Excellent beginner/intermediate instrument
We got this for my daughter, and I am amazed at how rich of a tone it has produced with just a few months of practice. It's very well-built, with good intonation across the range. I also have dabbled on the instrument (I play clarinet/bass clarinet), and am impressed with it as well. It has more of a clear/punchy/brassy sound, rather than a smoky, velvety sound--but that is probably indicative of the skill level of the players, too, as well as playing on a more closed-facing mouthpiece. This could easily take a student up through high school.
