Squier Classic Vibe '70s Jazz Bass V - Natural with Maple Fingerboard Reviews
First introduced in 1960, the Jazz Bass has withstood the test of time to become one of the most played and recorded instruments in modern music history. The Squier Classic Vibe '70s Jazz Bass V celebrates this heritage in an incredibly affordable instrument that aspiring musicians will appreciate. With its sleekly contoured offset body and fast-action maple neck, this J Bass is incredibly comfortable to play and lets you pull off extremely tight runs and grooves with ease. Of course, it also delivers the legendary punchy bass sound you can only get from a pair of single-coil J Bass pickups.

Rock on !
Loving this bass it's got a great feel and it sounds amazing. You can get some really cool sounds out of this by adjusting pickup configuration. Never had a bass that growled like this
Superb
As a pianist who loves bass lines, I decided to invest in a bass guitar. This bass guitar delivers 100%. The workmanship and the sound quality are superb!!!!
Amazing!
I'd put this bass up against ANY other bass out there. This bass has it all. Thanks to my advisor, Cameron who checked on me before and after it arrived. It was set up perfectly, I did not have to do a single thing to it. I haven't even been in a rush to get the strings changed as I am with every other guitar that I buy. This is my 3rd guitar purchase from Sweetwater with many more to come. Sweetwater has stepped up to do all the right things from set-up, to sending extra pictures before I received it, to build up excitement. Bravo to Sweetwater and Cameron. Musicians Friend, American Musical Supply, Sam Ash have lost a customer thanks to the guys at Sweetwater.
Awesome bass!

#1 wife
I surprised my husband with this bass. He loved it I'm so glad I got it in time for Father's Day!! It has a great sound and looks great.
Awesome Bass!
I've had this guitar going on about a month or so. I wanted to play it a while before writing a review. I tuned down a whole step with some truss rod adjustment, and it holds tune really really well. Sounds great also. I couldn't believe this thing is a Squire. The natural finish is so beautiful! My only complaint would be the neck has like a lacquer or clear coat on it, so if anyone gets sweaty hands, you may have trouble getting some traction. That doesn't change my love for this bass though. I love the bass and don't ever plan parting ways with it. Go Squire!
home run
this isn't my first squier, i had always wanted a five string jazz bass with the seventies pick up spacing, but fender never offered such a beast, with this one squier has hit this out of the park, very articulate, versatile and the neck is solid as a rock, sounds and plays far better than price would suggest, outstanding bass
Awesome Bass!
I own several American Fender inspired Basses and I would put this one up against any of them, both in sound and quality craftsmanship. The Sweetwater setup that the bass was delivered with is spot-on too. I have made no modifications to the instrument..not even strings. I opened the box and started gigging with it. It"s amazing, especially for the extremely affordable price. Best "bang for the buck" 5-string available for vintage tone. Buy it! You will be glad you did.
Overall great bass
I love this bass. The pickups sound really good and the low b string sounds good and is very helpful for playing at church. the only complaint I have is that the tuners aren't the best.
Great Playing Bass
Great playing bass nice wood nice neck my only problem with this bass is the pickups 60 cycle hum if you have both pickups on full no hum if you pull back on either volume knob you get hum I replaced the pickups with noiseless pickups they need an option to sell this bass with noiseless pickups !
Pleasanly Surprised
I just bought this bass 2 days ago, pretty much an impulse buy. It had a pretty decent setup on it right out of the box, I lowered it a touch. It plays like a champ! Over the last couple days I've probably played it for a total of 10 hrs and It has held tune beautifully. It does everything I need it to do. The controls feel a little lower end, but by far not the worst I've ever had, and they respond reasonably well. I have to say, I had a little trepidation buying a Squier , as they have never been particularly good to me in the past, but this bass is a keeper. The only Minor complaints I have are the weight, but, it's a bass..., and the balance, but it's a fender-ish bass, so you have a headstock you also use to propel a canoe , you just have to be prepared to keep lifting the neck every few seconds when It decides to look at the floor for it's missing contact lens. All in all , It survives my gorilla style playing , stays in tune, sounds great, plays nice, I'd recommend it.
Great Bass except 60 cycle hum
Great Bass except 60 cycle hum Great Great Playing bass Guitar I Will Be Installing noiseless pickups tp bad this bass didn't come with good pickups as an option !
Terrible build quality
This would have been a nice bass were it not for the complete lack of quality control at the factory. Two of the four screws that hold the neck on had been drilled multiple times in the wrong place so that one of the screws was not biting into any of the wood on the neck and the other was so loose that gentle tough would have weakened the joint. Sweetwater has kindly offered to replace it but I'm worried that the next one may have similar (or other) hard-to-detect issues.
