Fender Player Jazz Bass - Black with Maple Fingerboard Reviews
First introduced in 1960, the Fender Jazz Bass has withstood the test of time to become one of the most played and recorded instruments here at Sweetwater — and in modern music history! The Fender Player Series Jazz Bass celebrates this heritage with upgrades that working musicians will appreciate. With its offset alder body and fast-action maple neck, this J Bass is incredibly comfortable to play and lets you pull off extremely tight runs and grooves with ease. It also delivers the legendary J Bass punch and growl, courtesy of two Player Series Alnico 5 single-coil pickups. Get your groove on with the Fender Player Series Jazz Bass.

Best Bang For Your Buck
If you are looking for a bass, the Fender Player series is in my opinion the best value for the money. With guitars I am not a huge fan of the player series as they do not "feel" like a big enough improvement from an expensive Squire. The Fender Player Bass options are a different story as I notice significantly improved pickups and quality of feel in the Player series of bass. This thing is a work horse and will not disappoint, and you can also choose the P Bass version if you prefer that sound over the Jazz Bass.
Wow! The Quality and Sound is Fantastic!
The sound is clear and punchy. Very nice low notes
I prefer this MIM bass over the American. Really love this bass.
Great buy!
Excellent sound and extremely comfortable. Hard to beat the quality & price on this monster. As always Tom took care of us. Definitely recommend this product.
I'm Back Home!
Learned to play bass on a new 1996 mim Jazz and really liked it. Bought and sold several types of basses since then, but now I'm back to my first love - the Fender Jazz. The upgrades Fender has done are really nice but I'm loving the maple fret board option. Neck is smooth and fast and so comfortable. Changed the pickguard to black and love the look - black, black with maple board.
Bass came pretty well setup out of the box - thanks Sweetwater - but wanted to change strings to flats and had my luthier do that along with a quick setup checking intonation and lowering the action.
The upgraded pickups rock - awesome tones with the classic jazz growl.
Looking forward to many years of fun with this bass!
Fender Player Jazz Bass
I was looking for a Jazz Bass with a maple fingerboard and I found this one. I ordered it from Ben as this was the lightest weight one he had. I received it very quickly and loaded it with D'Addario light gauge flatwounds. A setup wasn't necessary as the shop had done a good job setting it up already. Plugged it in and began thumping righr away. Played good and sounded good. Played it on our next gig and every one since. The sound cuts through the mix and blends in well with the rest of the band. It looks good, plays good, and sounds good. I like it and am glad with my choice. Get you one.
