What a great guitar

By Crystal Akers from Asheville, NC on February 1, 2024 Music Background: Guitarist for Blitch

At this price point I just wanted a guitar to practice on at home and stop toting around my more expensive guitars. This arrived almost in tune out of the box. I did change the strings to my usual xl diadarrio and it sounds so good plugged in. I love the bridge pickup for my sound. I'm so happy with this guitar so far, haven't had to set it up or anything. Excellent!

The best cheap metal guitar I've found

By Nex from Kentucky, United States on January 4, 2024

I typically look for guitars under $ dollars that are good for metal, which is the style I play. I have played 10-11 guitars under this price range, and this is the best sounding guitar yet. I have played Les Paul copies, other super-strats, anything on the market pretty much but this has simply blown me away.

Really good beginner guitar

By james from Streetsboro, Ohio on May 29, 2021 Music Background: novice

I got this guitar in black a few months ago, arrived in pristine condition no issues ect. Nice flat comfortable neck fun and easy to play.
I'm 54 just starting out. Guitar was set up ready to play out the box with low action no sharp frets buzzing ect. Tuners stay in tune as I don't use the tremelo arm.Pickups sound good for stock I can get a good thrash and death metal sound from them. For this price you can't go wrong with this one I recommend this guitar to any beginner or anyone wanting a good guitar on a budget.

Surprisingly Great Quality for the Price

By Jason from HOUSTON, TX on June 24, 2021

This guitar feels and sounds great for the price. If you are reading this, then you are already interested in a Jackson at this price point. JUST BUY IT.

I originally bought this JS11 as a "project guitar" in which I could put an aftermarket scalloped neck.

When the guitar arrived, I was surprised to find that the neck felt so good and the pickups sound pretty good! I have had this for 6-7 weeks now, and have not bothered to order that aftermarket neck yet, because this guitar is so much fun to play.

A couple of things you need to do after you open the box however. First, put new strings on. The strings it comes with do not feel that smooth. Second, take a screwdriver and tighten everything (but not too tight!). I was hearing a slight buzzing/rattling when playing unplugged.

The frets feel a little rough at first (on bends and vibratos), but otherwise the fretwork is very good along the edge of the neck, even smoother than my Gibson Les Paul (which cost 10 times more than this JS11). Another thing better than the Gibson is tuning stability. The angled Jackson headstock is not great for tremolo arm dives, but on normal playing/bending, the JS11 holds its tuning MUCH BETTER than the Gibson.

Eventually I might get around to that new neck and an EVH Wolfgang pickup (which costs more than this Jackson). But for now, I am having too much fun playing this JS11. Five stars all the way.
