It was my first experience with Sweetwater, it won't be my last. Customer service was great. The guitar came earlier than they said it would, it was well packaged/protected, and for $, WOW! You can't beat it! It looks great, plays great, and sounds great. I've had nothing but fun ever since I got it. Go getcha one, and keep rockin!

Great guitar for the price point

By Colter Houch from GILLETTE, WY on January 9, 2024

Feels great, holds notes really well, and looks awesome doing it. Naturally, like with all new guitars in this price range, you will have to adjust some things and maybe even restring; but that's not too bad. For $, pick it up!

For the money

By Donald on April 9, 2023 Music Background: I've been play for 46 yrs

For the money you pay for this it is worth it ther are a few things that you have to do like some fret work but that's easy enough. On a scale from 1 to 10 I'd give it 8.5 and that just because of fret sprout. This is a good heavy metal guitar well worth getting for the price

Everything you need to know.

By Ralph Clements from WARNER ROBINS, GA on February 17, 2023

You would think that a guitar this cheap wouldn't be very good. But this guitar is perfect for people on a budget. The fretboard is extremely easy to navigate and I can smoothly run my fingers down the strings. Keep in mind that most bad reviews on cheaper guitars are from people used to high end expensive instruments, but for a beginner, it almost seems too good to be true.

If I could describe the feeling of the satin finish, I would say that it feels like the material on one of those rubber laptop cases, but a little harder. Unlike gloss finishes, you don't have to worry too much about obvious fingerprints on the body. The frets are very polished and have a shiny steel look. The fret markers are stylish, and the neck is very smooth. In the packaging, the guitar isn't wrapped in plastic so you don't have to worry about taking the knobs off to remove extra plastic. The tremolo bar is to be pushed in, not screwed.

For a budget guitar, this instrument is a beast. Easily shreddable, and stylish too. Perfect for a beginner who wants a cheap, but a good brand guitar. I do recommend this instrument. Definitely a win for Jackson.

Thanks to Sweetwater for the amazing customer service and the care that went into delivering my package. I would certainly choose Sweetwater over Amazon any day.

The best guitar for the beginner

By Sweetwater Customer on June 24, 2022 Music Background: 10+ Years of playing.

I own a older model of this guitar back in the early 00's and saw it again and bought it. This guitar is ridiculously awesome for the price. I prefer playing this guitar over my Charvel!

Great first guitar!

By Ari from Stansbury park, UT on January 23, 2022

This was my first guitar, and let me tell you, I loved it! I have been playing a few years now and own far better guitars, but I still occasionally use it. It's very well built for its price, better than a $ squier.

INCREDIBLE BARGAIN

By Mark King from Beautiful Melbourne Florida on August 19, 2019 Music Background: Professional Engineer

This is the fifth instrument in my Jackson collection. I own two basses and two Pro Soloist models along with this bargain model.

The finish is a satin flat black on the body. The neck is raw like other Jackson necks. The Jackson branded pickups sound surprisingly good, no need to change them if you like the sound of humbuckers.

The neck on this guitar is very similar in size and feel to my Pro Soloist models, it feels wide and thin (front to back). It took me a year to get accustomed to my first Pro Solois, then it slowly won my heart and became my favorite to play.

The Amaranth (aka Purple Heart) fingerboard feels good and the frets in this Dinky Arch Top are gigantic, my favorites. You can buy this guitar new cheaper than getting a fret replacement on a Les Paul or a Strat so if you like big fret wire then play one of these.

Overall this is an incredible Jackson guitar for a dirt cheap price.

Good music to you!

Unbelievable for the price

By Kerry Marshall been playing for many years. Have a Gibson Les Paul, Aria Pro 2, And a Aio wolf guita from Michigan on March 11, 2024 Music Background: Why mostly rock and blues. This guitar plays as well as my others. I absolutely am amazed.

First off I want to thank you sweet butter and John. First time buying through them won't be my last tire came in great shape. Setup plays good. Could use better tuners pick up sound great the next smooth. Everything's really nice on it. Otherwise will change the string soon and didn't do the PRS locking string method which I use on my other guitars. Very happy with this purchase. You will be too long time guys

You get MORE than you pay for!

By Scarlet Donaldson on October 3, 2023

The Jackson Dinky is a great guitar for any beginner. When I pulled it out of the box there were no issues whatsoever with the body, neck, pickups, or tuners. The tremolo bar works exactly how its supposed to along with the knobs and switch. The frets are VERY large though, but I as a person with longer fingers, find them much nicer to play on than regular sized frets. I would definitely try out a guitar with jumbo frets beforehand because I know that when my friends would go to play it they did not like how large they were.

The only issue I think I had was the plug. I have a typical guitar chord and have noticed over time it gets overly loose. It may just be an issue with my guitar. But you would not be able to tighten it from the outside, you would have to unscrew the entire thing, pull it out, and then tighten it from the inside. You just could not leave it loose as it would have major sound complications if you would leave it. Though this sounds like a lot, its not too horrible if I'm honest with you, just make sure you have the right equipment to fix it if it ever does happen.

Really great guitar with only one problem

By Sweetwater Customer on August 7, 2022

The neck feels nice, the action is low and the pickups are really good, the tuners may be a little finicky but they are okay, the only thing i found not that good in the guitar is the tremolo, just remember this is not a floyd rose. Would recommend 100%

Jackson dinky js22 is...

By Derrick Tannehill from CRANE, MO on January 21, 2022 Music Background: Been playing on and off for over a decade. The JS22 series has got me to want play again. What's moves me is the love of the music

The Jackson dinky JS22 series has the high and low end. Very nice profile of the neck and body. Awesome and feels the best for heavy playing. For the price it's one of the better playing model for the affordable prince. It's uhh... Yeah! I know!

Good modification platform

By George Rozek from HOMESTEAD, FL on October 11, 2022

Bought this guitar with the plan of using it as a mod platform. Of course everything I thought I might change I really need to. The nut is not good the tuners are horrible, some of them don't want to turn and the others turn and do almost nothing. The pickups are like microphones. But everything else is good.

Upgrades are a must

By George Rozek from HOMESTEAD, FL on April 9, 2024

Bought this guitar over a year ago and slowly picked up parts for a major upgrade
I more than doubled the price of the guitar with the cost of parts. When it was all done the only thing Original is the neck and body.
