Thanks to its radical shape, the Iceman has long been one of Ibanez's most spotlight-ready models, so much so that Paul Stanley of the band Kiss has favored it for the bulk of his decades-long career. The Ibanez Iceman IC420MFM is a prime example of this head-turning solidbody electric guitar. Carved from a solid slab of okoume, the IC420MFM includes an attention-grabbing flamed maple top and a 3-piece set-in okoume neck, which gives it a brilliant, sustaining acoustic tone with truckloads of bite. Its Super 80 humbuckers are genuine scorchers, arming you with a bright PAF-inspired sound and enough output to give your amplifier a good spanking. This photogenic axe's performance-ready hardware consists of a Gibraltar Performer fixed bridge, a Quik Change III tailpiece, and Ibanez tuners. Gleaming gold hardware and a sleek low-gloss polyurethane finish round out the inimitable Iceman IC420MFM.

This new Iceman is visually stunning. Gorgeous. If you're a player of other Iceman models like I am, this one is not quite the same. It does not wear like all my other Iceman. It almost wears like a Strat or LP, where you have to maneuver the guitar to a certain position on your body when it's time for lead work. Also, the neck / body joint is much more like a LP. You do not have the super easy access to the higher frets like you're used to with other Iceman models. The pickups are extremely bright. I never use tone knobs. I have the tone knob turned down on the bridge pickup for this guitar. I will most likely swap out the stock PUs and put in some P-Rails with Triple Shot rings. Overall, I'm happy with the guitar.
