Nektar Impact GXP88 88-key Keyboard Controller
Nektar Impact GXP88 88-key Keyboard Controller Reviews
MIDI-based musicians — are you ready to expand your performance horizons? Sweetwater is excited to introduce the Nektar Impact GXP88. Nektar has created a new instrument category here: an advanced 88-note MIDI controller with full-sized, semi-weighted velocity- and aftertouch-sensing keys and everything else you need in a serious studio or stage controller keyboard. The Impact GXP88 ticks all the boxes: proper pitch and mod wheels, dual-footswitch and expression pedal jacks, selectable velocity curves, 14 RGB LED buttons, 5-pin MIDI out, USB bus power, and more.
KEYS HAVE SHARP EDGES...
I am a full-time keyboard player by trade. I needed a semi-weighted 76 or 88 key controller with aftertouch. This is the only one I could find. I just tried this kybd out and if you're playing an octave, your thumb scrapes on the edge of the next key which the edge is actually sharp to the touch. I can tolerate bad action but not this. Crazy no one points this out. Returning it.
Stops working on the gig
I have emailed back and forth with Nektar support
The controller has frozen in the middle of live performances consistently
Nectar recommended a powered usb hub, which I tried, and then went as far as buying a power supply and it still froze on the gig. One was live on tv.
I can't recommend this controller at all.
