it looks and feels like $1,000

By Ken Lowman from NY on January 12, 2023

This is the second five string I bought from Sweetwater. The pictures look great, but it's a mind blowing difference when you actually see it and play it! This stands out in my collection, as does the trans black one I also bought. It sounds crisp through my Peavey stack, and I couldn't ask for a better bass.

Big Bang For The Buck

By RADFORD TINDALL from Memphis, TN on April 9, 2024 Music Background: Singer, Bassist

Bought this for my son, who needed a 5 string for the band he's in. He absolutely loves this bass. He has had no issues with the bass at all. The bass has already been on a short tour and has been played at every show my son has had since he received it. If this bass was $ more, it'd still be worth it. If you need a 5 string, you can't go wrong with this one...in my opinion.

Happy with bass, a bit misled by the description

By Chris Zwilling from Near Topeka, KS on February 27, 2019

I am very happy with this bass. The sound is great - I love the fader knob that allows me to "mix" between the bridge and neck pickups. The neck and fingerboard fit me well - I have better "sense" of where I am on the neck. Other positives: Good sustain (worthy of Nigel Tufnel), good weight (it feels heavy duty), beautiful finish.

One complaint - The description of this guitar on the Sweetwater site does not prominently state that the electronics are "active". I had to find out the hard way by picking up my bass one day and it didn't work because of a dead battery.

Great bass

Couldn't ask for much more at this price point. I really enjoy this bass. The only think keeping it from 5 stars is the fact that the minute you want to replace the string that come on this bass you have to modify the bridge to accept a standard 130 B string (the nut is cut for the 130 but the bridge is only drilled for 120).
