Great sound for the money
Was looking for some new 12" mains to add to my gear
And JBL is a reliable staple. These sound great out of
the box! Tested the through bluetooth using my phone
and it was clear with plenty of thump. Looking forward
to hearing them through a proper setup with my subs.
Just wish I could afford another set for monitors
Clear sound
We bought two of these for our gym for music and sound for activities. Sound awesome. Even the low end sounds good. The only thing I don't like is when power is shut off you have to manually turn the speaker on from behind so I couldnt hang these out to reach.
Excellent JBL powered speaker, very clear audio and light weight
I got this speaker so I can work with my Line 6 POD GO to configure without having to go through an amp or set up a PA. I like that it is light weight and gives me a very clear flat sound to work with. It also makes a nice monitor wedge for certain set ups with my Bose L1 Model II. I received it very quickly and was able to use it for an unusual gig set up. Was playing at a place with another musician that had a small area to play, used her Bose Tonematch, with external power, Master Output to one of the 2 channels in the JBL, it has an XLR Out that we used to go into the house PA and it worked perfectly, gave enough clean sound as our monitor and to the tables in front of us while getting a clean mix to the house. The built-in Bluetooth worked great and provided break music from our iPhones.
Better than expected!!
This speaker is great for the price! The sound is crisp and clear with good bass. It has a bass boost button but I haven't needed to use it at all. The Bluetooth works perfectly streaming from phone or tablet. It can get really loud. Louder than I'll ever need. I'm really happy with this purchase. Sweetwater took care of me by sending to me very quickly. It arrived the next day. Shout out to Nathaniel DeRusha for giving me a good deal on this speaker and excellent customer service with all of my purchases from Sweetwater. I'm a customer for life.
Great sounding speaker's
Please turn it down is what I'm hearing from small venues so even at a lower than I like volume the music and vocals are clear with no distortion. I can say the same for the 108's
Very User-Friendly
I ordered two of these and the related sub to use as a sound system for my wedding. They easily fill large rooms and have well-rounded bass even without the sub. Moreover, they're extremely user-friendly. The bluetooth is simple to connect to and no pre-amp is required if you want to add in a mic. Literally just plug in, connect, and jam.
Great speaker
I use it when I practice my drums. The Bluetooth works great, I control the volume and what I listen to with my cell phone. When we have practice We use it as a PA system 2 microphones. They sound crystal clear and plenty of volume.
So easy
The JBL IRX 112BT is a very user friendly speaker. Everything has been done for you to get great sound with no guess work involved. EQ presets and other functions work very well. The 5.0 bluetooth for music is real good. My home entertainment system sounds great.
Thinking of another pair for the patio.
GREAT for karaoke
To be honest I wanted the Yamaha's, but they were going to take too long. So Collin recommended these and it may have been a blessing in disguise! They are SUPER light weight so setup is a breeze. They sound fantastic for the price. They are VERY loud....Just 2 of these filled a giant outdoor tent. For larger spaces I may add the sub later but for what I am using them for I don't need it yet. The big feature here for all you Karaoke DJs out there is the automatic feedback suppression. I often roam the crowd while a singer is up so its great to have the speaker eliminate any feedback that might occur while I am away from the mixer. And to be honest there has been very little feedback to begin with even with my cheaper mics (can't pass around the good stuff.)
I can't speak for live sound, but for Karaoke they are a game changer...should be great for DJing as well with the added sub.
Exactly what I needed!! JBL Never steers me wrong.
I really needed an inexpensive solution for powered monitors to start replacing my old passive ones. I just replaced my mains and subs this year and moved to an all powered system by JBL (SRX series if you're curious). I really wanted something that could double as small mains for little venues and give my customers options as well. To top it off, these things have blue tooth so when they're not being used professionally, I use them outside by the pool and get the perfect backyard entertainment.
Just this last weekend I used them as monitors in a music festival for the first time. They did AMAZING! It was so nice to just run power and signal to the monitor without an stack of amps at mixing table.
I'm an old-school analog guy that's been doing this for 30 years. But I love this digital, powered technology. It def makes life easier.
Pros:
Lightweight
Pristine sound
versatile
Built in feedback protection
2 channels, plus Bluetooth
Cons:
Not the most powerful monitor you can by, but fits my needs perfectly
EQ is 4 pre-programmed presets (However, you can set it to flat then EQ the mix sent to it)
All-in-all I am very pleased with these speakers. They are not the most powerful or best speakers JBL makes, but they fit the need of exactly what I wanted and at the price I needed. They really shine as monitors!
VERY LOUD
Excellent sound quality and loud enough to hurt my ears and run off most people. I especially like the "A.F.S." function.
Irx 112bt
I was Referred by a family member in to getting a jbl speaker, my in-law has a irx 108bt. When I called I spoke with Brent leuthold, and asked him a few questions and he answer all of them, Brent has a lot of knowledge and knows what he's talking about along with his assistant John, so I shopped around and called Brent back and Brent gave me a good deal on the speaker, jbl speaker bag and speaker stand. The speaker sounds great, good base and very loud and clear Sweet water is awesome and Brent along with his assistant John are the best, keep up the good work.
A Darned Good Speaker
These speakers sound great. I have 4 of these and I am very happy. Clear, Loud, and Quiet. Only thing I don't like is the power button. Unlike a rocker switch, which can be left on, these have electronic touch switches. If the power goes out, instead of turning back on with power being restored, you have to go to each speaker and press the power again. Not a big deal in the whole picture. I like the units though.
JBL IRX
Awesome speakers. Economical and practical yet so powerful.
Decent
I liked that they're 1300w, look clean when paired with the 15 sub and don't weigh much
Excellent smaller sized loud speaker
The more I use these speakers the more I like them. When all I'm doing is backround music I set up my Mac or iPad and blue tooth to them, no mixer needed. They're light weight and sound good, not great. I've done several school dances and wedding receptions adding my subs with them and can rock a good size crowd. The Bluetooth is almost flawless. They've taken over as my most used speakers. If you haven't tried them do so.
So far, so good
Needed these to audition a new singer for our band. The previous singer owned the PA. James, my sales engineer, expedited them to me as I only had a few days until the audition. Once I figured out the sweet spot between the volume from the board, the master volume on the speaker(s) and the line volume on the speaker(s), they worked wonderfully. And yes, the singer is now in the band!
Found It!
Been a singer for 50+ years but never involved with the sound technology aspect. Was looking for a speaker/monitor for practice and potentially as a FOH speaker for small venues. Wanted an all-in-one unit with EQ functions. While it does not offer a reverb effect, I was aiming for "body" not an "echo chamber". Have been learning the presets and "bass boost" while "home practicing" (thank you COVID). So glad Ashton suggested this cabinet. Offers the volume, the desired body and streaming capability I needed. Once venues "reopen", looking to add a second unit. Ashton was extremely patient and helpful. So, if you're looking for a monitor or FOH unit for small venues this is a strong option!
Great DJ speakers, not so reliable band speakers
I have used these for just about 2 years with my band and for basic plug in your phone with a playlist "DJ" gigs. For the DJ gigs and for acoustic kinda shows with lower volume and less low end the speakers do great, run clean, no hissing or anything. But when running a full band outside where you need to push the masters past 2 o'clock, they struggle after awhile and can be unreliable. We have had moments where the limit light comes on a lot, and sometimes they even start wanting to shut off, so we're forced to turn the master down to prevent them from shutting off. Not a good situation when your getting paid to play. I think having a good subwoofer along with them and a low cut or a third or fourth speaker they could do well with a full band and get plenty loud, but I think they are more suited and voiced for running tracked music, a small gig, or conference than running a live band mix. We will likely go with the Yamaha DBR series instead and sell these. We don't even want a repaired version of these using the warranty because shipping would be a lot and we just don't trust these for our needs.
JBL SPEAKERS
Purchased two JBL IRX Speakers , right out of the box one speakers had issues , intermittent short with the on and off switch and Bluetooth option , hit and miss , sometimes it works and sometimes it fails to turn on or not shut off Bluetooth option which leave the speaker not usable contacted customer service and will return the one speaker ...Sweetwater has been helpful with the process
Poor quality. Runs very hot. Intermittent music cuts off in the middle of streaming.
Does not live upto the reputation of quality expected from jbl. Also very disappointed in the representation of this product by sweet water. The back of the speaker is very hot to the touch. Intermittently music cuts off in the middle of streaming. Not fit for it's intended purpose. Turned off speaker and eq lights still on even though speaker is powered off. Worried the electronics are overheating or short circuited. Do not recommend. Not reliable.
