Can't Beat this Bass
For the price this bass is exceptional. I mostly play guitar but wanted to pick up an affordable bass to play around with. After putting on some fresh strings and setting it up following the included set up instructions (and a little bit of fine tuning) this bass has quickly become one of my favorite instruments. It's lightweight, stays in tune, and the smooth neck feels great and plays lightning quick. Not to mention the 'Tobacco Burst' finish is gorgeous. For $ you just can't beat this bass!
Jackson forever
Have this bass in the snow white finish for now 2½ years. Still plays like a beast and is the bast bass I've ever played. The active controls are simple yet fantastic!!
Budget friendly
It sounds great for the price. The wood of the neck is smooth and i can easily slide across the frets. Would highly recommend if you are starting to learn bass.
Great for the price!
I've been using this bass for about a year now, and it has punched well above its weight. In a perfect world, it would have a full 3 band pre-amp, but, then again, this is a $ bass, and having the option to bass boost is still quite helpful for getting warm and/or weighty tones. The rest can be dialed in on your amp. You can, of course, also mod in better electronics in the future. The Spectra JS2 feels great in the hands with nicely balanced weight and easy 24 fret access. Tuning stability has been quite good so far, and I have had no issues with keeping in tune. I also think it looks quite nice, especially with the tobacco burst finish that I got.
Overall, his is a great bass for the money that will serve you well for almost any purpose, and what it doesn't have can be easily added through mods bought with the money you saved, which I plan on doing eventually.
