When you take an American Vintage II 1966 Jazz Bass for a test drive, you’ll be impressed by its vintage tone and outstanding playability. A member of Fender’s American Vintage II series, the bass consists of period-accurate components that perfectly mirror those found on a real-deal ’66 J-Bass. This 4-string bass features an offset, contoured alder body and a super comfortable “U”-shaped maple neck. It comes loaded with two Pure Vintage ’66 single-coil J-Bass pickups that perfectly reproduce the biting thump of that model year. Other Sweetwater-approved vintage features include the 7.25-inch round-laminated rosewood board, fingerboard binding, 4-saddle bridge, and “lollipop” tuning keys. There’s a lot to like about the Fender American Vintage II 1966 Jazz Bass, and we’re just scratching the surface.

Great Bass!
Fit and finish are great. The neck feels fantastic, I had Sweetwater Plek mine and set it up with Labella Flats and it plays so good. I also had Sweet Water install the pickup and bridge covers.
Comes with a mute to put under the bridge cover which is a nice touch.
This one is a keeper.
Vintage Perfection
When Fender teased the new American Vintage Series II a year ago, the 1966 Jazz Bass in nitrocellulose Olympic White was on my radar. After gigging with my AV 1962 P-Bass for 20 years now, I knew this would be no less amazing. I'm a full time musician in the Florida Panhandle and this baby has been stellar in its first week as my new stage axe thanks to Sweetwater's inspection and setup! The tone is incredible on down to the weight, feel, vintage tuners and that Nitrocellulose finish!!! Running "Lady Light" through my Ampeg Micro VR stack or even my Rumble 500 delivers that vintage tasty Jbass tone. If you're in the market for a true Jazz Bass, go ahead and pay a little more for a truly remarkable instrument that will last you a lifetime with proper love and care.
