The best fretless bass I have ever purchased.
I have one unwritten rule when purchasing new equipment, don't do it unless you have had hands-on time with the instrument. All the times I have regretted a purchase, I had not tried the equipment out beforehand. This rule is especially true for basses.
However, the world has changed with physical shops either closed or only keeping minimal stock; I decided to ignore my own rule, take a gamble, and I clicked the purchase button without ever having set hands on this bass. I was especially concerned about the changes to the neck; all my other Jazz basses have had the classic C shape.
I am glad to say I love this bass; the finish is flawless, and the neck is one of the best I have ever played. I tend to play my fretless bass without too many slides or "Jaco" style flourishes, and this bass allows me to do that while still giving me the ability to drop in fretless articulation on a note when I want (or the song warrants it).
I have owned a lot of fretless basses, and this is the best one I have purchased.
The setup of the bass out of the box was flawless.
