Clean Stereo Signal
I recently upgraded to a Nord Electro from a Roland Juno and wanted to make sure my DI box captured as pure of a signal as possible with the upgrade, so I opted for the Jensen version of the Radial Stereo since it was recommended to me. All I can say is this DI box makes it sound like there's nothing in the chain at all. The sound i get through my IEM's is the same sound I get direct from the headphone jack, this DI box is the real deal!
The price may be an issue for some, but it's totally worth the investment. Clean, clear, professional sound.
No phantom necessary!
Most instruments we use are "active" using a 9volt on board battery to power the preamp. To the huitars or the Bass... some ʻukulele.....
The JDI stereo allows my guitar and our Bass player to use just one DI box with two seperate sends to the P.A. System and still allows "Kona " to plug out the "Thru" to the Battery powered Battery JBL ( also from Josh Kattner, my man, advisor and go to guy!) as his on stage monitor! Great way to go! The was a ground buzz when the PA phantom was switched on... and plugging in or disconnecting any inout poped! So the JDI SOLVED THE PROBLEM! Mahalo Josh Kattner!
Great DI with quality parts
After using cheap DIs and having lots of digital interference (clicks and morse code like noise), we switched to Radial Engineering DIs. All that noise disappeared. The quality of the transformer does matter and Radial uses high quality parts. We purchased this stereo DI for a keyboard and it's great having a stereo pair of inputs instead of having to use two mono DIs. These aren't cheap, but they are extremely high quality and will last. It's will worth the money.
Excellent product
I have always had perfect performance from Radial Engineering products. This is no exception. Jensen equipped JDI Stereo sounds great. I mean, it is quiet and clear. There is no tone loss. Great product.
Radial Stereo JDI passes the real test
My new Radial Stereo JDI was purchased to mate up with a new Strymon Iridium. I used the JDI this week while playing guitar in worship at a CityQuake conference in Billings, MT. The JDI performed flawlessly and the output had beautiful, massive tone. Build is solid and function is dependable for the long haul.
Only Choice
If you are a working professional and need a rugged DI that is simple as can be, sounds great and 100% bulletproof, look no further.
Glad with my investment
I feel like this brought the character of my ITB amp sims and cab impulses out. I can absolutely consider recording with just amp sims with a lot of stuff. At the very least enough to sound good and allow me to just plug in when I have a quick idea and actually enjoy what I'm hearing to track with. It's a clean and adequate DI signal ready for re-amping. If you're into music production that uses bass and guitar this is definitely a needed step up from going straight into interface.
Great DI!
Originally thought about getting the Radial ProD2 and then thought about running my Hammond B3 through it and decided there should be no compromise. I have now used it in performances a couple of times and it sounds great. Can't tell if there is any reduction in the sound quality. Since I have not used it very much yet. I'm rating it a 4. If it holds up without issues it will get a 5 rating. It is a little pricey, but if I am using a $14,000 B3 set up, it's worth every penny.
Slightly better than Radial ProD2
It does its job and it does it quietly, without demands. I bought this to replace a Radial ProD2, which is basically the same box with slightly cheaper components (i.e. not Jensen Xformers). The difference between the 2 boxes is subtle, but it is there. I find the JDI to be smoother overall, but whether or not it is worth the extra cash is a personal choice. For me, it was worth it.
