A Great Bass
I owned a Fender American Professional I Jazz bass and it was a good Bass. This Am Pro II is a great Bass!!! Awesome neck, looks incredible and most of all sounds great. The pickups provide a very balanced and perfectly blended sound. I have a lifetime Bass here in this Fender J Bass. The cherry on top of the cake here is I had this Bass Pleked by Sweetwater and they did a Professional job on my Bass. It's well worth the money to have this service done and get a perfect instrument ready to go after you wait the 24 hours for it to acclimate to your region ... Yes I actually took my Sales rep's suggestion to heart and waited to open it up. Shout out to Josh Kattner who is without a doubt the best Sales Engineer at Sweetwater. I highly recommend you ask for him for all your gear needs! Thanks once again Sweetwater for helping to make my musical dreams come true.
Another great trip to Sweetwater
I was in Chicago for work and made another day trip to Sweetwater.. I had been thinking about adding a Fender jazz bass to my arsenal but I wanted to see a few in person and really check them out.. The store sales staff was awesome and of course the selection was outstanding. I ended up going with the American Professional II and I love the way this bass sounds and feels.. Thanks Sweetwater.. I'll be back!
Just what I was looking for
Just purchased this American Pro II.
Absolutely love it. Smooth as silk neck, balance and weight are excellent!
Finish is perfect. Tone through my Ampeg PF-500 with 2-12" Porta flex cabinet
is awsome. Plays so much smoother than my previous '99 American Jass Bass or
my Schecter Diamond C4.
The case is also great.

A MUST HAVE!
I had the Fender American Professional I Jazz bass (4 string) and I eventually purchased the Fender American Professional II Jazz bass (4 string) and to my amazement I felt there was a BIG difference and ended up selling my AP I and keeping (forever) my AP II. Here's a couple of the main reasons: (1) the neck is slimmer and more comfortable; the AP I seems "chuncky" compared to the AP II, (2) it's lighter and conforms to your body more, it doesn't seem like a "chunk" of wood your playing but a well designed and comfortable body, (3) the pick-ups are amazing! They have the growl, but it's not as "bright" sounded, but it is also very articulate with an overall warmer, bassier growl to it.
I am saving up for a second one now! The AP II Jazz bass is that GOOD and I highly recommend them!
Another perfect Fender
I bought this bass recently to pair with my American Pro II P Bass. As was expected, the build quality and sound are top notch.
Definitely worth pulling the trigger on!
My first bass back in the '80s was a sunburst Fender Mustang. The American Professional II is a vast improvement over the Precision and Jazz basses of that era. I especially love the satin neck! I have been used to a Peavey Cirrus Wenge/Walnut with a tung oil finish and loved the smoothness of the neck. Trying the Jazz bass satin finish finally made me feel at home with a Fender. I wanted the tone but also the playability I was used to. The American Pro II satisfies on all fronts! I love the tone and the feel! I appreciated the very nice hardshell case as well. I am thrilled with my purchase!
