's controls watch a YouTube video or Google the control settings or you might get no sound and think you got a lemon. A stunningly beautiful guitar with an impeccable sound!
A special thank you to Tylor and Sweetwater for this special deal and for this exclusive color option. White is the way to go!
Great guitar
Classic Vibe guitars are great guitars that can be amazing guitars. I bought the white Jaguar and absolutely love it. I've done some minor work on it and had it professionally set up and it plays really well. You can't beat CVs for the price.
If you are a new guitar player you may not want to get the Jaguar. Get a Strat or a Tele. The bridge is a little tricky on Jag and the guitar won't play very well without some proper setup work. But if you are willing to watch a bunch of YouTube videos and spend some time working on it, you will have a great guitar.
Sweetwater service is exceptional. I ordered a demo version of this guitar. The tech looked at the demo and decided the neck was unfixable. So they called me and helped me find another demo.
I highly recommend the Classic Vibe guitars; I own two. And I highly recommend Sweetwater.
