Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat Acoustic-electric Guitar - Checkerboard Reviews

6-string Acoustic-electric Guitar with Spruce Top, Mahogany Body, Maple Neck, and Walnut Fingerboard - Checkerboard

A 6-string not for the faint of heart, Fender’s Tim Armstrong Hellcat is about as punk rock as an acoustic guitar can get! As the lead singer of punk legends Rancid, Tim has long favored his Fender concert-size acoustic for songwriting duties. The Tim Armstrong Hellcat is a tribute to that guitar, with a few performance-minded upgrades added. Songwriters and unplugged players will surely love how this guitar’s solid spruce top and mahogany back/sides provide a clear, balanced, and midrange-forward response perfect for vocal accompaniment. Looking to take to the stage? This guitar’s Fishman CD-1 Preamp delivers a full-bodied acoustic-electric tone to capture the ears of any audience, while the wild Hellcat/double skull inlays and statement-making Checkered finish is guaranteed to capture their eyes. And once the show’s over, the Hellcat’s pared-down concert-size body and slim walnut-topped-maple “C” neck make the Hellcat both a superlative songwriting companion and supremely comfortable couch strummer.

Great Little Gem!

By Sweetwater Customer on January 29, 2024 Music Background: 53 years of playing, Drums, Guitar, Bass and Piano

This is a really nice guitar and a great piece of art at the same time. I bought this guitar for its checkerboard appearance, not really caring how it played. It was going to hang on my wall and remind me of my 80's/90's music days. What I got, was a great playing, excellent sounding, incredibly crafted fender masterpiece! This thing even arrived in tune in the the middle of January in sub-zero temperatures and hasn't been out of tune yet, 3 weeks later.
Awesome guitar, one of my favorites out of the 50 I already have!

It looks good, feels alttle toy like, plays well and smaller than I expected but it a fun guitar for practice around the house.
