Wonderful Instrument
Great craftsmanship and playability. The necks on the Fender guitars have been outstanding since 2008-ish. The neck on my 2010 "P" is slick and quick and the neck on this is equally amazing. Wood on the three piece body is tight grained and matched exceptionally well. Looks like one piece. Fingerboard is beautiful. Intonation and action were spot-on out of the box. Fender's upgrade to the custom shop p-ups is a nice plus. Sweet tone. Thanks to Mark Bruhn for his exceptional service and assistance (as always) in the purchase of this fine bass.
Fender Fretless Jazz Monster
I've has other Fender American Standard Fretless basses, but this one is the best of them all. The quality workmanship on it is fantastic. The tone, and sound is Right On! My D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewound Strings topped it off. I do like, and prefer the Hard Case over the SKB Case. Sweetwater packed my Fretless better than any other bass I've ever ordered from any other music company. I received it in perfect condition, and ready to play right out of the case. Bravo Sweetwater, and Fender.
Love It
I've owned many high end basses, but this is my first fretless. I made a great choice here. Excellent craftsmanship (I'm very picky), great neck and I was able to get a pretty low action. Pickups sound very good. Surprisingly light and well balanced. A very well made, great playing, great sounding bass, especially at this price. Can't go wrong here.
